    Elliott… you are killing me 🤣😂🤣😂 This podcast should win the “Rickety” as “WORST INTERVIEW”. I would also include a “Snarky” as well 😊⛷

    Elliott, as always your criticism and honesty is refreshing to hear, even if I don’t always agree! I can totally see what you’re saying about this podcast quality, but I want to stand up a little bit for Tom. I’ve communicated with him privately and I absolutely love his approach to skiing. His content is for the technical skiing nerds such as myself and if you watch him ski, you’ll understand that he is a high performance skier who truly has mastered the sport better than most (not your typical instructor). He has opened my eyes to important concepts mainly with regard to boot fitting and foot anatomy as it relates to performance skiing. If you don’t have the patience to dig deep into technical concepts, Tom is really not for you and that’s fine! Tom is not a podcaster, interviewer, or particularly animated in his personal interactions, but his skiing speaks for itself and I encourage you to give him a second chance. Also, as a last note, maybe check out Ski Dad. I honestly love his approach as well. He might be more your style as he just rips and views everything from a racing perspective.

      Yeah I really have no hard feelings towards Tom, I was just trying to be critical of how hard it was to hear and watch, but I will try and give his more technical videos a shot in the future. But absolutely 0 hate for someone offering that kind of insight.

    I just got my PSIA Level 1 alpine cert. They break skiing down into 3 fundamental skills and 5 basic movements. I don't know how anyone can consider themselves a ski instructor without this training. You would have no idea what to look for when evaluating a student and how to correct it.

    In podcast form at 2x speed this is decent. Video at 1x is painful.

    One of my former teammates was head of FIS - Sarah Lewis. But she got forced out because she is female and British. So racist. We were a nation of skiing greats - in the 1920's!

    I like your channel but you complaining about production value is pretty comical. Hanging out under your kids’ playscape with goggles on in your backyard? LOL. I’m guessing you won’t be doing yourself any favors by ripping on Tom. He’s great and shares a lot of helpful content.

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure his content is helpful, but I can still be critical of the video, because it looks slapped together, and it's hard to hear, like I even had to up their volume levels in post just so it was audible, Idc if you like my videos or not, but like you can at least see me and hear me clearly no?

    • @reddottx
      @reddottx 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I suppose my definition of production is a bit broader than yours and goes beyond just the volume. Of course you can say or do whatever you like! I think that’s the charm of your channel. I’m just saying that guys who are not professional journalists may not bring high level production but you can still learn things from them. I defend Tom in particular because he spends a great deal of time trying to help average skiers get to a higher level of enjoyment in the sport. That first real carve! A lot of which is free on TH-cam. I give a lot of deference about sound quality or camera angles to guys like that because it’s not actually all that important when it comes down to it.
