2022 Kootenai River Probable Larch Sawfly Defoliation

Drone video of the western larch defoliation along the Kootenai River near Troy, Montana flown 8/16/2022. A few weeks earlier caterpillars were noticed on the site that foresters described as looking like the pictures shown them from larch sawfly documentation (actually, we now believe it was the larch looper). No caterpillars were present at the time of filming.
