I like this a lot. I ended up dropping the 1h + focus for a 2H Scythe for 240%[x] Blighted. Drop reanimation for Ultimate Shadow, and you still end up with an extra 80%[x] damage (120%[x] + 40%[x] = 160 vs 240). 2H Scythe has ~70% Bone Storm duration, Golem damage, and you can still hit the 100% minion attack speed needed for Cult Leader with Frenzied. We still hit crit cap with crit chance on gloves and rings, 30% from inspiring and 20% from Bone Storm. Don't need crit on amulet, so I put movement speed instead to reach cap. Minions have so many variations, it's a lot of fun figuring it out! I also dropped like 10k life ( since we double it anyway with Bone Storm ) to stack Dodge rating to ~45%. Will see how it plays out!
Pretty good timing brother! I switched to my own makeshift version of a shadow summoner build a day ago, but this is much more polished. I am absolutely ripping it now more than ever. Thanks for the content and your dedication!

For speed farming I’m really enjoying Otter’s Bombadier build. I threw in mages to cast bone spear with me and also added deathless visage. Tons of fun for open world content and have already cleared NMD 50 and I’m only level 82.
I fell like a jack wagon. I have learned so much from your channel from D4 launch day and like many kinda died off but season 4 has brought me back. I just realized I wasn’t subbed. I am now though lol you are my go to man when it comes to all things necro and the math behind it.

ABSOLUTE favorite build for necro. I level each job every season and this is one of my fave builds. Im crushing pit 100+ and solo’d all the tormenteds without even coming close to dying without even using holy bolts. Thx man. LOVE this.

I've been subscribed to you since the launch of Diablo 2 Resurrected and I was absolutely in love with your Necromancer guides there because I was the only friend in my group who played Necro as far as I'm concerned you are the best necro player I have ever seen
I was clearing lvl 75 pits with pure minion builds with a 2H weapon. It was doing very well damage wise but felt extremely squishy even with 38% dr on necklace and 44k hp. Switched to this build and it’s like I turned on godmode. Could tank pretty much everything. Golem was also hitting a lot harder too. But the clear time went down significantly. Then I spent like half an hour then finally figured out I’m sacrificing about 106% attack speed. By switching to this build. ( 45% from aspect , 25% from temper and 36% from key passive). I’ll try this build a bit more, but probably have to switch to the squishy 2H build and dodge everything for pushing higher.
I just got my first hardcore uber lilith kill with this build, ty for putting it together. I know s5 is coming but one thing I realized is with the golem board you can rotate it and mirror it to the left to pick up the golem damage rare node, then I put gravekeeper in it to boost the rare node to get ~+80% golem damage. anyway, thank you for your necro videos
time to pivot my level 100 necro and follow your guide so I can start pushing Pit. Love seeing the thought process of the build over what we are all currently doing. great content
That’s how I play. I’ll make up my own build for leveling until I hit a wall. Then it’s ok time to get serious. It takes out some of the monotony during leveling
I tried this build and the Vega build. This one was comfy but the Vega build was triple the dmg and I didn’t have any tempers or greater affixes. Appreciate all the work you put in on this guide
Today I was able to do a 70 pit with this build, I modified the skill tree a bit. Trust me, now I got incomplete glyphs and lower level gear than I had before this build and I was struggling to get 60 pit done. Cheers!

Great video and build guide -- thank you. Just cleared the Capstone at L35 without even breathing hard and with very suboptimal gear. One very weird thing - Aspect of the Void just doesn't seem to work. I don't see my Blight pools pulling in any enemies. I have tried it with Bone Prison as in the build, and with Blight alone. Nothing.

How relevant is this currently with the recent changes to the maxroll shadow minion build? Why is "damage to cursed" being used on that one? Why does that one scale shadow minions for the endgame variant when golem scales harder? I know you are not the one who wrote it but it does say you reviewed it. Just wondering your thoughts.
We generic-afied the build so that people with mage gear weren't screwed and made the additive damage relevant for all of your damage types. You're still primarily focusing on golem damage as your big nuke.
@@MacroBioBoi Gotcha. Would you say you're getting more overall damage output with the 94.3% damage to cursed, allowing your mages and warriors to benefit from it as well? Or would that still be lagging behind if you were to invest in the 152.3% from pure golem?
I've been levelling with blood surge/minion 1-50 and I'm surprised how viable its still is even late in WT4. The blood surge helps to get rid of trash mobs so the minions can focus on high health targets. Also, adding howl from below with auto CE is always fun. It feels like the new loot has increased power so much that you don't really need to specialize a lot before the pit.
This build justs better with age. I swapped Hulking for Aphotic for the increased cooldown. I tried adding chance to stun on hit, but my non minion attacks do not proc it enough to make it useful.
Hi, i found one improvement in paragaon board if i may. In Flash-Eater/Corporeal board you can have 68% more dmg to elite instead of some all resistance that is already above 70%.

Question about weapon choice, what do you think about 1h daggers or swords ? With 1h sword also having the same amount of base dmg and 1.1 aps - wouldn't the implicit crit damage also be good? I haven't really noticed the value of life on kill from the scythe yet.
I have no intention of playing Necro this season, even less intention of playing minions, but Im watching all the minion content for some reason, keep 'em coming Mac, doing good work.
Anything above tier 61 and this build struggles in the boss fight. I'd recommend the shadow minion build used by vega but swap out legs for temerity and use a 1h scythe/focus with blood mist on your bar.
I'm having some good luck with blighted corpse explosion and bone golem, with reapers and cold mages. Works pretty great with bloodless scream. Lots of cc and tons of damage. It's not millions but it's pretty good using tidal aspect and one that turns blood tide to darkness, hits like a truck. I'm new to the game and maybe not building right but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
Mac, in the video @ 2:44 you mentioned "updating with information" on Maxroll in the description "below", however I cannot seem to find that Shadow Minion Build on Maxroll. Maybe you never got around to it. However this morning, I did find on Maxroll "Shadow Minion Necromancer Endgame Build Guide" by Chronikz that was updated May 30th! I just tried it out. Compared to the normal necromancer build, I did a bit more dmg, but the strong point is definitely the increased survivabillity. I did Pit 63 without to much trouble. I think I could push for 70 with this build.

