Great Video!! A lot of stores have closed, relocated, or opened since I did my video last year (on my channel for those interested). That mall is really great, slightly upscale, however, in my opinion, I think that it's between East Towne, and Hilldale, however, Greenway station also has taken some stores from the mall. Lived in Madison in the early 80s before we moved back to Chicago when I was a teen so I remember West Town and Westgate and east town malls. VERY different back then of course. All malls seem to get rid of their cool water fountains they once had
Great Video!!! West Towne Mall in Madison was not developed by Jacobs, Visconsi, and Jacobs Co. it was developed by Flad Associates, of Madison, I got to meet one of the guys that Design the mall. Flad also developed East Towne Mall. Flad Sold both malls to Richard Jacobs group in the early 1980's. If you that info from Wikipedia they are wrong. I'm trying very hard Myself to get Wikipedia to change that. I like your Videos!! Corey
I was in West Towne Mall two weeks ago, I notice That the large Chandeliers and the Kids play area were removed. And H&M Store is relocating next to JCPenney.
It seems to be in reasonably good shape. Vacancies aren't too bad, and the opening of the Von Maur is sure to help. I'm sure another reason why it's doing well is that Madison has a very strong economy.
This past fall I did make it to West Town because I had to refilm it because I had technical difficulties the year before. And I also wanted to film it with Von Maur opened. But I think West Town Mall is driving. East Town Mall I did in 2021 and it was still kind of sort of the pandemic era. But I thought East Town was a little more slower than West Town was. By far I think both malls are not dead. Hilldale is a very nice shopping area I like that that was pretty busy. And it looks like Madison Wisconsin has a strong enough economy to be able to support both of those malls

Madison is a very clean City. However traffic can be really bad on that South bypass
