- Ren is a very talented singer, songwriter, producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist. He is probably, not from this planet. He is a member of The Big Push Band and also has played together with various musicians and buskers. He is a very well-known face around Brighton’s busking scene and has been performing to ecstatic crowds for years, with early beginnings in the music industry coming when he was discovered performing on the streets of Bath, as part of indie-pop band Trick the Fox.
Despite having built a loyal fan base, due to health issues, Ren was forced to halt his music endeavours and move home to Brighton. During what he describes as ‘a time of isolation’, Ren was bed-bound for years having been diagnosed with Lyme Disease.
After channelling his frustration into song writing and producing from his bedroom, Ren is now going to do an specific treatment for the disease. Once he is 100%, he will be ready to share more of his amazing music/art with the world.

About his band The Big Push. Brighton based band The Big Push consists of three front men Ren, Romain Axisa and Gorran Kendall and drummer Glenn Chambers. Drawing elements from classic brit-bands like The Beatles or The Police, they craft their clever modern arrangements into catchy pop tunes.
Playing rock n roll, with a crazed kind of energy and authentic sound, The Big Push met busking in Brighton. Coming from four fairly different backgrounds, they have managed to create an authentic and original sound.
The four-piece sold out their first ever official hometown show at Chalk last October, and followed up with a full-capacity o2 Academy Islington headline in March 2020, just before lockdown hit the UK.
Over the last year the boys have created quite a buzz both nationally and to more worldwide acclaim amassing over 1.2 Million streams on Spotify and 12 Million views on TH-cam. Having achieved such staggering success online, their fanbase now reaches across the world.

I’m a born and raised New Yorker. I’ve seen a million buskers, but NEVER like this. I can’t imagine hearing this on street and not stopping and falling to my knees at such an amazing talent. Like CLEARLY this guy is a one in a million, superstar talent! I want to shake every person just walking by like they aren’t witnessing a freakin MIRACLE
I live somewhere where you never see street performers like this. Even in the city theres only a few places in the tourist areas where they can perform. And even then there were seats for people. You didnt see anyone sitting on the ground. On Rens videos it looks like people are sitting there all day listening to him. Did you ever see those types of crowds at any street performances in NY?
that one beach town brighton regularly saw REN, Sam Tompkins, chinchilla, and the big push plus many others I don’t know nearly as good. It’s incredible the talent just plugging in on the sidewalks there. Bless the town for allowing it. I heard R&S say one time they had told people they’d be on a block at a certain time and when they pulled up no cap 1000 people were waiting. For a busking appearance. !!

Apart from skill and talent, the fact he gives the same performance whether there are hundreds of people watching and listening or whether everyone is walking past not realizing what they are missing is what makes him special!

I accidentally saw The Animals on a tiny stage in a town square in Malta. There was no announcement, they just played as part of a music festival. Less than 10 of us watched.

What a set of pipes - several moments in Ren's own songs where he shows his vocal ability, but this is one of those vocal heavy songs that really highlights how well he can sing and how powerful his voice is.

I'm one of the ones who fell into the rabbit hole... And I just found this amazing re-creation now. Not only is his singing heart-tingling as always, but that guitar!!!! Hey Ren - The song was around much earlier than the Animals...it was an old English folk song that was first recorded in the 1930's by two guys from Appalachia, the lyrics go back as early as 1905 from some English Miners. Yes of course Eric Burton and the Animals made it famous in 1964 while on tour w/ Chuck Berry. There is a possibility that it goes back as far as the Civil War by Enoch Ashley who was Tom Ashley's grandfather who taught him the song.
