    This week we set out to create a cosy living room to complement our new dining room and kitchen design. The design of this living room had to be spacious enough to accomodate a large family and also serve as a comfortable space for two. With new foundations and an updated palette, this living room had the makeover it deserved. Join us as we show you how we planned our layout, furniture decisions and pulled it all together.

    Thank you for keeping the fireplace as is. It adds a nice texture/vibe to the room and makes the design feel more organic.

    Love everything you chose for the living room but the only thing I would have done is chose a much larger mirror because the fireplace is HUGE and the mirror looks TINY in comparison. Also a larger mirror would have reflected more light as it's quite a dark room. Apart from that I love it.

    • @habitationathighaltitude
      @habitationathighaltitude 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same thought about the mirror, it definitely could have been much larger! But other than that, I love how the space turned out! I especially like how all the colour pick up and accentuate the stones in the fireplace, even the greens!

      Same here, the mirror could be bolder.
      Samsung Frame Tv is a good choice to take away the attention away from the black box.

      Easy change later if we want. It was really hard getting any stock at all delivered in our timeframe late last year. So we got what we could and made it work. It allowed us more space to style other things on the mantle anyway. And the tv was already so large. But it all works.

    Some beautiful choices, Lucy. Love the furniture and rug. Glad you left the fire place original. The only thing l would have done, is scaled the mirror size up a fraction.
    Looking forward to next week's video. 😀

    I wonder if you said one day, “I can’t take the room.” It’s like you felt something wasn’t right, but it was too many things, that you finally took action! That’s how it happens over here in our wee Southern California home. That shed in our back yard was largely invisible for so long, that now, “I can’t take it anymore.” That’s our next project! So, wish I can send you photos. ❤️

    Hi loving this show and I watch it every Thursday night. Renovations are amazing and such great ideas. You make everything look super breezy and easy. Can i ask were the original walls in the living room asbestos? If so did you need any sort of council approval to remove and to take any precautions to remove? Thank you

    • @Huntingforgeorge
      @Huntingforgeorge  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The old walls were all sorts of things. Ceilings were horse hair plaster. Walls had a little asbestos that was professionally removed. For small amounts it can just be professionally removed and then disposed of correctly. But the rules change depending on where you are.
      The rest was Masonite, ply and a little bit of plaster. It all had to come out to start straight and fresh!
