Billionaires are able to take extra time in their day for things because they have more time on their hands than most of us. They pay people to cook their food, clean their house, run their errands. Makes it a lot easier to take their sweet ass time in the mornings lol

I keep thinking this same thing, I have two kids and to do all this I would have to be up by 4am so I could get everything else I have to do finished. It strikes me as a very self indulgent morning routine that doesn’t evenly disperse your relax and focus time more evenly throughout the day. I would be burnt out by evening and not be able to relax and wind down before I went to bed!

    • @Cattylerd
      @Cattylerd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

I don’t think that’s fair. Many wealthy people also make it a priority to wake up much earlier than your average person. While most employees wake up an hour before work or hit the snooze button until they have to run out the door, entrepreneurs/ wealthy business people tend to start their day at 4am.
It took Taylor 3 hrs to get the morning routine done (minus the extra 30 minutes for her doctors appointment) so if she had started her day at 4am or 5am she would have been done with plenty of time to make it to work if she had your average 9-5 job. I think it just really comes down to your priorities and what you are will to do to make your day more focused and productive 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@Cattylerd I used to buy into this idea but I just don't anymore.
Everyone I know is working their ass off 24/7 just to exist and get their bills paid. It has nothing to do with priorities. Most people just do not have time for the things that the rich have time for. I have friends who have 3 hour morning routines that consist of laundry, cooking, cleaning, getting their kids ready etc, etc. The idea of a morning routine like this is unfeasible for a lot of people. It also isn't going to make you a suddenly successful person because that's not how the world works.

Try prepping your lunch the night before; Also ad one or 2 snacks to take along. In addition, on 3 days each week make breakfast a smoothie that you can take with you on your way to work. Lay out your outfit/accessories the night before too, it speeds everything up in the morning. I also have an every day makeup routine that takes no more than twenty minutes. I can be out the door, nicely put together, within one hour of waking up.

    • @jamiemaxcold9325

@@viannam5483 so you have time to read 20 minutes, meditate, write in a journal, and do whatever else this billionaire does just from laying your clothes out the night before & making your meals ahead of time? I already lay my clothes out & I prefer fresh food. it takes me 10 minutes to do my makeup. My walk/routine with my dogs takes an hour of my time & then another hour to workout. So by 7-7:30 I’ve worked out and taken my dogs on a walk/potty twice and fed them. Then I have about 45 minutes to get myself ready before my 40 minute drive to work. I guess my point is the morning routine is not realistic. But, it was fun to watch her try it out.

Such a cool video! Lol, when you said ~tea person~ I felt that. For journaling, I have a five-year journal and it’s just a few lines a day. I just write what happened during the day; there are a lot of “normal” entries where I stay at home and work, but there are also entries that detail some of my worst and best days, and that’s valuable for me. I can see myself growing as a person. I’m a little over halfway done writing in it (2.75/5 years), so it’s something I really value and recommend!

Don't overthink the journaling, just start writing. About anything or something really mundane. It's a way to kinda let your mind spill things out that could end up being helpful that you never thought about consciously. Just a little relay of my personal experience with journaling. Thank you for this video

I used to buy so many journals and then felt like I never had any important thoughts to put in them. More recently, during the pandemic I've taken more toward Journaling just whatever I'm thinking about. Since I live alone I dont constantly have someone to just say my random thoughts to so I write them down. Honestly the most boring journal ever and I never read it back but its good for me to just babble to my journal sometimes.

I shower at night, so this routine already feels weird to me. I don't have the luxury of time to do all or even half those recommended steps unless I want to wake up before the sun rises, so while I can appreciate the method and intention, it's just not for me. Journalling before bed is something I do when I have a lot of thoughts so that I can kind of "release" them instead of trying to sleep with those thoughts swirling around in my head. It's a good way for me to reflect on the day, too. While I'm not really a morning person, I can be productive in the day time so long as I've had my coffee, so I'm with you there on that, Taylor.
This was a fun one to watch! I'm sure you'll find your balance. By the way, I'm also a planner and do my planning the night or even day before so that I can just get going.

