This is the easiest sweet pea tutorial I’ve ever created! Anyone can do it! You can now buy the exact same brushes that I use in my videos on my website dewintonpaperco.com/shop/
Beautiful….I have difficulty in trying to be perfect so I think this tutorial is just the ticket to help me paint beautifully whilst relaxed. Thank you ♥️
Wow! You made that look so~oooo easy! And it turned out so pretty. It is strange, but, as a beginner, I find these "easy" paintings the hardest to do. I watched a Diane Antone video on youtube a few days ago, where she literally painted simple X's all over the paper then added a few dots, or in some instances a simple line down the middle, creating a page covered in beautiful translucent butterflies. She then embellished the butterflies by adding antennae, eyes, and random squiggly designs on the wings, accented with white, silver, and gold, gel pens. The final painting was much prettier than I thought it would be, as I watched her making child like X's in various shades using just 3 paint colors in varying combinations. Being fairly new to painting, but having not painted in quite a while due to a recent move, I thought it would be a fun and easy project to begin with. Boy~ was I ever wrong! It was absolutely one of the worst things I have ever painted! She made it look so easy,! So much so, that I first I was even a bit critical of the child like simplicity of the painting. But my painting ended up looking exactly like a young child painted it! So, needless to say, I have a new appreciation for how artists like Diane, and you, make really simple but beautiful paintings look so easy. Because they are definitely not as "easy" as you make them appear to be. I have painted much more complex paintings that turned out a whole lot prettier. Easy, isn't quite as easy as it seems, in fact, I think easy, may be harder after all.
I think these ‘easy’ paintings require a lot of confidence. Just keep painting and enjoying the process, don’t worry too much about the result and one day it will click!
I love sweet peas! So nice of your friend to share so you can make such a lovely painting! I grow sweet peas annually, but this year my seedlings were wiped out by the crazy weather we had in April--80F/27C one week and then several inches of snow the next. I'm so happy to see that other gardeners had a good year with them!
I very much admire your ability to visualize a project and then break it down into seemingly simple steps. Very beautiful! Sweet peas have always been a favorite of mine. Thank you!
Thank you for this fun painting of sweet peas. It’s perfect timing since mine are just starting to bloom. I’ll have to try to paint them. They are so delicate and so fragrant…one of my favorites. I truly enjoy your channel…thanks again!
Thank you again for your time and expertise on how to look, but yet simplify! It really helps to not get burdened with the details for this kind of painting! I have sweet peas of my own to look at, but they are the bright pink variety her in the U.S. I really enjoyed it!! :0)
One of my favourite flowers. You make it look so effortless. My interpretations of your flowers are so hit and miss. Mostly miss but I'm hoping by practicing one day I might be able to produce something acceptable 😀
I love sweet peas and this painting is gorgeous, thankyou! I'm planning to order your miniature brush set so want to wait for those before I attempt this painting 🥰
