I'm having trouble (and have been for years) of getting soymilk. I was hoping to gain insight to my problem on your video, but it appears the slowed controller inputs don't match the animation, so I can't get a clear picture of the frame window to execute. When I do a frame-by-frame in training mode, it appears I have a two frame window between joystick inputs. My controller hardware doesn't seem to support such a quick and precise change to make this reliable. Any info on the frames required between the turn around, return to neutral, and attack input? Any requirements before the initial dash? I see pros inputting a nair before they begin the dash, and that seems to help somewhat. Any links to another video breaking this down more? I tend to do the other desyncs as they are more reliable for me.
My guess is that my few controllers all have a hardware deficiencies, like snap-back. The reason for thinking this is that if I am diligent in making the turnaround the SLIGHTEST of a tilt, it seems more consistent. However, this focus on controller precision never seems to translate in a match, and I end up with a very unsafe move not protected by the desync. If this is the case, it's a shame that my gamecube controller, my pro controller and my joycons are all bad at it.
@@ClintonChelak As soon as you enter the skidding animation by flicking the stick in the other direction from your run let go of the move stick and as soon as humanly possible flick the tilt/c-stick in the other direction. (doesn't work with smash stick). you can replace c-stick step with jab or neutral special.
@@shyivy6440 as I posted in another reply, I've found doing a half circle back, then forward input works for me (HCB > F A/B). This is largely because I've been playing KOF 98, but it gets me the desync consistently, and I don't have to worry about joystick performance.
Hey great guide dude. But I wanted to ask if you knew this other grab desync. It's a cheer cancel but when you grab nana does a little short hop after u grab
yeah i know how to do that, it's like jab desync, do a little dash into your opponent and tap grab button, then very quickly after slide your finger from jump to a button. so x to a. and if you did it quick enough nana will do the short hop during the grab. your joy-stick has to be in the neutral position during the grab and x,a inputs.

Do you know how to set up combos vs real players it is so hard for me to get an combo on a real player bc they are sometimes to fast and i cant grab them
Try get them to shield buy lobbing ice blocks, or with a blizz wall, of they shield Nana's Blizz grab them and start a combo before Nana's Blizz ends. Or you can do Soymilk ftilt, Nana Blizz Grab you can guess where they're going to be and grab there You can do alot
There's an easier way to do it now, dash back grab hold a+b dthrow just before opponent hits ground release a+b Also the fthrow one has odd timing it's like dashback grab wait for a quick second hold fsmash+dthrow
Me using beginner combos in desync only doing 44 damage and in training mode getting destroyed by everyone, getting 3 stocked me see's this video:...* Few hours later In a fight * OH your choosing your "Ice climber main" Try grabbing me that's all you know how to do *Few minutes later* WHAT I WAS AT 0

This is largely because I've been playing KOF 98, but it gets me the desync consistently, and I don't have to worry about joystick performance.
can the ice climbers desync off of slingshot?
Hey great guide dude. But I wanted to ask if you knew this other grab desync. It's a cheer cancel but when you grab nana does a little short hop after u grab
yeah i know how to do that, it's like jab desync, do a little dash into your opponent and tap grab button, then very quickly after slide your finger from jump to a button. so x to a. and if you did it quick enough nana will do the short hop during the grab. your joy-stick has to be in the neutral position during the grab and x,a inputs.
@@shyivy6440 Hm interesting. Bc when I do it it either doesn't come out or I just pummel. But thank you so much I'll figure out what I'm doing wrong eventually haha.
@@Ntmonmegng you have to be very very quick, only do a tap dash before x and a, don't do a full run over
@@shyivy6440 Damn that shit is hard. Is there like specific timing. I actually have my jump binded to Y because I play on joycon. Could that be it?
@@Ntmonmegng I wouldn't recommend playing with joy-cons personally, but whatever feels comfortable for you should be fine. There is some timing. Maybe I can help you in a Arena if you'd like?
I slowed it down to frame and pressed b each frame after shield , but nothing happened :(
you have to hold b
Whenever I try soymilk nana has a dash attack inputted in the opposite direction. Has anyone else had that issue?
Is the fair desync a just frame input or am i doing something wrong? Seems like theres a lot more leniency with nair and up air desyncs
Also i cant seem to do the soy milk desync. Im entering run, then flicking the stick back to enter skid, then immediately doing a tilt attack, but they always attack at the same time
Praise God 🙏🏾
question please is this physically available on joy cons cus ion got a game cube controller
Its possible, just much harder

