Great job - really good mate - I'm a Brit, living in Sweden, got a '31 model A Tudor - I'm debating a 6" cut and your "how to" is an inspiration. Well done mate
Outstanding job and very detailed. I always looked at chopping to be so intimidating but now I will have a little more confidence to potentially put a 3" chop in my '30 pickup. I'm thankful for how square the bodies from the 20's and 30's are, don't have to worry about putting in filler plates and having to stretch the roof to line back up with the a-pillars, they just drop straight down.
Great video and very nice work, give yourself big pat on the back. I like these rat rod because you don't need to spend a fortune on building one. Have fun with them, it doesn't need to be perfect, but your welding job is near perfect and fit just right. Thanks for the great video.
Stephen, For a first attempt on video well done. My brother said today he'd like to do this. I can tell him about your video. Thanks a lot friend. Nice chevy in the back. Take care from Iowa U.S.A.
good idea welding in brace and the weld will pull a solid 8th inch so if you dealing with door gaps make it fat cause you will be tight if you cut in perfect gap
Nice work Stephen. I will be starting on my 26 model TT soon. I plan on trying to cut most of the whole top window out and widening the cab. Can't wait. I look forward to watching more of your vids on your model A. Stay safe and peace out brother.
I got to tell ya Steve, you really have got something great there! I am a little disapointed though because I don't see any other videos posted by you, The style of Rat Rod your working on is my dream car. It looks great Steve,
Hi Mr Bob, I don't think he's putting any stuff out anymore. it's too bad, Love your channel though, I know you're just about to finish up the rat rod but love to see you posting stuff.
Have to give you my respect Stephen at chopping the top on your metal rod! I purchased an in progress metal32 Ford 3 window coupe and frankly don't have testicles to cut the metal top....
Dont know if you guys cares but if you're stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my gf for the last few days :)
Stephen Heath I'll join in and ask that you do a vid showing the completed car. Contrary to Jake Mag's cmt, the red and white car in the drive is a 56 Chevy Bel Air. And I think it was illusion from camera angle that made it look as though sparks might hit it. I think it was farther away than the sparks went. Great job in showing and explaining you top chop method!
Hi. I am all new to this. When I look for 1930 or even just I put in ford model A I can never find one just like the one you have. They all have trunk in the back. Did you cut out the trunk part of this car as well cut out the frame so it wont stick out?? Please let me know. Many thanks
I wouldn't chop the top on my '30 A Coupe but a 2 door sedan, sure. That was the most common body style and especially since you started with a body only, not a complete car. Hopefully it wasn't too nice in the first place but that's the perfect candidate body for a rat rod. That was a good, instructive video although I would have to wear some ear protection while doing it.
nice worksmanship, i'm getting ready to do the chop on my 29 tudor. Hope none of those sparks hit that belair in the back. What are you running for rims and tires? It's an awesome look
Quite a simple job as all the pillars are vertical. How do you do a roof chop on a car with a sloping 'A' post? Whilst I can appreciate what the Rat Rod scene is all about, it does seem a shame that this car body has survived for so long only to be chopped about after eighty years..

Nice job! Great tip about the jack under the door! We need a update. Cheers from So Cal!

The rear window proportion seems very pleasing.
Only 2min in and a "like" from me simply because your emphasis on personal safety. Always feels good to see people remind others about that.
+HowardSupra As he grinds without ear protection.
Well done, nice video.

Anyone can restore a classic car, but it takes a real man to cut one up!
I've been looking For a model A cab from ages where did you get your's

Look up ford Tudor of the same year or a 1929 model a
I would love to see that red and white Chevy covered up to protect the glass and paint. WHAT THE HELL !!!!!
Theyre easy to chop, every window is straight, try a modern truck that needs 4 cuts in the roof in a letter X to spread it .
nicely done and well documented ! thinking of chopping my 30 5 window ratrod truck, not sure i wanna go 5 inches tho . maybe 3 ?
Sweet!
Nice job! Can someone tell me how to fit the glass windows back after the roof is chop off?
they go back in as normal..
+johncartelli windows maybe but the front and back glass is another story
Steve , any updates? . Good video
Is that a 5 amp or 8 amp grinder? Seems a wee bit under powered from my perch.

Stephen, where in the world to you live, midlands I'm guessing. Will you be selling the A, as you appear to have other cars ?
any news on that project?
Would love to see a vid of it all done
nice worksmanship, i'm getting ready to do the chop on my 29 tudor.
