El Segundo 5 Minute Express Car Wash

Located just south of LAX, El Segundo 5 Minute Express Car Wash is one of Southern California's busiest car washes. NS has previously used the location to test equipment, and the tunnel is constantly upgraded with new equipment.
The wash tunnel has a 180' Econocraft conveyor, and has a mix of equipment from a variety of manufacturers. They have an Econocraft 8 basket combo mitter, Econocraft wheel brushes with onboard high pressure, 2 sets of Econocraft wraps, NS Vortex high pressure arch, Peco MC08 retractable side to side polish mitter, NS top brush, Econocraft 40" side brushes, Tangent 4 basket spinning mitter, MacNeil RS-550 Sonic wheel brushes, Peco MC06 retractable polish mitter, 9 producer International Drying Corporation Spyder drying system, Protovest S130 blower, MCWW Dry N Shine top brush and van brushes, and MCWW Super Shiner tire shiners. El Segundo 5 Minute Express Car Wash uses NCS chemistry, and their top package includes the lava bath, gorilla wax, tri color, carnauba wax, Dry N Shine, double wheel cleaning, and tire shine.

Why do the mitters go to the side for some of the cars? Do they have an option for touchless wash?

The Peco mitters are extra services. The side to side unit only activates on the top 2 packages, and the front to back unit only activates in the top package. They are intended to only rub in the application applied immediately before them.
