I respect you GI robot thank you for serving your country no I meant thank you for serving the people you help. You deserve so much better when the time that needed. May you rest in peace my friend.🙏
the weird part is why are they having a trial over a robot? shouldn't this be a bug fixing issue rather a legal issue? I mean take modern example, if a delivery drone crash and killed someone, you don't send the drone to a court room and then jail it. You examine the error in its backup system and prosecute the company/programmer for gross negligence. What's jailing him going to accomplish? if his programming is download to another robot chassis, the same error will still occur until fixed. The jailing of the original robot body doesn't really do anything.
Thing is this would be a legal quagmire cause while he is artificial life, he's completely sapient even if he was built with a VERY narrow focus in mind. Whether he constitutes property or a person would be something debated in court.
Again, this doesn't seem a story about neither AI being human, nor AI going rogue. GI, for all intends and purposes, is a superhero who can't not shoot nazis as a core flaw. Buuuuut, if we were to put it into a more serious(not better for the story, mind you) setting, he's prob tried as a human because he has many supporters and it's generally a case of state being against vigilante violence
The court, and the legal/moral environment of the time, appears to recognize GI Robot as sapient ("this man - he does meet the state's current definition of 'man' - willfully murdered..."). Given that recognition, and the existence and rights of one's own mind that would imply (flawed and/or antisocial as that mind may be), "bug fixing" would be morally parallel to sentencing a human convicted of a similar crime to lobotomy. (Which is...not without real-world precedent, but Not Something Civilized Societies Do Nowadays.)
G.I. Robot before being accidentally sold to a neonazi was examined by years by Will Magnus, the main expert in AI in the DCU. Will Magnus is the guy that in the comics created the Metal Men, five robots with perfect AI and Sentience able to rebuild their bodies from the five metals their shell is made (Gold, Iron, Lead, Mercury and Platina), and he certified G.I. Robot as a sentient being. So by law he's not a drone, he's a powerful superhero who happens to have received the order to kill nazi on sight and fullfills it
An added layer of horror: He’s a machine who doesn’t forget things. He’s a veteran whose whole life is a flashback.
That’s…pretty bleak. I’m happy he found family with Easy Company and Nina.

We need a show just on gi, none of the unnecessary love scenes, I'd genuinely watch the show over and over, if it wasn't for the unreasonable amount of those. I just wanna watch the fights.
I need a series about GI Robots time in WW2
Just Imagine if GI was in Cod Zombies universe.
Pardon Me, GI Robot Ain't Do Nothin Wrong.
He Just Cleaned Up House.
Never watched this show, probably never will, but I would die for this robot I absolutely love him
It's peak
2:17 IS THAT A GOD DAMN JOJO REFERENCE!!!!! MADE IN HEAVEN!!!!
Well... at least they acknowledged his personhood?
0:38 - He can fly?! Are you kidding me?!
GI Robot may have limited emotions but he was very polite to Nina, his death in the fourth episode made me sad. 😞
0:50 This shot always reminds me of when Aoi Todo was on the cliff and had tricked Mahito into thinking he activated Boogie Woogie. It's because of the lighting and how has arms are the same way.
Why couldn't he have been in Live Action Suicide Squad movies?
He's too good for those movies
If they bring him back (which I won’t be shocked about because Gunn brought Groot back and GI is basically Groot), he will definitely be appearing in the live action movies/series. Even Flagg Snr is appearing in the upcoming Superman movie.
I respect you GI robot thank you for serving your country no I meant thank you for serving the people you help.
You deserve so much better when the time that needed.
May you rest in peace my friend.🙏
Pathfinders personality with killer instinct
the weird part is why are they having a trial over a robot? shouldn't this be a bug fixing issue rather a legal issue? I mean take modern example, if a delivery drone crash and killed someone, you don't send the drone to a court room and then jail it. You examine the error in its backup system and prosecute the company/programmer for gross negligence. What's jailing him going to accomplish? if his programming is download to another robot chassis, the same error will still occur until fixed. The jailing of the original robot body doesn't really do anything.
Logically they might be using him as a convenient fallguy to keep the brains and suits comfortable and accountability-free
So by law he's not a drone, he's a powerful superhero who happens to have received the order to kill nazi on sight and fullfills it
I wonder how close this will be to real life. Will we send a robot to jail instead of the person who commissioned a killbot?
Well he's a WWII bot, so his inventor's were likely dead or nursing homed at this point. And his current owner was shot dead at the start of the vid.
G.I Robot is my favorite DCU character so far
Mine are G.I and Nina
@lolbitandftfoxysayhello6262 I love them both
We need a GI Robot video game ASAP

Honestly thats my favorite character, and i didn't even watched the thing yet :]
Why does the guy he shoots in the head first look so much like Michael Moore?
I don't see it.
@@Igarappappareally? That was the first thing that popped into my head.
@@Igarappappa you don't see that in a bigger guy with the square glasses wearing a cap? That's basically Michael Moore's whole appearance.
He's actually voiced by *Micheal* Rooker oddly enough.
Whoa that is actually true. Never noticed. But I guess it makes sense since it’s a Gunn production. It must be fun to be his friend and be an actor.
GI Robot is what Jimmy from Rebel Moon should’ve been.
G.i robot is like Melfina from Outstar Law
I love GI Robot he is so simple
I like GI robot cuz he is a psychopathic but funny robot
How he a psychopath? What he did wrong?
He was following order and never strayed from his progam it made him happy.
Also one question are you a *NAZI?*
@@Rawxnama98 he killed but he wasn't in warfare yet
