They only had to fake something to be eligible for points. how many points they get is separate. "best fake" is open to interpretation on what part is considered "best"
@@skmojoed I don't think there's any interpretation for "best fake" here. The purpose of a fake is to deceive. Ivo's attempt clearly deceived everyone, as audibly evidenced by Alex and the audience's reactions. Furthermore, he did that within the allotted 20 mins. There's no way Franky - who scored top points - did all that in 20 mins.
@@kw8263 exactly. and even if he did do it in 20minutes (no idea how far from that body of water they are, can be a 2-minute ride for all we know), the fake was predictable (nobody thought he really drowned himself...). He only got points for the comedic jog at the end, which was not even part of the fake. Ivo's fake got us all and should have received 5 points
Ivo should have scored full points here; he genuinely faked something, fulfilling the brief of the task, whereas Frankie just got points for the comedy aspect of it.
I don't mind them rewarding a good laugh sometimes. The points criteria are just 'whatever Greg's feeling' anyways. But I agree that Ivo's was the best.
jennys "i dont like chochlate. i like cheese and cash" had me in stitches. Ivo defo smashed this task, i mean frankies was good but alex's face of surprise at Ivo swung it for me.
And Mae overscored. The amount of favoritism given to them in this series was insane-the Medium bit was painfully unfunny, and nowhere NEAR Ivo's level imho.
These kinds of task are subject to Greg's opinion in the moment, for good or ill. Sometimes we just have to accept how he judged it. *Ivo doesn't get 5 points* ...and sometimes we must tear down the dictatorship.
Don't forget that the actual studio recording is longer and shows more video of the task than what makes it into the edit for broadcast. So it's always possible that stuff that influenced Greg's decision isn't seen by us the viewers. It's the same problem as when you look at the scores in HIGNFY or WILTY and they're higher numbers than what we saw. It's because the scores include stuff that didn't make the edit.
@@dunbar9finger the task recording will be the same as they see, but yes, some studio chat may be cut for time. This may affect some judgements but in this instance it just appears to be greg enjoying frankie in his underwear more than a loo roll mummy (even if he was a lot more surprised by Ivo's fake)
The reveal of Kiell’s hand here was the hardest I laughed in this series, and then the flashback to it in Champion of Champions was the hardest I laughed in that
Truly my favorite task I've seen so far; absolutely incredible . . . the moment that really killed me was "do you have any money? I charge 60 pounds . . . I'll take 40" Also, as many have correctly said, Ivo was absolutely robbed; he blew this one away
Ivo definitely should have gotten top points. He's the only one whose twist shocked me. Mae was creative and thorough, but did not make me believe that they were actually psychic, because I'm not predisposed to believe that to begin with. Everyone else, I was like, "Yeah, this is Taskmaster-quality gameplay, for sure." But Ivo pulled off an entire shocking magic trick. Ivo clearly had the best fake.
I understand Greg's scoring here. The top three were all very good for different reasons. Mae's was very well performed, and Ivo delivered a genuine surprise, but Frankie was the funniest.
Not sure if there's a meaning behind it but somehow they made Mae's and Alex's eyes really intense blue during Mae's bit. They look like characters from Dune. Mae looks amazing
I understand that not everyone agrees all the time with Greg’s judgement but there is a 1 point difference between Greg’s scoring and yours, do you really consider that a robbery? 😂
@@Andy-ru2eb It's the difference between first and second place. It's less about how many points and more about what it means for ranking everyone. That's like saying a runner shouldn't be upset for being in second place when the photo finish clearly indicates they should have had first. It's not a huge issue in the grand scheme of things since there are other chances to earn points, but, from the perspective of this task, it is the difference between acknowledged as first and being acknowledged as tied for second 🤔
Ivo's was obviously fantastic, but Mae absolutely mindfucking Alex AND robbing him of 40 quid is one of the best moments of this series. Both were extremely clever.
Personally I would've taken a sheet of paper, and a can of beans. Then I would write on the paper something along the lines of "Count the beans in the can. The fastest person wins." and use an oven to transfer the seal from my task onto this new "fake" task and leave the two on the table. Who knows? Maybe they would use it to issue a second "count the beans" task for someone else.
I understand that not everyone agrees all the time with Greg’s judgement but almost the whole comment section stating that he “robbed” Ivo is quite baffling to me. There is a 1 point difference between Greg’s scoring and yours, do you really consider that a robbery? 😂
Using ketchup to fake blood is a rookie mistake. No way they don't have red food coloring and corn syrup in the taskmaster kitchen. (Actually... maybe they don't... Is corn syrup banned in the UK?)
There was actually a task in series 8 where they had to make the most realistic injury but there was the stipulation that if multiple people used ketchup they would be disqualified, and only Paul Sinha used ketchup but his attempt was so bad Greg put it in last place anyway
I saw that first woman going “AAHHH!” and thought “ oh no! Pour old lady she looks like she’s no longer at an age to do this” and then 5 secondes later I went “ wait is she- yep! She’s faking a heart attack🤣”
Yes, I can give a couple more usage examples if that helps. “They are a human being deserving of dignity and respect.” Or perhaps, “I can guarantee they don’t give a flying fuck about your opinion of the pronouns they use.”
Can y'all that love to express this vitriol and hatred towards a small group of people who prefer to use generic terms for referral, direct that energy into more global-scale problems that actually matter? Like, christ. Shut up. Who cares.
Soooo... the one that actually got a genuine "oh I've been duped" reaction from _everyone_ didn't win?
Gotta admire Ivo's brilliant decision to set up expectations early by showing off that toilet paper before using it

ivo was SO robbed here 😭
In one of those sci-fi worlds where aliens come to judge the whole human race, this will be the injustice that sealed humanity's fate.
This entire series was gifted to Mae Martin.
i don’t think Greg understood the concept of what Ivo did
THANK you
What was he robbed, that one point? He got 4 out of 5 points!
Ivo was so good Greg couldn’t even comprehend it.

Just one of the many tasks where Ivo was underscored
I think sometimes, if someone has developed a reputation for failing at the objective tasks, it colors Greg’s opinion of the subjective tasks.
Impossible, the TM is never wrong
@@bondfool This checks out, I believe Ivo only won one subjective task and that was the 'mime an instrument' one where nearly everyone got 5 points.

Alex' reaction at 4:52 is wonderful. That moment's confusion before he realises.
Okay it may be the worst fake but I can hardly stop laughing at the hand...
it was a left hand too ;)

Just joining the chorus of appreciation for Ivo on this.
Rarely does Greg ever wear an expression of such surprise, as he does at 5:00.
"I _do_ feel complete."

If I was the Taskmaster:
Ivo - 5 pts
Mae - 4 pts
Frankie - 3 pts
Jenny - 2 pts
Kiell - 1 pt

yes.
Very much so.
Mae's wasn't that great, Frankie gets the 4
Really love Mae and Ivo here xD Brilliant!
I love how Jennie just went for the fake heart attack immediately lmao
That was one of the first times I saw genuine surprise on Alex's face. It was beautiful.
One of these days: "come up with a Taskmaster task" followed by "make an opening sequence for your Task"
okay, but one of them actually managed to fool people, and how does that not win?

I see pretty much everybody on here shares the same opinion as I do. Ivo should have gotten the 5 points. I bit hard on that fake.
Biggest robbery in the whole show. I'm *convinced* that Greg didn't actually understand what Ivo did.
He absolutely did. He gasped and looked at Ivo in astonishment, as did Alex. He just forgot that when it came time to score.
@@homagetogorto That's a good point. Recency bias does seem to play a factor in judging, and if Ivo's video was last I think he'd have gotten 5 points
