That secret door feature is really cool. I like that they made the structures a bit bigger. Now I won’t feel so claustrophobic when I wanna build one wall high 😂
I’ve always been a big fan of stone structures, and as much as I love the old ones I will say, I’m completely digging the new, almost castle like look of the ones in ASA They weren’t kidding when they said buildings where getting an overhaul
I think most of it looks better, but I honstly think the old tek structures looks better than the new ones. And as some others have mentioned, it looks a little cartoonish, but I can live with that. And most of it, except for the Tek stuff looks way better than the old and I like that they have made the walls taller. And the landscapes and the ocean looks stunningly good. But the game is filled with bugs, have problems with FPS and crashes a little too much for my liking. So i properly wait a little, before buying it.
I like the old structures too but I'm pretty sure they they had to shave off a lot of the edges and bumps on the textures of the building to reduce from rendering in all of it
The new models look nice. A few new building pieces but I was really hoping they would have taken a page from Valheim and added even more options (the different slopes on the roofs and the different sized beams. All in all I will still feed my Ark addiction.
Im sorry, but i just cant understand why so many peoole say that this is worse than the original ase when it came out, all of the things i saw like construction in this video is so much better... I get if it is either nostalgia or negation, but its just an upgrade to me, except optimization, thsts straigjt up bs.. Really looking forward on what they do with this new beginning!!

@@elhyper4232 Feel like its a multitude of things, the bad and ugly ui, the building ui, the character models, it doesent feel or look like what weve been shown from the devs, maybe its my settings that need tweaking but im just not a fan of it atm, i am keeping an open mind though and hoping that it improves
I'd be really interested to know how snapping works in ASA, when a ceiling is snapped on top of a wall and another wall is snapped on top of that cieling, how does ASA handle that? In ASE you were supposed to be able to snap to either the wall or the ceiling but in reality the system used to get confused with loads of snap fighting, indicating you were about to snap in a particular place then snapping somewhere completely different. The only way round it was to build your base in a certain order, e.g walls before floors, else you would have lots of odd shaped gaps in your ceilings and walls where you snapped something to the wrong point. Does ASA improve on any of this?

I can just imagine making a section of your roof, say a 2x2, Tek cellar doors, and then you can fly your Pt or Argy through the top of your base without having an open hole there. Thay would be sick!
The new indy grill model looks amazing, same with the mortar and pestle. Everything looks greats though and can't wait to play with the new structures and building mechanics.
Like the new looks but feel like there could be more variations and styles of all these parts the Stone roofs look plane to me and id like other styles of windows and the ability to make rugs wall art and hang dino heads on my walls and on spears around my base potted plants would be cool aswell

Do the secret doors have the same health as the walls if not its a pointless giveaway. Also light in dark areas or night as metal with lamps just blinded you before one of the many reasons I never bothered building in metal.o that annoying clunk when walking on it seems removed also.
Ok I like some of the changes. But here are things I don't like thatch . I like the old thatch look over new it and the game play I have seen looks clay texture I don't care for that it looks cartoonist. I thought the industrial forge was to be smaller as posted by wc . Wood needs to be alittle darker has that clay look to it but looks good . Love stone and metal tek looks the same . That's a shame but it's ok . Over if they work on these things I'll but it .
Upgraded graphics and model updates simt enough to make me buy this game a fourth time. I already for it when it was just a pre-release. I then had to buy it again when it was fully released, I then had to buy the next gen version of it, and now I have to buy another next gen upgrade? I mean come on..
thatch is shit, wood is to clean for me, the stone is wicked, i dont mind the metal isnt to bad little to clean i kinda like how its more a sheet metal in the old one, teks pretty cool i do like the the fabricry look the it. everything else i like same but with more detail i like the new additions to the structures tho that's cool people are gonna be more creative witch i like.

yeah walls are sorta the same size they scaled things up, but im not sure if it will save the amount of structures
Old structure panels were rectangle shaped, now in ASA they are square shaped
you also have to consider the fps loss from the higher graphics
They aaid they implemented optimization for high object counts so they only count as 1 thing

Stone+wood with thatch roofs will be good combinations. Kind of wished they kept the darker wood exterior though.

I like that the new floors has almost no grass pop ups. The older floors looked like every grass blade popped right through.

Video is great but if comparing old and new, should include the stairs, ramps, and triangle structures in the old demo. Implies they are new in ASA.

you can no longer lower foundations but the can snap lower automatically

ASE on Ultra looks better than ASA on Medium. And the config requirements in order to play properly are out of this world. Unplayable
