Even though he didn't really say anything, I just felt I have to say, Henry Catchpole is my favorite out of the current crop of TH-cam automotive journalists. I think while he's the quietest, under that reserved demeanor you can clearly tell, he's the least jaded, most genuinely excited guy in the business. I love me some Chris Harris and Matt Farah, but Henry is still my favorite.
After all of these years, still as glorious as ever...

+Gian Marco Saleri if you think that was good you should have seen a P1 do it the day after.
+Adam Midghall lol Lambo released the SV time on the ring of 6:59 more 2 years later and Mclaren still to this day didn't since the P1 time is slower than the 918. so I doub't the P1 would be that significatly or any faster for that matter on the open road, (race mode is road illegal btw) what makes this run spectacular is the V12 symphony
+InitialDAmine need to get your facts right. I was there that day and the P1 jumped further with the guys from car and driver. SV long lap wasn't road legal. They had slicks in the car. McLaren haven't get a lap time due to the trofeo tires not arriving in time and extremely bad weather. A German magazine published a time that was an estimate from the first 2 section of the track on corsa tires not trofeo. Even on Corsa's the p1 was faster through the first and second sectors. Don't know why you brought this up. It was nothing to do with my comment or the video
+Adam Midghall you are the one that need to get your fact straight, how can you claim such a thing, while we don't even have a side of the Lambos jump ? how do you know if he was going full trottle in there?
The SV didn't have slicks it had fcking Pzero corsa the same tires you are complaining about for the P1, and are you kidding ? no seriously are you ? a company that coudn't it own available optional tires for the car to germany or didn't bring them in the first while bringing two cars a 650S and a dozens of engineers techniciens and support team or equiepements, just really who are you kidding here, and as for the weather, they are videos of the P1 stints, showing the car running in perfect weather most of the time, but the funny part in you claim is that Mclaren in almost a 3 year periode coudn't get all those conditions reunited no seriously lol. Well point proven later with the 918 trashing the P1 in several tracks with or without Trofeo R and obviously in race mode, (real world =/= race track) .
My point is and remain, clear, the Aventador SV, for what it is , is a more impressive car than the P1 a car build for one purpose and cost 3 times as much, and obviously DAT ENGINE SYMPHONY
InitialDAmine how do i know we has going full throttle because i was there and could here him coming before Kates cottage. i have videos of the SV parked up and the P1 a couple of corners before. Please for your own sake go have a look on mclaren life from the bottom of here onwards www.mclarenlife.com/forums/mclaren-675lt/35865-675lt-nurburgring-lap-time-3.html. They are not corsa tires they are cut slicks made specifically for this lap. Never heard of "coras". you do know that the P1 was used at the ring to get miles on the car. They used a silver car chassis 30 i believe on standard road tires in the dry but pirelli didn't deliver the tires on time and the weather turned worse.
Race mode doesn't matter its on a track. the SV does not represent the road version you buy

+David Musil Pretty sure all aventadors come equipped with a button that says "NOISE!" or "diplomatic immunity", which makes it drop to neutral and bounces it off the limiter for five to ten minutes.

Benedocta No. The interior may have some Audi bits but the engine and exhaust are 100% Italian

I thoroughly enjoyed that. There's something spine-chilling about that V12 bark, something that a V8 flat-plane wouldn't have a clue about. Proper drive, proper car, proper sound. Reminded me, for some reason, of Claud Lelouche's C'était un Rendez Vous.
