also, thoughts on compressing kicks instead of clipping them? any benefit to doing either? (and should kicks be compressed after the effect chain?)

Compressing is not something we do often. Mostly clipping and shaping it in volume (like a compressor should do). If you decide to compress, do it in the creation process! not in your project. Otherwise every kick sounds different

@@nsaudio7692 i grew up with real hardcore, listen to it since 1994, all genres sounds good, uptempo sounds like mc donalds, is ready in 2 min and taste like shit!! passion takes time and uptempo takes 1 min to build a kick and 2 for a track🤣🤣