I tried this this morning, and I have thoughts...
I first watched your video last night, and it motivated me to do this in the morning. I woke up at 5:50. And didn't finish until almost 9 am! I don't feel that I lollygagged, I took it seriously.
The only time it took me longer was the recalling my dreams, because I couldn't remember if there was a time limit for this part, so I did 10 min.
Everything else I felt I did in the allotted time. I didn't even wash my hair, and I did super minimal makeup, and my hair ended up in a pony tail. Also side note with my shower, even my shower water was like "Heck No" to the cold shower. After like 2 min it started to get warm, so I had a warm shower. Which was a hell of a lot pleasant than freezing my sanity off!
I too snuck in some coffee while I was reading. In the past when I would try meditating or deep breathing, that's when I would also relax and have some coffee.
I almost would rather add a little more time to the high/moderate intensity movement vs the meditation.
Also, if you aren't a journaler, I have a drawing journal which has inspired me much more. Every day you get a prompt and your "journal" is done visually. Some days I just doodle a bit and it's fun.
I do think I will do this routine on days I work from home and maybe weekends. But unfortunately it would have to be very modified in order for me not to have to wake up at like 4 am when I have to go into the office.
But, I will say, I feel good today!
Also, I would love to see your modification of this routine!

I’ve never heard of this either, but I agree that a solid morning routine is golden for a successful start of the day. I do my meditation in bed while I’m still laying there and my mind hasn’t had time to get busy. I think doing a list at night helps this a lot because my mind does wake up ready to go. I do a five minute listen to waves or vibration rising music while breathing then 10 minutes of guided meditation. Then I do water and tea and a 2 mile walk. Then I may have a smoothie or oatmeal and fruit depending on how strenuous the walk was. Then I’m ready to start work or school or whatever I’m doing that day.
I do coffee at my mid morning break. I find the caffeine is more lasting that way.
I journal at night to make sure I dump it all so I can sleep soundly.
On good days I have time to do a quick art project in the morning while listening to an audiobook or podcast. Other times I may do one at night or save up for a large project on the weekend.

I find for morning journalling what I like to do is a set of gratitudes - so I think of three things that I am grateful for that day which are usually from happened the previous day and then I do some affirmations. so rather than being an emotion dump or emotional introspection if becomes a way to start your day very positively. Also for reading I do 10 minutes of nonfiction reading rather than relaxation type reading I’m currently reading ‘the happiness advantage, which is an awesome book and also Ted talk and a great simple finance book is the latte factor by David Bach. My reading is a timed 10 minutes and the gratitudes take probably five and the affirmations probably another five so it’s a much shorter morning routine. I probably should incorporate some meditation or stretching or breathing but I have to do coffee before all else

This totally reminds me of the Miracle Morning routine but it is MUCH shorter. You do 10 minutes each of Silence, Affirmations, Visualizations, Exercise, Reading and Scribing (the Life SAVERS). Basically meditation, writing down some positive things for your day, visualizing how your day is going to go, quick exercise that gets your heart beating, reading any type of book and then journaling. It is an hour but there is also a 6 minute version where you only do a minute of each on days you just don’t have time. I used to do it every day (after coffee and breakfast!!) and it really was incredibly helpful and motivating. This makes me want to get back into it!

I don't do well with pen to paper just because it hurts my hands to write like that BUT I enjoy opening a google doc and just brain dumping for a few pages or whatever I need. I am a person that otherwise doesn't delve into my thoughts and emotions (that is why I do well with therapy because I have a "safe space" to do so) but typing without worrying about grammar or spelling and just letting my hands almost work faster than my brain really helps me get to the root of what is going on. I don't think most of this is achievable every day for most of us but if take things like meditation or writing and try to fit them in as self care (heck put a face mask on first if you need to) I think it helps to be more in touch with your emotional and spiritual self. Take care of yourselves!

  • @coffeegirl18

I'd look into mindfulness meditation with a small object. I thought my brain was broken from lupus and I couldn't meditate. I would sit super still and quit when I started aching/spasming....My mediation teacher said to just pause my meditation and change position instead.
I used to like journaling and I have issues figuring it out because I think everything I'd want to write down was stupid. I ended up getting a 5 minute journal and it gives you some quick prompts to fill in and that's the end of it. It usually helps but I've had an insane week and I need to change my therapist.
This video had awesome timing. I just changed up my morning routine. I've been waking up reading a book then doing bed yoga...moving into stretches and then getting up to get coffee. I find it's easier on my knees than just jumping out of bed. I also work best at night which works for me as I'm studying to be a Video Editor.

As someone with an hour commute to work each morning, this routine seems unrealistic without a 3am wake up time. We all need to take in our individual needs and situations like getting children ready in the morning or have a good/bad pain day. We are most successful when we set realistic goal and expectations for ourselves and our environment. ❤️

My favorite video you’ve done! The only way I’ve found the cold shower thing people rave about to work for me is to just put it cold for a few seconds right before I get out. I love long showers so it kind of motivates me to get out and wakes me up.

