Yes, bring back downtown to what it was in the 50s Its the heart of the capital city which was neglected. When I was child downtown was the place to go. We had to dress up to go downtown.😅
Another quality video again highlighting things happening in a positive manner in the 876🇯🇲 Good work I like it Will be sharing this with others Looking out for more great content from one love Jamaica ♥️💛💚
We visited the pier in 2022 but it was closed. And there was not much to do in Port Royal!. Not much restaurant either except for Sylvia’s which is always crowded
Jamaicans need to take pride in themselves and the country. When I was a boy I used to go by the old gun beach for a swim during the summer. Now that is all gone because of neglect and people throwing their garbage in the natural environment.
That was always Kingston. People there litter in the past and now. I think it, however, points to a bigger issue of poor garbage collection and not enough rubbish bins there. They have cleaners in the early morning, but thats not enough. Country areas are different but tend to burn their rubbish a lot.
Don't typecast Jamaicans as partiers. I know there is also a very religious segment that attends church. Also, Nigerians and many West African cultures are notorious for dressing up very fancy and parting every chance they get, even more than Jamaicans.
I know right!!! I've realized that they zoom in on dancehall culture and magnify it as quintessentially Jamaican when it's nothing more than a subculture. Jamaican culture is so vast and complex yet we allow dancehall and Rastafarianism to become the face of a population where 63% identify as either Adventist or Pentecostal/Apostolic.
It very obvious that the place is not being maintained, And as you walk along the wall you will notice that there are many columns with pipes sticking out of them this is meant for lighting to be installed the place is incomplete and the prison Needs to be removed removed and the land developed
It is happening, but at a slow rate. To be honest the country is just starting to make the moves in the correct direction. We just have to be a bit patient. I’ll highlight a few more areas of development in the coming weeks.
That pavement wont be around long. The grass will destroy the bricks and all the money spent would have gone down the drain. It's not enough to build, you have to maintain what is built for it to last.
Are we watching the same video? It shows the sea, and for your information, waterfront is where the 7th deepest harbor in the world is located. You will see planes going to and from the airport as well as ships there.

I remember I was a little kid then. For me it was in the 60's. Our parents would take us to Victoria Park now Sir William Grant Park.

Nice effort.

They took down the flag poles when the hurricane Beyrl was coming to Jamaica.
Thank you for that clarification!

He is speaking the truth Jamaicans love to party instead of working. Got to mix it up. Partying alone does not get you anywhere.
The walkway need maintenance. Why build if we don't maintain and upkeep.
I agree, I hope that the authorities will act soon.
Oh.please why can you help to maintain the problem as a jamaican citizen at your own expense.
World Bank is a dirty word

Ok tell me something, why aren't Jamaicans developing the water front areas around the country?
It is happening, but at a slow rate. To be honest the country is just starting to make the moves in the correct direction.

It is happening it is not going to happen as fast as in the USA

I agree with you, let’s hope the authorities will ensure to have maintenance work done asap!!
They need to get back the flag circle going
True
It's the hurricane season. They will wait until after it's finished
What's the point of a "waterfront" when you can't see the water or ocean?
