William Tarr was a very prominent business man in the central Kentucky region in the late 1800s. His main business was bourbon and whiskey distilling and distributing. He started and ran Ashland Whiskey and it was wildly successful. In the 1880s Tarr invested in railroads and suffered heavy losses that financial devastated his family. In 1898 he was in financial ruin and retired to this home where he lived until he died in 1911. It’s a very sad story and a painful ending. This house is an accurate portrayal of how Williams life ended. Thank you I will for sure be back for a follow up!

Did you notice that is a player piano 🎹 that played paper rolls to activate the keys. So sad to see the house in this condition.
You’re right! I didn’t notice that until you pointed that out. The house is in horrible condition. I’m afraid it won’t be standing at all much longer
Someone must be paying the taxes on it. Wonder why it wasn't sold before it was ruined.
It’s on a large farm so I would guess the owner of the farm just neglects it and doesn’t care about it