The thought process of this build is very similar to kripp's... which overall feel much better than those that focus on shadow mages. Cant decide territorial or undaunted...
Ive found blighted corpse explosion to be better than bone prison. Im able to get to 10 stacks of the aspect quicker and dont have to worry about essence or cooldown on blight/bone prison.

Iam playing right now speed shadow mage, corpse explosions for helltides and got annoyed everyone is playing army of dead ulti. Never felt good with cdr on rings. I have a big question. I had level with ring of Mendel n lv 26. And it was great, because the burst damage, with the mages. Is Mendel good enough these days? I dropped him with lv 80. 25 k dmg every 6. Attack. Does it scale with all other things? Or was it only good while leveling up? Great work.

I get the distinct feeling higher level pit floors are going to necessitate dumping either bone prison or tendrils in favor of blood mist. Judging by the scaling I've witnessed thus far as I progress through Pit, I would be really surprised if mist does not become a must-have.

This build is top notch and super fun! I've been crushing everything in the game. The pit around level 60 becomes challenging forcing me to play better but it's still doable. I only have about 1300 intelligence but my damage is sitting close to 30k. I notice you prioritize intelligence but I've managed to get some greater affix Damage rolls. Do the minions respond better to the intelligence stat or damage? Just want to know what to look for with drops. Also, is it just me or does rolling cool down reduction on the helm seem nearly impossible? I've spent nearly 100 million gold and can't roll it for squat but it's supposedly a possibility.

I'm running a Shadow Minion build, but a bit different. I'm using black river, howl from below and ring of mendeln with corpse explosion. Gonna try your version to see if I can get more damage output.

Yes, I second the notion of making a minion build for the easier content. I normally just do helltide, nightmare, and bosses/ubers.
I have been using bone prison since lvl 20 instead of tendrils. It can also pull in enemies. This is going to really help refine my build! Thanks!
Shielding Storm without Lidless Wall always feels bad to me.
Very disappointing that this season has increased drop rates so much, yet none of the uniques are useful 😅
Lidless wall is a minionless unique, This is a minion build
A very good alternative is flickerstep, really like it, and you can basically keep up bonestorm all the time, with enough mobs around you

Yes, shako would be the only uber that works with this build due to the fact that uniques can't utilize tempering.

this is the first time i see a minion build without army of the dead
I went up to pit 90, and this is when I remembered how bosses are so badly designed.

I just tried it out. Compared to the normal necromancer build, I did a bit more dmg, but the strong point is definitely the increased survivabillity. I did Pit 63 without to much trouble. I think I could push for 70 with this build.

The thought process of this build is very similar to kripp's... which overall feel much better than those that focus on shadow mages. Cant decide territorial or undaunted...

Ive found blighted corpse explosion to be better than bone prison. Im able to get to 10 stacks of the aspect quicker and dont have to worry about essence or cooldown on blight/bone prison.

Iam playing right now speed shadow mage, corpse explosions for helltides and got annoyed everyone is playing army of dead ulti.
Never felt good with cdr on rings.
I have a big question.
I had level with ring of Mendel n lv 26.
And it was great, because the burst damage, with the mages.
Is Mendel good enough these days? I dropped him with lv 80. 25 k dmg every 6. Attack.
Does it scale with all other things? Or was it only good while leveling up?

When you used to play corpse explosion and you put raise skeleton on that bind. Yes, sir, I assure it is happening plenty 😂
subbed. Great guide and clear explanation of everything! I have one question regarding the 1H weapon though. Couldn't a 1H sword also work well with the passisve crit strike damage? Or is the life on hit far better?
Also trying to find a question if I should use a 2h scythe for maximum damage, if the golem damage scales on weapon damage?
I get the distinct feeling higher level pit floors are going to necessitate dumping either bone prison or tendrils in favor of blood mist. Judging by the scaling I've witnessed thus far as I progress through Pit, I would be really surprised if mist does not become a must-have.

First time following one of your builds and having fun. So I dropped both a Shako and Andy 's today. Which one do I need? Both? Neither? Also is there place for a melted heart of selig in this setup? Thanks in advance.
This build is top notch and super fun! I've been crushing everything in the game. The pit around level 60 becomes challenging forcing me to play better but it's still doable.
I only have about 1300 intelligence but my damage is sitting close to 30k. I notice you prioritize intelligence but I've managed to get some greater affix Damage rolls.
Do the minions respond better to the intelligence stat or damage? Just want to know what to look for with drops.
Also, is it just me or does rolling cool down reduction on the helm seem nearly impossible? I've spent nearly 100 million gold and can't roll it for squat but it's supposedly a possibility.
Great vid! At what level do you think a young Necro should start running this build? Now I think about it, the answer is probably when you can get some of the important aspects on gear
Blighted has always been a codex power so yeah kinda good from the start. Void to pull enemies, and ultimate shadow were tough to find sometimes too

I'm running a Shadow Minion build, but a bit different. I'm using black river, howl from below and ring of mendeln with corpse explosion. Gonna try your version to see if I can get more damage output.
Btw have you tried to kill Lilith with this build yet? I'm curious to see if it can wreck her fast.