@@godliebudefi8885 I airdodge straight down, your probably airdodge down left,
Ok
Somehow I can't get the whiff desync but the jab is easy for me, any tips? Also great desync tutorial👍
Thank you, for the whiff grab, you have to tap grab and hold b, make sure you don't press the buttons at the same time, but almost. Like 1 frame apart.
@@shyivy6440 Okay, thanks for the help!
im still trash w ice climbers but great vid!
practice makes perfect :)
Hey in the squall Desync I’m having trouble getting my opponent to be on top of me. Can you help me out?
Near the end of squall start spamming B, practise the timing and it will become muscle memory.
ShyIvy ok ty
Was whiff grab changed? Each time I buffer neutral b during the grab they just both end up doing it.
You have to do it extremely fast after pressing grab.
Just press grab, not hold. Then immediately hold b
I have a question sometimes when i try the footstool it doesn't work. I mean it does works but the ice climber is then to high and i cant do the whole combo anymore :/
Which footstool combo
Like the footstool side b
Grab, downtrow, blizzard, up tilt, footstool side b, grab, spike
Up air*
But i think i know why
Do you know how to set up combos vs real players it is so hard for me to get an combo on a real player bc they are sometimes to fast and i cant grab them
Pls give me some tips
Try get them to shield buy lobbing ice blocks, or with a blizz wall, of they shield Nana's Blizz grab them and start a combo before Nana's Blizz ends.
Or you can do Soymilk ftilt, Nana Blizz Grab
you can guess where they're going to be and grab there
You can do alot
Are any of these patched?
these desyncs look easier than it is
however its easier to master to use when mastered(by easier i mean wayyy easier)
can you teach us how to do the murasat
Sure, I'll try

Man I can’t even do the whiff grab desync properly, I guess I’m just not meant to play ice climbers well lol
When I tried Forward throw in to forward air it didn't work
When you get the last grab, wait for nana just about finish Squall then input fthrow fair in quick succession

@@shyivy6440 Come to my new arena ID
bro, for the life of me i can not get the fmash to work. nana cheers every time but for some reason i can get the fair spike is consistently.
There's an easier way to do it now, dash back
grab
hold a+b
dthrow
just before opponent hits ground release a+b
Also the fthrow one has odd timing
it's like
dashback
grab
wait for a quick second
hold fsmash+dthrow

aw darn, I'll fix it

I can’t do it
Do what? Which one?
(pretty much everything lol) but with the backdash forward throw fair how exactly are you inputting it, a lot of times I get normal forward throw, for instance what am I doing wrong there? I’ve gotten it maybe like 2 times but since I don’t know where I’m messing up idk how to get it more consistently.
@@Shaiahable
Learn the desyncs one by one, or you'll have a hard time
Dashback is kinda weird and has specific timings.
Its:
Face your back to opponent.
Tap Dash towards them from a small distance.
Before the grab make sure there isn't any stick input, aka don't hold forward
Get grab, pummel jab once in quick succession (for timings purposes)
fthrow
keep holding towards the ledge from the fthrow input
jump (x), A (attack)
[to make nana fair]
Make sure you do the fair straight after the fthrow
(you only have to press x and a for the fair because you should already be holding towards the ledge after the fthrow)
message me if this helps, and you get it