I’ve done showers where you end it with cold water. Apparently good for hair and skin. Those are hard enough and that’s only like 30 seconds 🤣. Us peeps with long/thick hair struggle with quick showers.

When it comes to that cold shower I’ve read about that and it’s supposed to help a lot but I do start with a nice hot shower more warmer as a Trichologist I find that it does help to open everything up and clear everything out but as I’m finishing up my shower when I’m rinsing off my conditioner or my hair mask I start cooling down the water and by the time I’m done I’m in cool water and then I turn it off so you still get that wakefulness that it does to the body and closes down so the moisture and everything stays within the body and the hair cuticle.

Oh, I have tried a cold shower and I feel miserable 😅 I can do without coffee or tea for a while but I need lots of water first thing, I literally drink from my walk out of bed to the bathroom 😅 If I'm working from home I always go for a walk and get my heart rate up so I love that. The reading , journaling and meditation I would also do in the evening. I have tried starting to meditate or just be in the moment and not think and it can be so hard! Like wtf 40 minutes 😅 but I really like how calm I feel even for just some minutes so might start doing that more regularly 😁

I find turning the temp down gradually, and stepping in and out of the water as you turn it down (assuming your shower is big enough) helps. It’s colder out in the air when you’re wet so stepping back into the water even if it’s slightly colder than before, is still warmer than being out of the water. Haha bit by bit..

I make my bed first thing in the morning ALWAYS if I don't I get anxious. Also I love to open my window and just lay down for about 5 mins once my bed is done with the fan on me. As far as showers go I love cool not cold showers in the morning it helps me wake up and if I shower at night then I like very warm showers because the temp shock when you get out of the hot environment into a cool one will help you fall asleep.

I think mindfulness is good- you're probably better at it than you think. Chronic pain really keeps you in the moment! Also just recognizing your thoughts and feelings without judgement (what *should* I be thinking, or that feeling is wrong/weak, etc. - it just kind of *is* what's happening😊) And enjoying tiny moments of goodness (coffee!). Cold shower hell no💜

Hi!! As a meditation/yoga teacher i just had to pop in & say the whole point of meditation isn’t to get rid of the random thoughts & plans- it’s to notice that your thoughts are distracting you & returning back to your breath! you’re not “bad” at meditating because your mind wonders, that’s just a part of the practice. it’s about connecting with your breath & finding stillness💗 it might help to think to yourself “i’m breathing in, i’m breathing out” with each breath!

The cold shower is crazy! For a couple of years I've taken Align Dualbiotic gummies. It's a Prebiotic and Probiotic. The gummies..orange, grape and cherry taste really good too. I started journaling in 2019. I don't do it every day. But glad I have it to journal how life has been in the pandemic. It's a piece of history for my children & grandchildren. I'm with you, reading at bedtime is something I look forward to every night. This was a very interesting video.

I was feeling this and even had a notebook and wrote down each step. Then I got to the cold shower part and died a little. My boyfriend makes fun of me all the time because my skin could melt off in the shower and I’m good. 😂 I do wash my face with lukewarm water, though. Does this count? Imma try a cold shot for like 5 seconds and go from there haha.
I can see myself doing the recalling of dreams, make bed, short meditation, take vitamins, coffeeeeeee, then while I’m sippin’ on said coffee, I’d journal and read. I feel motivated watching this. I work from home now and sometimes I don’t feel as accomplished as I used to even after a full work day. I can see being more intentional about this stuff being helpful :)

Ummm nope way to much to do in the mornings, however I have found nighty routines work so much better for me , to have a slower morning..... like I used to make my bed every morning, but in reality I could still sleep in a messy bed ...right .... but loading the dishwasher every night , waking to a clean kitchen was hands down the best thing ever ! Can't cook in a dirty kitchen! I think he is living fantasy self - not a real life person .... but I guess there are a few things we could try .... I do say in love the 2 minute rule , set a timer for 2 minutes see how much you can get done and leave it at that ....it works great with kids ! Great video 💜

The journal part, about not knowing what to write. I am a journal writer and has been since I was a kid. It's vital for me. Sometimes I feel the need to write, but don't know about what. And I start with that.. "I don't know what to write, but.. this is my day and this is how I feel about this and that. My mood has been off/good..". I also write a lot about skincare.. progress, reviews and such. Sometimes I just have a rage rampage, writing down all my anger about something or someone.
It's hard to start, and hard to stop. I can easily cover three or four A4 pages with nonsense.

I shower in warm water to make sure shampoo, conditioner, etc are washed off my skin, and out of my hair (plus, it makes me feel clean!).
