How To Change Transfer Case Fluid (5th Gen 4Runner)
In this video I explain and show exactly how to change the transfer case (center differential) fluid in your 5th Gen 4Runner. I have a Limited 4Runner which is full time AWD but you might have another trim like the SR5 or TRD Pro. Those are 4x4 vehicles and have a Transfer Case. The process to change the fluids is the exact same. All of the parts I use in this video can be found below!
Torque Wrench: amzn.to/4b3PEHr
Fluid Pump: amzn.to/3vWYwQ6
Fluid: amzn.to/3U6vqFW
Crush Washers: amzn.to/3Umuv5x
Drain Pan: amzn.to/3UoFrjo
24mm Socket (Kit): amzn.to/3Q6vQep

    Hello! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this video. My mom's family is from this area, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents when little in Stone Kentucky, they would take me to JUSTICES drive-inn. I love this area so much, and watching it takes me to a place where i would like to return, being 60 now. I really miss it there. Thank you so much for featuring these beautiful mountains and surrounding West Virginia and Kentucky.

    Mingo county WV had some of the best coal seams in Central Appalachia, across the Tug Fork River in eastern Pike county KY was the same. Several high quality coal seams some of which were very thick coal seams like the Thacker or Williamson seam. The WV side having the better coal of the two sides, therefore the large coal companies of the early 1900’s began mining Mingo county as aggressively as possible during that time. Across the river in KY Ford Motor Co had a coal town called Fordson & they along with other companies began aggressively mining eastern Pike county. The coal boom of 1970, 1973-1975 allowed many local independent coal operators on both sides of the Tug Fork River to make millions upon millions of dollars mining the coal the big coal companies of the early 1900’s hadn’t yet mined. In 1978 coal prices spiked again but not quite as high as 1974 prices, but this price jump lasted from 78-81 during which time the independents began selling their operations to out of state corporations for big $$. The McCoy brothers who owned Caney Branch Coal Co & McCoy Elkhorn Coal sold out for almost $50 Million in 1978 for example. During the 1970’s two very large corporations, Pittston Coal Corp (owned by BRINKS) & A.T. Massey Coal Co (Massey Energy ) began buying & acquiring large scale mining & processing operations in Mingo county WV & Pike county KY. Each operation was operated by a subsidiary, Pittston had Kentland Elkhorn & Eastern Coal Corp in Pike county while Massey had several subsidiaries in Mingo county WV & in Pike county KY. These big corporations began exhausting the coal that remained on both sides of the river & around Williamson which was the trading hub for the entire area. One man remained an independent coal operator in Mingo county WV, James “Buck” Harless, his Hampden Coal Co was the model for what a coal company should be & Buck Harless was not only a great coal operator but a very generous philanthropist to the area. By the 1990’s Massey had grown & grown, they dominated the area, Pittston had mined out most of its quality coal reserves & sold its operations to a Florida Power Conglomerate who managed to exhaust what little coal remained & go bankrupt. Alpha Natural Resources was designed to bail out Massey from all of its reclamation obligations & liabilities from lawsuits & mining violations. Alpha NR goes bankrupt as it was designed to do, to protect the Massey stockholders & deny retirement & health benefits to employees from Massey Energy. Now you have these startups with investor’s capital trying to pick through the scraps of coal left & they are simply designed to enrich the schemers who manage to sweet talk the investors they intend to screw over & go bankrupt leaving more unreclaimed mountainsides on both sides of the Tug Fork. Overproduction of the coal reserves around Williamson, unnecessary over-mining the coal seams helped lead to Williamson & other towns in WV & KY being ghost towns now. The coal reserves were not managed properly starting in the late 70’s & 80’s & the big coal corporations just mined the coal reserves to death, literally. As a result the city of Williamson died with it.

    Excellent video! Ever restless after leading his band of explorers over an immense and rugged distance, up the ancient "warrior path" over the edge of the Appalachians, and finding the mysterious Cumberland Gap running north, Boone was surely surging with anticipation that he might finally be getting close to the "mythic" lands he had first heard about from an old Indian trader. The Shawnee called that place "Kanta-ke" and the Iroquois called it "Ken-tah-ten" - both which translate as the "Place of Lush Meadows." And when he first saw it from Pilot Knob. He had gone on ahead and then hiked to the top - the rest of his party had paused to do some hunting, a good distance below. After coming so many miles over dangerous, jaggy peaks and ridges, through immense rhododendron thickets, as he climbed up to this historic overlook, he must have wondered if he would see more mountain ranges or, perhaps, that incredible place of meadows he had so long heard and dreamed about. One cannot imagine Boone's excitement in that moment - a view VERY few Europeans had ever seen - or lived to tell. And so, when one stands there today, knowing the history of that incredible 18th century moment, it should send a respectful chill down their spine.

    Always mean to travel to a real/decent reenactment. I lived in Massachusetts years ago and went to one in Groton MA (cuz you know, there were huge civil war battles there 😐).. There were about 15 people on each side.. the crowd outnumbered the combatants by like 100 to 1. It was a hot day so they were chugging down from plastic water bottles on the field.. There was one actual casualty... A guy who was about (I'm guessing) 315 lbs, and about 5ft 2in tall who got light headed.. which paused everything for almost an hour. I don't think there were any 315 lb Confederate soldiers back then, or Union but hey... who am I??? And every single reenactor was constantly yelling "HOLD THE LINE!!!" 🤦

    I honour the American dead of Blue Licks - the ones that died protecting their land, honour, friends and liberty - the 7 Loyalists and Native Americans who gave their lives for an honourable cause that is - , the others got what was coming to them. No, ...... but seriously .......... there is really no difference between the way this battle is memorialized and North Korean historical propaganda - it's on the same level. Mark's video is fine - but what he is showing us is quite shameful. It completely ignores the Indians - who were fighting for their own "liberty", and the so-called "British" were fellow Americans who sympathised with and befriended the Indians, and proved their loyal allies - sticking it out with them until the bitter end. As opposed to the "patriots" who wanted to exterminate and dispossess the Native Americans (eg: the Sullivan Expedition 1779) . If you study the Revolutionary War, every time Indian warriors were encountered in significant numbers (unless they were vastly outnumbered) it was a complete and utter blood-bath for the patriots - 10 to 1 casualties against the patriots was the usual outcome, BLUE LICKS was a pretty standard "day at the office" for these guys ( see the battle of Wyoming & Oriskany), and yet these incredible North American warriors (who were clearly fighting a defensive war) are ignored and vilified, and their white American allies are "magically" turned into "British" in order to aid the propagandist nationalist narrative. You would think after 240+ years a more nuanced view of the battle would have emerged - but apparently not.

    This is such a sick truck. I have studied 4Runners like no other. Love the full time auto 4 wheel drive on limited trims especially for the times my wife will drive it in the winter. The one detail that might make me go with a regular limited is the body kit difference, the super straight rear end is different than the slightly angled rear end on the regular. I just think the regular limited looks better at the back. Might get the night shade and swap out the back end bumper. Yes I am a huge nerd.

    • @pioneer_productions
      @pioneer_productions 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fulltime 4 wheel drive is such a great aspect of the limited. Most people go for off road premium or trd pro but the limited is amazing. I’m in the process of doing a front end bumper conversion tho to the regular style because the limited front end does hang down a little to low and makes some off roading a little more challenging
