You can actually skip the whole platforming by talking to the very first pillar after going up the first set of stairs. It will take you straight up and you finish it in about 20 seconds. I'm not sure if you have to fail once for it to spawn, but I fell, restarted the timer and felt stupid for not seeing it before lol
