    Just discovering your channel and content but I really appreciate it. Your articulation and your wording has connected a lot of dots for me with big base principles and application. Thank you so much Professor

    The opening the door analogy was so good!

    Good stuff. In the end montage, I like the way you take the mount via push the far leg away and when they come up with a knee shield you redirect it to take the mount.

      Thanks buddy gonna try to keep adding a lot of sparring into the end of the videos just think it’s an easy way to consolidate the ideas

    Since I first watched this last month and started putting it to work, I get to mount probably 3x more than before. Nice!

      Will definitely be doing more of these, technique first then lots of sparring at the end!

    I love using the reverse underhook style because on bottom half i play a decent amount of octopus guard sweeps and back takes so it just feels right to do the same thingbut opposite while on top

      100 percent it’s so powerful on top, feel I can cook that position for so long and get back or mount

    another great video, would you say the dilemma for the bottom guy is, is if they stay flat they get mounted if they turn in they get their back taken. I have gotten the mount plenty of times from reverse side but i have never taken their back i gotta try that.

      Yeah for sure and you can just lean on them I just feel how they respond and take my time I almost always get one or the other

    Hey Jon, how you doing? Could i ask you to record a video about how to maximize pressure when playing the top position? last week i competed, i won my 1st match, but made a lot of mistakes, i didn't figure out how to make the transitions after i passed my opponent's guard without giving him space to recover his guard, i wore myself out trying to pass his guard again and again, in the next match i was too tired to even think and ended up losing. I want to improve, and your videos help a lot!
    Tks for your work professor! Cheers from Brazil

    My coach been doin this since 90s, which I do it too! I made my small own varient since I'm not skinny like him. Super effective and super embarrassing to get wristlocked in front of all other browns and black belts (I'm black), 'whlp' was what I said when the unseen wristlock came

    • @JonThomasBJJ
      @JonThomasBJJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it is a great position to go for wrist locks and kimuras from for sure!
