Yes, a farm tractor most likely would be able to pull a tank. The tractor's treads are made for gaining a lot of traction in soft soil, while the tank's are made for more solid surfaces ( note the thread patterns ) .
Its not a power demonstration, more a traction situation. Tractors generally need 1000 lbs or 450 kg per HP. This is just a small tractor in the Steiger range they go up to 700 hp and would top out at 70000 lbs or 32 000 kg. A heavier tank would do better in this instance. Fun for sure.

The stiger winning doesn't surprise me but put a valtra 700 or similarly sized tractor and it probably be a little more even.

The biggest difference is that a Tractor is made to pull things, while a Tank, or on this case a Tank Destroyer is made to move itself through rough terrain. Just think about how most Tanks are designed for their own weight, no major excess weight.
Der Panzer hat noch seine Gummipuffer dran, die die Strassen schonen (und bei vereisten Strassen auch gerne mal dafür sorgen dass der quer kommt). Diese werden im Ernstfall entfernt oder sogar durch Schneegreifer ersetzt. Dann hat IMHO der Schlepper keine Chance mehr. The tank has its rubbers on which don't destroy the streets (also reason for serious problems if streets are covered with ice). Without this or even with special pads for snow things would be very different. Aber schön dass die Jungs das mal vorführer. Anyway: compliments to the crews :-)
Kummiketten - raupenfahrwerke gegen zwei Kettenlaufwerke würde ich sagen passt schon. Wie Georg Wagner sagte, haben die Ketten von Panzer beim Pull nicht weitergedreht.😂

The winner more likely depends on the weight of the two vehicles. Many equations for friction don't even use contact area. It's all weight and coefficent of friction. The pattern of the treads likely contribute to which tread is less likey to slide but the biggest contributor is generally weight.

@@ddegn Your right it is complicated, there are interparticle adhesive forces that are relevent to this kind of sheer but the confining pressure of the weight of the vehicle also adds to sheer strength capacity as well. Generally the weaker the soil is in shear the more contact area will have a stronger affect than weight. Confining pressure works best on interlocking substrates like crushed rock. Even that doesn't capture everything at play though.

Еще и полный привод на тракторе решает, вон как яг пантеру задирает при усилии, что еще сильнее снижает цепкость и без того узких гусеничных лент.

Im Prinzip hat der Panzer nicht einmal einen Gewichtsvorteil, als Jagdpanzer ist er zu leicht, man hätte den Vergleich mit einem Leopard 2 Kampfpanzer machen sollen, der bringt auch genug Masse und Motorleistung auf die Waage. Das Problem mit dem Profil der Ketten und der Auslegung des Getriebes bleibt allerdings auch beim Leo 2. Wäre die Frage, wer schneller durchs Gelände brettern kann, dann würde der Panzer ganz klar gewinnen. Genauso würde ein Leopard 2 haushoch überlegen gewinnen, wenn die Wette wäre, ein gefülltes Glas Sekt über ein hügeliges Gelände zu transportieren ohne das etwas ausläuft.

The panzer was not a recovery vehicle, it was a Raketenjagdpanzer. Which was a missile armed tank hunter.

Wäre die Frage, wer schneller durchs Gelände brettern kann, dann würde der Panzer ganz klar gewinnen. Genauso würde ein Leopard 2 haushoch überlegen gewinnen, wenn die Wette wäre, ein gefülltes Glas Sekt über ein hügeliges Gelände zu transportieren ohne das etwas ausläuft.

Na ja war ja noch auf Basis Leo1. Ich denk auch der Bergeleo von damals hätte genauso abgeschnitten. Beim Büffel schauts etwas anders aus.
Die Basis ist der Kanonenjagdpanzer (und dem seine Basis ist der Jagdpanzer IV), das Leo1 Fahrgestell hat 7 Laufrollen (zwei mehr als der Jaguar).
@@ESA0815 Das dürfte der Raketenjagdpanzer auf TOW Basis sein. Der wurde, noch mit SS11, parallel zum KaJaPa gebaut. Beide sind eine Seitenlinie der Marder Entwicklung

I wanna give some applause to whatever they used between them. The chain or whatever space material it is.
It's just a cable. That tank and tractor really aren't that much weight. A 2 inch cable won't break till at least 300k lbs.
