First show is on Friday, and since the football players haven’t *given us the field to practice on yet* , it’s the first time we’re marching on grass. First time for me to ever march because I’m a freshman, but I’m so excited! Us baritones have a very fun feature a little over halfway into Part 1, so I just hope I don’t mess it up. I think the bodywork is what’s screwing me up there because it doesn’t exactly go with our part. I’ll ask my section leaders to go over that with us one more time before we perform. Another thing I need to work on: keeping my horn up! Y’all, baritone is *so* heavy. My arms keep dropping around the end of our piece and it’s sad. My weak nerd arms are just getting used to this, but barely. I need to do some strength training. Next year I wanna march euph so I need to work on holding up even move weight for that. At least I have really good tone. Pretty proud of my tone. Anyway, I don’t know why I typed all of this out, idk if anyone cares, but whatever. I like reading things like this in the comments of random videos, so I’m gonna leave one here for someone else to read. Go practice!
Don't worry, I read it for ya. I can relate. As a freshman last year, I had trouble holding up my horn (I play French horn bty). All I can say is do your best. You can't really do anything as a freshman. Your body just has to get used to it, and it will. It will get much easier next year. I was surprised by how ez I could march this year. Hope you have fun with your game tho! Have a great day bro!
OH MY G O S H THAT'S HOW MY BAND IS TOO!! We have to practice on the baseball field (which we had to paint ourselves lol) and we never get to use the football field bc football is too important to be bothered for band kids (UGH), and our first performance is on the 24th for our hoco game. I'm a junior and I march flute, so i don't have trouble with marching (anymoRe LOL), but i'm rly worried bc our band rly sucks and i'm afraid it's not gonna go very swell... but anyways, GOOD LUCK BESTIE, I BELIEVE IN YOU!!! YOU'RE GONNA DO SOOOO FREAKING GREAT AND IT'S GONNA BE SUCH AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! I JUST *KNOW* YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN TOO, TRY NOT TO STRESS TOO MUCH!!! :)!!
@@caseysalinas39 Have fun with your show! and thanks, it’s gonna be awesome. 2 hours to go; I’m so excited! I finally got that body work down, too, so it’s gonna be a breeze hopefully. And when we exit the field, I’m leading the band off because I’m at the tip of our formation! Freaking out but soooo excited!

However, we do have a big state competition in less than 3 weeks and we need to learn part 3 before then

19:00 heres mine: in 8th grade, i had decided that art isnt for me, so i became bored with the constant cycle of it. Eventually, our teacher was out for the day and we had to separate into other classes, and i had been invited to watch the band. I was ASTOUNDED by what they could do and i was super impressed wirh these other 14 year olds doing what they could. Now, i was originally scared away from band since my sister didnt have a good time while in the program since the director at the time was kinda rude. So, while i was considering how she wouldve felt (it wasnt postive, she still doesn't like that im still involved). I went up to my parents to ask if i could joincand they said yes! And the next day i had gone up to him to tell him that i could (cuz he asked previously) and he was excited! I decided to join percussion since my dear friends were there. I had a hard time learning and adjusting but now im a sophomore, in my second year of marching band, hoping i could continue on during college ❤ i still have a long way to go but im excited for this path :)
I sort of just finished my first year in marching band, and our band had 1 baritone. Also only one trombone. Yes I had a section of two. Also the woodwinds were like 4 times larger than the brass. Not even joking, the brass had about 11 in total I think
We just had our first competition yesterday. It was a bit of a rollercoaster because the announcer left an entire ten points off our score during awards!
In my country we don't have all kinds of different clubs that are organized by our school etc (unfortunately) so I'm just part of the music organization in my town. But I can still relate to a lot of these tiktoks. And they're hilarious lmfao (I play french horn btw)
4:49 we were going to get to play this song this year, but some mf-ing parent snitched to the band director's that this song was "inappropriate", despite the fact that we play songs like Uma Thurman, so now, we can't play it anymore.
I have a question for all Upperclassmen (Junior/Senior) marching band members. Do you guys ever like choose 1 or 2 favorite rookies orrr?? I am asking this question for no particular reason whatsoever.

2017 blue coats snare opener on jiggle bells 2
19:00 heres mine:
in 8th grade, i had decided that art isnt for me, so i became bored with the constant cycle of it.
6:40 thats exactly how our routine for dancing queen is 🥲
20:46 why is this such calming music?
20:18 as a clarinet, I can confirm I do dance like that. They only time I will dance any other way is if I have to do it for a play.
I sort of just finished my first year in marching band, and our band had 1 baritone. Also only one trombone. Yes I had a section of two. Also the woodwinds were like 4 times larger than the brass. Not even joking, the brass had about 11 in total I think
The TikTok at 4:14 is my fave so far because no one else in my band plays the same instrument but my i play the only bass clarinet in the band
And they're hilarious lmfao
(I play french horn btw)
4:49 we were going to get to play this song this year, but some mf-ing parent snitched to the band director's that this song was "inappropriate", despite the fact that we play songs like Uma Thurman, so now, we can't play it anymore.
I love how you included the color guard
I have a question for all Upperclassmen (Junior/Senior) marching band members. Do you guys ever like choose 1 or 2 favorite rookies orrr?? I am asking this question for no particular reason whatsoever.
The jig 2 thing is mainly a drum line. Ima percussionist but I play front ensemble
Damn, saw the dude playing a part from Sketches of Spain. My favorite Miles Davis album.
also holy cow i did not realize so many other bands were learning industry baby sjsj
our band learned it too and played it during halftime last game .D!
