    The P38 Range Rover was indeed a Press car . As a motoring writer I drove it at the press launch . I have pictures of the press fleet lined up at our hotel . You simply choose which one you wanted to try and off you went with a fellow journalist or LR executive. Diesel or Petrol , SE or HSE, manual or auto. If my memory serves me right, we were wined and dined at Clivedon which was the launch base having been flown down to Heathrow from Manchester. Those were the days

    Rick - that was spectacular ! By far the BEST way to see the show. 'Other' videos show it live and the noise and camera work is not always the best, so hats off to you for spending the time to create this version for us. I'd take away the Princess 4 litre R, SAAB 93, any of the Armstrong Siddeleys or that gorgeous Transit Camper. Brilliant collection of pictures - thanks once again. Take care 🙂

      Thanks, it seems to work when trying to pack in as many exhibits as possible into a single upload, this way I can easily pick and choose a bit although it does take much longer to put together than a regular "walk and talk" vid. Thanks for watching.

    1:32:02 Are you sure the Mini Clubman isn't just Harvest Gold, Rick? (Possibly a trick of the lighting?)

    Good One RJ I want to go as the club I am member of was exhibiting there but for certain reasons I cannot go to far away from home at the moment. There were some Polish guys doing a FSO Polonez there which was stunning. I am going to have to watch this in 2 sittings I am afraid. but watch it I will.

    Hi from Australia I'm in my 70's and not very mobile, so I go to car shows on you tube. Your"s and Harley's are the most enjoyable by far. Well done!

    Seeing those 'bergerac' triumphs,reminds me of when john nettles did a celebrity antiques road trip,and he was hoping that he wouldn't have to drive one. A guess what car they gave him. Beautiful looking cars. Enjoyed this video,nice music xx

    My, what an eclectic selection of cars; thank you for sharing. Loved seeing the barn finds. The exhibitors must have put an enormous amount of effort into their displays, and there must be many classic car restoration widows around!

    Nice video again Rick, good to see the Gordon Keeble right at the end. There’s a chap who lives not far from me and he’s got one in a dark green colour. Stunning looking car, the styling looks Italian in some respects, and not a car you see every day. Thanks for sharing.

    This was a much better way to see the show without all the noise and poor camera work that other TH-camrs have put up. Well done Rick! 👍

    Hi Rick. Good viewing. I was there Friday but you showed a few I didn't see. The green SD1 with the bare rusted bonnet belongs to SD1 Nut James. His Nitrosilvia channel has lots of SD1 content plus others. He's been doing up one of the diesel SD1s which are pretty rare. I also liked the Honda 1300 coupe. Never seen one before. The lady that owned it said there are some in Australia and New Zealand and all the owners try and help each other out. Thanks for the coverage I enjoyed a revisit. Mart in Solihull.

    A super trip down memory lane, though any such occasion brings on the sadness and nostalgia of former lost opportunities and mistakes of both car ownership and competition motors. However the reality is that no one has yet has discovered how to turn back time, and it will not stop me watching both yours and sons super videos because they are truly and enjoyable entertainment for very old petrol head like me! Thanks! Rob

    I just loved seeing the Saporo. I remember looking at new ones with my Dad at the Chrysler dealer. They are beyond rare here in America but I'd love to own one someday.

    Occ, you reminded me with that gold manta that they were booted and hatched, the hatch being very like the cav mk1 sports hatch of the 70s .
    I did love that audi coupe with the very bottle green interior.

    Hi. I think I have mentioned to you that my father in the 1970s bought a 1948 Wolseley just like the one shown in your pics. It was black with the fog lamps in the front. I like the Vauxhall Ventora, a car that we didn't sell here in NZ. The General Motors Holden Torana from Australia was the reason why. The Lotus Europa is cool.

    Me again. The Austin Allegro was very advanced in car design. It was released over 50 years ago now and when compared to today's new cars styling , it doesn't look very dated. If you know what I mean. Very interesting restoration projects there.

    • @oldclassiccarUK
      @oldclassiccarUK  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The Allegro was destined to be a much sleeker car had the designer got his way, but the end result was a lot dumpier looking than the early drawings suggested.

    • @Carl-x8y3c
      @Carl-x8y3c 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @oldclassiccarUK I remember reading in a car magazine in the early 1970s about the Austin Allegro had a square styled steering wheel. Some cars were built with it, then it was found to be better to have a round steering wheel. And they changed it. Am I right ?.
