this channel used to be about standard equipment and standard practices - what happened? Now it's about fancy cutters, fittings . . . can we get the previous guys back? They were FAR better!

There must have been a change of management. It’s like a whole new channel now (and not in a good way).

It’s called profit , money sales and marketing.
Well maybe one day you or somebody you know will be in that financial demographic of marketing of the product they are showing.
As long as there’s some educational content to improve your skills and something to learn every day

I agree! This isn't for the average guy anymore. Most of us don't have all this shit to play with.

@@bookooc5605 actually that modification they made on the golf cart is not that difficult
You just need a MIG welder or a TIG welder.
The old guy I work with before would have just measured it scribe a couple marks where he wanted to drop the top cut drop and weld.
And if there was slight misalignment he would’ve stretched by pushing out words or simple as tying rope around to pieces putting a stick through rope and twisting it to pull in words. That easy

@Paul Sableski I believe the cnc plasma cutter and water cooled torch add the HPR260XD consumables are what put this outside the target audience. I'm guessing nobody who is running a water cooled cnc plasma cutter is sitting around watch welding videos on TH-cam.

I was fortunate work for nearly 3 years in a custom body shop with a master at metal fabrication shop in tops shrinking components all with a TIG welder.
This method in the video of coursework it is one method.
But boy that was way over complicated Wayover thought the time consumption in the process and the materials made it appear difficult in the amount of procedures.
Watching somebody chop tops for a living do the measurements in his head describe a few marks make a few cuts and it dropped perfectly in the place.
Hit it with the TIG ground it down polished it off and nobody can even tell that the metal was touched.
Decades later I realize how fortunate I was to work under somebody like this.

So how do you drive it on to the trailer with the top lowered.. Leave it to and engineer to make an over complicated solution that still dont work. When it looks like lowering the roof just a couple of inches would get him in the trailer and leave plenty of head room.
And I also agree with some of the other posts. I did really enjoy the tips and tricks from the guys that obviously had years worth of experience. Now im not sure i trust what any of the new guys have to say.

Lower profile tires... or lower suspension . Didn't look like you needed alot, and I'm not sure what you did is safe.

Well I fail to see the point to all the work and having to design in a compute could have done the same in ya reconning or BETTER still it missed out on going into the trailer by what an inch maybe inch and a Harf from what I seen of the chap sitting in the golf cart just lower the hole thing by that amount and you can still drive it into trailer no branner there sorry for being up front but way to much over engendered and you can’t drive it once down and it has to be down to fit no since there cheers and bring back the old crew far better sorry again
