Beautiful carve, and I love your carving area and how you've got it all set up. Always looking for good ideas for my own outdoor carving space. Thanks for the video.😊
Thank you Forrest, it's 23 years of evolution, I work mostly from my studio now so I've spent a great deal of time and thought into the whole thing ... Thanks for watching !
I was watching this video again I had to find you again haven’t seen anything new I hope you’re still carving and are going to put out some new content thank you and be safe
Thanks Jimmy ... I use acrylics. You can always mix up a color, but its easier if you can find on that you like ... I have used shades similar to burnt umber but some people prefer lighter tones for the muzzle. Thanks for watching :)
@@asculptedlife Hey Jeff, next week I will carve my first big black bear with a fish in her month. I was wondering if you use oil or water based paint for the black color. Also, do you seal your arts with oil based urethane/poly for protection? Mine will be installed outside. thanks again for your help!
@@romannepoitras8981 I use water based paints … as far as top coat goes it depends but more often than not I use a product called flood cwf Uv clear tone … I like it for a number of reasons.. waterbased, easy clean up, easy for clients to maintain and it’s very low sheen so if you have multiple colors it won’t get muted by some weird pigment
Great job Jeff. I'd like to see "Cracker Barrel" place one of your black bears in every restaurant they own around the country along with your products that many could afford.
Just found your channel and i love it. Get to learn something from a master is pretty great. I was wondering how do clients treat the sculpture afterwards if some are and some stains etc.??
Toni.. thanks for watching, I use both water and oil based stains and a topcoat (Flood cwf Uv clear tone ) It’s easy to apply for both me and clients and it leaves a very low sheen.. if you have numerous color tones the pigment won’t mute the colors too much, hope that helps :)

Do you have to do any special prep to use water based flood over oil stain, or just let it dry?
Loving the channel so far
