1:30 is amazingly well done. Lower income = higher chance of obesity due to having less resources to pay for healthy foods. The answer? Exercise. Exercise I say!
No time? Make time!.It's hard? So is watching your child suffer through hypertension, diabetes and a less fulfilling life. Walk around more. Place your computer on a stand-up desk.
And stay away from pure junk food / snacks!
Do I cheat? Yes, But PERSISTENCE is key. Keep at it & Never give up!

Yes! I wrote about this for my Latino class, they've researched how much exercise people who are income rich/poor and time rich/poor are able to allot to different activities. Income poor exercise less in every way (household activity, recreation, walking) except biking!! So we can learn from stuff like this that its hard to tell people, exercise more. But, there are hidden ways poverty can include free and useful forms of exercise. Income poor people bike more for necessity, not exercise, which is sad and unfortunate but goes to show we can tailor suggestions towards ways that are useful for those who don't have money. It's stupid to say join a gym, but its very helpful to suggest to those who have lower SE status to engage their kids in free after school community programs, or to use bikes to the store as opposed to carpool just to incorporate exercise into the time constraints of poverty! Its all about tailoring our implementation and I think we can make great strides. Really hoping to see a brighter outcome for Latinos. ¡Deseando salud a todos!

All those foods they listed, I rarely eat. My parents are health freaks. And we're Hispanics.

You've done a great job creating this video. I'm in college and I have a class Power Point due tomorrow and I want to insert it into my Power Point presentation, but can't. I tried to download it, but can't. How can I get a copy of this ASAP to use in my presentation?

@ImoenOfTelengard Latinos are individuals that are from Latin America. Not all latinos are hispanic. Brazilians are not hispanic, as they speak portuguese. Some Amerindian communities will not be considered hispanic as they have their own languages.
Hispanic would be spanish speaking individuals and nations of the world. Latino just means from Latin America which includes English speaking Belize and Portuguese speaking Brazil.

I would love to be blessed with a son like this kid. Now I wouldn't want him to become morbidly obese. I wouldn't be ashamed to take him out anywhere, play games or do some active things he likes to do.

This a very good educational video. It is not because our DNA: the percentage of overweight people in Latin America --with the exception of Mexico, where deep fried foods have become very popular-- is way lower than in the USA. Before fast food and sugared sodas came to Latin America, there were even less obese people over there.

I hope the facts will change your mindset of eating 10 tacos a day. A fat kid is not a healthy kid. Do you want to try again?

t is so nicely done simple and conveys all.
"Stop Eating the Advertised Stuff" could be added as a message....this should be next to "Babies Need Mom Made not Man Made."
