What I’ve learned with waluigi is if you slightly charge the swing and then make contact, it’s a much higher chance of an animation HR. It should be barely charged by the time you hit the ball. It works really well when I play. Otherwise he sucks at batting

I remember a while ago, Chiz did a trickshot where he had to get an animation dinger with toadsworth. I remember there being a lot more animations (even though they didn't go all the way) when toadsworth had one strike. I honestly don't know if something like that actually factors, but it might be worth a shot for the characters that are hitting dingers but aren't getting animations.
