Group rides are not for everyone. Unless you know everyone's skill level it can be an experience some don't care for. But when everyone is solid, it's a great experience, one that will put a smile on your face.
I am a person that hate riding in groups especially people you don't really know, I am a person that ride a bike everyday year around commute to work, so I a have noticed is people who are weekend Warriors ride for the moment and get they rocks out, take off fast put they feet on highway pegs up and down going through every gear, they are cool but can't react if something happens unexpected reason for so many accidents 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️ .I have nothing to prove cause I ride every I do exactly what you did ride my ride , I buy bikes with cruise control and enjoy interstate riding and I can use cruise when I am by myself and turn up my music. You bought the bike you have for whatever reason, I wouldn't buy another bike or anything other than you want to upgrade... been riding for 30 years, commute to work 8 years now and the older I get I like riding by myself or with my lady on back..... stay safe ✊🏿✊🏿
It's not for everyone but I think everyone should know how to do it. It's bound to happen sooner or later and having the skill and awareness to know just the basics is a good thing. And your 900 can easily keep up with those Harleys unless they had some work done or are riding some big engines. You have to rev the crap out of it, but it can be done for short runs. Don't worry though, the Kawasaki can take it.
it's fun as f taking off fast w a group . it's not ego or racing , it's solidarity with the appreciation for ass in the seat and wind in the face! i only ride an 800 vulcan but hang as long as i am in my safe zone. ( my ride) .but no problem on the 800 draghin pegs and ttaking off like my ass is on fire. 🤣😂😀. that said , group rides are a group interaction so head on a swivel and give riders ahead room in turns and never crowd up . shiny side up! unless u put bbq grile paint on your bike. 🤣 i did. less glare.
Yep, I ride a 750 Shadow right now and honestly, from red light to red light my shadow is quicker than my stage 2 96tc dyna. Now I’m not saying I choose the honda over the harley on the highway, because that dyna floats down the highway twice as fast, but city riding and backroads…when shifted right…nothing beats a metric bike
This was a group ride, but not a “group ride”. Those two you didn’t know were doing a gun and run ride style just out for some brotherly fun. An actual scheduled event ride is a lot more laid back and relaxed and not so much about speed as they are about just riding with others in uniformity. Your kawy could definitely keep up with and even spank those touring harleys on takeoff
@@SlidingonTwoz the sky and green leaves still on trees looks like you are either in alabama, Georgia, or Florida. if anywhere near eufaula, dothan, or Columbus Georgia area, you can ride with us any time
For me and my friends when we go riding together... We wait for each other and stay together. It's not a race, it's a group ride.
That's the way it should be, I need to find a better group. LOL

It's not for everyone. Just ride at your comfort

I'm looking forward to a real group ride with an actual group.
