I love your teachings. This has helped me with understanding but I do have a question. Does someone have to be baptized to receive the gift of tongues? As of yet I have not been baptized but desire to receive this wonderful gift.
Hey, thank you so much for watching, and great question! No, you don't need to be baptized to receive the gifts of tongues. In fact, there is an account in Acts 10:44-48 where a group of people speak in tongues before they have been baptized in water. Here is that portion of scripture: 44 Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. 45 The Jewish believers[a] who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. 46 For they heard them speaking in other tongues[b] and praising God. Then Peter asked, 47 “Can anyone object to their being baptized, now that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” 48 So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterward Cornelius asked him to stay with them for several days. Acts 10:44-48 I hope that helps.
Hey, don't feel discouraged. You CAN do this, it's a gift the Lord has already given you. Get into worship and ask Holy Spirit to fill you, then get out of your head and just let Him flow. It's that "simple" it's not you speaking, it's Him. Just surrender to it.
Question.. is speaking in tongues silently a way to pray without ceasing? Is it doing anything? I struggle with this. Also, I missed seeing videos the last few days! I love your teaching, so very inspiring and comforting. Thank you so much!
It is when the Spirit interceeds through you for others and yourself and yes it mostly happens when alone while in prayer or just randomly he places a burden on you and you just begin to pray at home in car anywhere and can be done silently while you pull away and give a moment to pray in private. That is how it is with me and others I know.
