      I think if Ford built the Mustang 2 like this, I don't see why anyone would hate them. Unfortunately, the oil crisis did more harm than anything to the Mustang 2 imo.

    My very first automobile was a Brand new 1976 V8 4 speed coupe, I was 17 when I signed the loan papers, and took delivery. I ordered it with no A/C, and Traction Lok differential, and the coupe was 150lbs. lighter than the fastback. My goal, whip every 1976, and later stock GM vehicle that I could line up against, on the street. Take a guess how many I lost too?

    I had a black '77 coupe in high school with a 2v 302. It had a C4 auto and red interior. Great little car...fastest to 0-60 in high school. However, no weight in the back...totaled it on some black ice on a bridge. YOURS is BADASS! Great job...brought back some memories.

      280Zs are bad ass!! this was a 4cyl/4-speed as well when i started with it. there's video here of day 1, prior to the build. you can find it on my page. originally built it as an automatic, and basically stock suspension, but all new, after one summer, i decided to tear that all out and put yet another rear end under it...and changed up the whole suspension and drive train and that's where it landed that next summer. :D

    I'm building a 78 mustang II now, in like what you did in the rear end. what are you using for a setup?

    • @phestur13
      @phestur13  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      the rear end is an 8.8 out of a 2008 GT, 3.28 gears, narrowed 2.5" with Moser axles, Caltrac traction set up, but custom sized to fit the II platform, willwood discs and adjustable rear shocks, i stayed with the leaf spring set up, but may in the future go 4-link and go coil overs. the front i did go coil over.

    Hi! My husband just bought a 1976 mustang II coupe.. He's planning to do a full restoration on the car although the body is still in great condition.. He already has a '65 mustang coupe and has already bought some sheet metal from cjponyparts.com. The problem is that there seem to be no aftermarket sheet metal or other parts for the mustang II.. Can you anyone recmmend us a website or a place where we can order parts for this car? Again, the car is in great shape with no rust. But just in case we do find rusted areas, it would be of great help if we know where to find sheet metal or other parts for this little coupe.. Thanks from the philippines..

      The engine is a 5.0 liter [302] block bored to 347 CID the crank and rods lengthened to give it a broader stroke thus making it a 347 stroker. i think it is awesome that you, in Russia, is into the American muscle cars, very cool!! i'll answer any questions you may have on the cars and engines!! to the best of my knowledge. i have built many.
