    My native soup....kudos.
    But crayfish doesn’t sit well in egburegbu,it gives it a very slimy texture!
    Enough stock fish and roughly blended sungu does the magic

      Blending will turn it into a puree. I'm not sure the texture will be nice.. maybe a good processor can be better.. Though I haven't tried using any of these

    What is potash?

      Potash is a kind of salt that contains potassium. It looks like clay. It can be used to thicken red oil when preparing African salad.
      Yoruba(s)call it Kaun, Igbo(s)call it Akawu.. Hausa(s) call it Kanwa.
      There's another one that behaves like it and it's more healthy..NGU, It's gotten from burnt palm fronts soaked in water.

    It originates from Nkporo and you dot add crayfish to it because it darkens the vegetables.

      Ok. The essence of the potash is to soften the Ugu and also retain the green color. So if u have another way of achieving that ,it's fine

      I haven't given it a try.. But you might end up seeing some ide leaves in your pot after cooking.. Hitting with knife will give the best result

      It's a kind of salt that is mined from the ground or manufactured in the Lab that contains potassium that can dissolve in water..

      It's not bad when consumed in moderate amount. If you check the description box you will see I mentioned that Ngu (burnt Palm front) is healthier

      If you don't like potash you can use Ngu(burnt palm fronts soaked in water). It's more healthy.
      But you can't skip that part because you must Blanch the vegetable first

    It is an Edda soup. The rest of Ebonyi don't make it. Edda is Afikpo South. Afikpo North doesn't make the soup.

      How can you be blanching vege tables Ugu .killing the nutrients .veg that doesn't need heat more than 5 minutes . It's chaff you are using to cook . Potash is not healthy

      @@maryanneaburu Ebonyi state people have this soup like I stated. For years they've been eating it and they're fine. Even other people have been enjoying this their recipe. I am not from Ebonyi but I I liked it from the first time I tasted it.
      I have many more healthy recipes on this channel.
      About the potash used, you can use Ngu.. Potash is not bad when used in moderate amount. Yoruba use it for EWEDU soup and it's one of their healthiest meal..

      You can also use baking soda it will soften the leaves maintain its green. The potash is only to blanch the vegetable...she didn't use it to cook the soup.
