That was a pretty good Juliet Elliot impersonation. I was really confused for a second there. 😂
I thought so too😂😂
HAHAHHAHAHA
I thought you were going to miss an upload and I almost got sad. But I did not get sad because you uploaded. Thank you for not making me sad.
A bunch of traveling today almost derailed it all haha
More bmx! I love it
I fucking love BMX so much
Garys cancan plant was sick
such a scary trick holy moly
Thank you Eric! ❤
helpful?
@@Spindatt very. Lightbulbs are turning on, on this side. So would a shorter chain stay length be particularly “bad” for trails?
Are all your BMX’s 20”?
I saw you mentioned top tube length. I always thought that a bmx is a bmx is a bmx. Interesting to know that there would be different top tube lengths.
I’m going to rewatch the video now again hahaha can’t remember everything.
P.s. because of the hyphen my first and full name is Jeanne-Michael. The spelling is indeed from French origin but I’m VERY South African 🇿🇦 🤙🏼😁 only speak English and Afrikaans
I annoyed my daughter with my own juliet impression for quite a while. Loved that one eric and i will credit you for reviving it for me
LOL ive never watched one of her videos
Very informative. Thanks for that.
Ramp night looks like a damn good time.
It’s so fun to have the boys over to cruise the ramp.
Hope the guide helps you out! Forks have different rakes now too, but I was scared to get too dry with all the numbers/info gaha
@@Spindatt twas good. Many thanks. Now to figure out who makes decent bikes. All the brands have changed as well. Got the rest of the winter to figure it out. See you tomorrow.
I had a feeling he was gonna attempt a flare 180 the way his momentum was picking up, that was dope.😮
Haha he did one earlier that went perfect but I missed the shot. He definitely went into this one just a little too hot
OK, really forcing myself to get out the door. Once I get to a wooded section with the branches lit up by my front light, I'll be glad I got myself going. Night ride!
I've finally failed and missed a day! appreciate you getting out
Thanks! Send a sketchy bike down a wierd path. Do it on drop bar but you too scared:) love you Norton
SCARED!?? SCCAARRRREDDD??!?!?!
haha I'll raise you next week. Appreciate the support DR MONEY lol
luv ya!
That had to be a Juliet Elliot intro 😂
LOL I've actually never watched one of her videos
More BMX please :) would you do bike packing with a BMX? just an idea for a silly video :)
Wednesdays guaranteed! Also first week of march .
That sounds reeeeeally difficult haha
that's the idea, i want to see suffering! @@Spindatt
Love the video! You guys should do a Wednesday Night BMX Livestream sometime..bet if you went live for a few hours and had the crew there people would watch.
Voice over was worth it you think?
100% @@Spindatt
BMX content, yeah! How high is the ceiling in your garage?
12 feet
Is Standover height different from seat tube length? I always thought standover was calculated after the fork and wheels were on it, factoring in the extra 10 ish inches of a 20 inch wheel?
Yeah in BMX it’s weird. Stand over is basically the seat tube length for BMX frames
You need to start riding to figure out what YOU like. Bottom bracket height from 11.8 to 11.5 feels much different and chainstay length from short to long feels much diff as well. But you won’t know what you like until you try.
Very true, good to know a bit of a starting point before making that first purchase though
@@Spindatt this is true. I’m about 2 years into riding bmx and slowly finding out what I like and what I like better.
The end of this video made me feel like I’m hanging with homies
amazing! I was rewatching back the bmx segments of past videos and while they were fun, I felt like maybe they were tooooooo hectic. I wanted to figure out a way to make it more enjoyable to watch and edit into the vlogs
Can you do a flair in the space, or is it too dicey?
He actually did one before that I missed and asked him to give me another good one for the camera haha
Damn… only if there was a bike group focused on short to mid to longer ride formats around where you live to local parks to do simple trails that you can do all year round and make those trails more fun on a less capable trail style bike
is this a double entendre?
You should do a video comparing MTB technology and BMX technology. I can't believe how far behind BMX is in 2024.
This is actually a lovely idea!
Did you listen to the McGoo podcast? He made so many amazing arguments about how terrible everyone in the BMX industry is for innovation and as businessmen in general.
In your experience, how huge of a difference does half a degree of head tube angle feel on a BMX? I bought a Dan Conway GT complete as my first bike. It was an amazing price for full chromo everything, and has a longer top tube at 21.25, but has a 75.5 head tube angle. As someone who wants to mainly ride park with this, did I screw up? And are there any things I can do to slacken up the head tube a bit in the future similar to a Works Components angleset for MTB?
I notice the difference in geometries for about.. a day haha
honestly you can kind of get used to any geometry when you spend all your time on it. My Sunday Discovery build was shorter TT and CS with a steeper head tube than the current WTP Patrol build, and I am able to ride them pretty much exactly the same as one another. I do like the extra length of the patrol for doing turn downs and hauling as much ass as I can in a giant deep bowl, but that doesn't really happen every day.
What’s your opinion on stand over height? I’ve been riding a t1 SFA for the last 7 years and a couple months ago I decided I wanted a shock to my bmx system, so I built up a BSD Safari, brakeless and pegs. Complete 180 as far as bikes go. And the stand over difference is the thing I noticed and enjoyed the most on the BSD. THE t1 was 8.75 and this new one is 9.5. I don’t know if it’s a visual thing or what, but i feel more “in” the bike rather than “on” the bike.
Side note, I love watching sessions like this, it really makes me want to ride, more so than most video parts these days. Keep it up.
Edit: Sorry sorry, one more thing. I also listen to music with the intent to find the perfect song for my imagined edit. Glad I’m not the only weirdo🫡
You didn’t ask for my opinion but in my opinion standover will depend on how tall you are and your riding style. Shorter standover apparently good for tail whips (I can’t do them)and taller standover good for pinching seat for bar spins. I’m 6’3” and prefer a taller standover. Reed stark (Safari) is apparently 6’4” so that taller standover works for him.
Also aesthetics. I think a taller standover looks better on a bike with taller rider.
That’s funny, I actually wish my frame had a lower stand over but with all the same geometry haha
I’ve heard from some pro’s that they ask for more standover so there is less post showing, but otherwise there doesn’t seem to be much argument about the way it feels as much.
@@Spindatt as a bigger person I find so many frames have a lower standover.
My question to bmx is how or what to get for a "heavier rider" dont give bike much credit but rather be safe than sorry
pretty well any cromo bike will withstand a heavier rider. Kerry is heavier and has a very street "beat the shit out the bike" riding style and it constantly takes it in stride.
@Spindatt thanks for that been wanting to get a bmx for local riding in my neighborhood
No mention of flatland frames? I'm offended.
LOL, I mean, if you know you want to do flatland stuff: you already know what frame you want
Speaking of making reels and stuff. The increased insta content has been great. Why don't you promote it more?
I've mostly been making them purely to post as shorts here on TH-cam cause they do wonders for getting the content out to more people here.
they just happen to be the right format for Insta as well haha
