Amazing, I have some rare footage of some thai on VHS. But mostly early 90s. I'm planning on doing a podcast soon on muay thai as well. I'm 41 years old and have had a 32 year relationship with muay thai.

Unbelievable i was searching for ages. Muay Thai VCDs and whatever they had i had everything. I found some Apideh Fights and some other Legends but DIESELNOI is a HONOR for me to see Material i dont believe it exist. You have to be honored from Thailand for this. I love that and nice idea with the Patreon Libary. THIS IS INSANE! I LOVE THAT. I have seen so many fight from CH5 7 Lumpinee Ranjadamnern and some Boran from a Village with the famous promoter i forgot. Where kids fought with bandages maybe 10 years old? Something with Blood was the VCD Title. But it was a long time ago. Sylvie really you are i cannot show it in words. Insane i dont believe this THANK YOU and greets to Diesel THE LEGEND. This was the most beautiful muai thai fight I have ever watched! Both are turbo insane fighters, both are perfect in their own way! The genious of Samart is mindbogling. To be able to work escape and avoid game on Dieselnoi is something that only he can do without being knocked out! That little exchange at 6:42 where dieselnoi throws a knee in the clinch and then samart throws a body kick from the exact same position really puts the reach difference into perspective.
I must say you guys are the best in showing how great muay thai is . After seeing this great lost footage 2 times now from your channel . These lost techniques are great . Especially how they use their hands to block and counter one another . I used to do this at grapplers all the time and even much bigger fighters and it works . I feel that muay thai now days have lost a lot of techniques and become too stiffed and stale that is why mma just wait and grapple you on the ground . For me this fight is the best fight i have ever seen in my life. Thank you for showing this to the world and showing more how great muayThai is. 🙏🙏🙏

How tall is Samart?
Sylvie, I'm sure that if you can reach right persons in the muay thai association or tv channels, you'll be able to ask for footages that you've never seen on the internet. I mean there was a tv show in thailand that reran very old matches, even older that this one. I tried to search those matches on the inter net but I couldn't find them. A nak muay as "หมัดขุนฆ้อน or หมัดขุนค้อน" can't be found at all on the internet , not only youtube. But I saw his fights on that tv shows and they were brilliant! Thai people never really care about archiving system. I'm so sure that many of them are still in reel cassettes or even in films, and never been digitalized yet. But nowadays you can just ask them to play those footages on a screen and record to digital easily.
Has dieselnoi seen this? Dieselnoi commentary now would be... extraordinary.

It's a little different than Archie Moore's cross-armed guards, as the lead arm is extended to spear or grab for the clinch, and the guard arm wraps around in a more extreme way. Femeu - it means "artful" in Thai. Muay Khao fighters are forward pressure knee fighters, often facing Femeu, artful, technical fighters.
@@8limbsUs that helps alot at my local mma gym my muay thai instructor tells me since I'm a ex boxer learn the leg licks like a "muay matt" fighter . Heavy hands and low kicks is my style apparantly.
@@TheKillaMethod Yeah I realized I fought in a Muay Mat style by default since I wasn't flexible and my hands were my best weapons. I've become more flexible and versatile with my kicks and fight more as a Muay Femur, so I shift between the two.

If I remember correctly, this was their 3rd fight. Diesel-noi lost the first two fight. Many said Diesel-noi was born too soon. If he were 15-20 years younger, he would be fighting around this time. He would easily find foreign fighters to fight with.
No, they only fought one time. This fight. You are probably thinking of his reported fights vs Sagat. Sagat erroneously said, or it was posted in an interview, that he fought Dieselnoi 3x, beating him twice. This is incorrect. They fought only two times, and Diselnoi beat Sagat both times. Both Sagat and Diselnoi have personally told me this. Dieselnoi was undefeated vs both Samart and Sagat.
@@8limbsUs My mistake, maybe he fought Wicharn-noi Porntawee. I rememner went back to Thailand right after he fought this fighter the 3rd. time, which Diesel-noi changed his fight strategy and won.

Dieselnoi was 129lbs - Samart was 131lbs. Yes, Samart (the smaller fighter) was heavier -- Dieselnoi had to cut 15lbs or so to make this fight with only a bowl of rice that entire day while sitting in the chicken coop (hot house) to sweat all his weight off just to make the weight for the fight!
So, Dieselnoi had little to no real power or energy and that's how much he dominated.
He said he'd never have cut that much weight again. Gave him severe health problems following the fight.

The thing is, Samart was thee prodigy and genius of his era (and perhaps of all time) due to his analytical eye and reaction timing and even he couldn't figure a way to stop Dieselnoi. What's great is they are both the #1 or #2 best Yod Muay ever and they actually had a catchweight fight.
