I lived in Southern Calif for over 40 years before got out in 2010. I always wonder why the hell didn't I moved out sooner. The one bedroom apt I lived in 2010 now cost over $2,500 a month. The company I worked now offered me a job in Calif and I couldn't afford to move back. My salary is over $120,000.
I have been living in LA since i was a kid. And although some of the stuff that was said was true. There is a huge understatement with this information. Yes, if you live near Hollywood or DTLA, the price of living is pretty high. But if you were to focus on other areas in LA, the cost of living is not that expensive.
Gotta have more than 1 income $$$$ - Thanks goodness for sidehuslte like Uber - Lyft . Basically paying $80-$90 a day to live in your apartment. $80 x 30 days = $2,400 ehhhh
This isn't as bad as London, the renting prices are the same but it seems that you get more for your money in terms of space. The only significant difference here is that there's no free healthcare which I can imagine would be costly in case of any procedure/emergency.
Yeah I think the cost of living in most places is pretty high right now. I do miss free healthcare in London, I can’t lie! You can have the best in the States you just have to pay for it, it’s hard to get your head around medicine being a business after moving here from Europe!
Try this for medical expenses. Twelve years ago in LA I had a major life-saving operation. Seventeen days in hospital and the bill for that was $173,000. The operation was about %40,000. Cost of saving my life was over $200,000. As far as I was concerned it was excellent value for money!!! But---without adequate medical insurance you are in big trouble.
Excellent information, thank you for uploading 🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Great info and advice! It's definitely expensive in LA but worth it!

That’s wild! Where do you live now?
Planning to move to California next year, can’t wait! We make about 475k a year so can make due with many of the expenses there.
That’s great! Sounds like you have a healthy salary for a nice lifestyle / home here!
Fabulous !

Yep, it’s definitely not cheap!!
just move to idaho or something if you can't afford cali. That's it.
We Angelenos love our cars! Definitely a big expense. You don't HAVE to be rich to live in LA - but it sure makes it easier :)

Pay no attention to the smog - and tire residue -by enjoying the vibrant night life.
I don’t get out too much these days but I like your style! 😊
Can you create a similar video for international students?
Yes I can try!
