I work in Pennsylvania and there’s so many foreigners in my job that don’t even have the right to be in our country. None of them speak English. They’re from all different places Cuba Africa, Mexico none of them have green cards. None of them have a right to be here, but they were driving brand new cars, brand new phones. He believe he doesn't have to follow the law. Just everyone else has too. The federal government needs a law to revoke the peace officer certificate from these types of law enforcement officers. Whether to enforce a law or not is not at the discretion of a police officer. It is a Constitutional violation that is a federal crime under 2 different federal laws. He can be sentenced to prison for willfully denying a person the benefit of the law. He just stated this in front of members of Congress because he is not afraid that he will be arrested or punished in anyway for refusing to uphold the law. So a federal law stripping these bad actors of the ability to be law enforcement officers is needed. I support a 5 year mandatory minimum sentence for betraying the public trust. No judicial release, no expungements. He is admitting to be a traitor.

It also suspended 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border illegally. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border after deportation That left out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing and stopped legal asylum, with few exceptions under title 42. Makes it difficult to enforce immigration laws when Republicans are fighting in court to undermine our legal enforcement. With title 42 suspending enforcement many immigrants re-crossed multiple times causing apprehension numbers to be inflated. The current rate of multiple returns was about 40% of border crossers.
We had a 11 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his polices. By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000. He only saw a reduction for the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid, before it went back to a 20 year monthly high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and increasing ever since under Trumps failed policies and Title 42.

He also says he has discretion to pick and choose the laws he wants to enforce because he has a duty to uphold the Constitution. Is it or is it not a lawful request, for the Sheriffs in his jurisdiction to ask ANYONE for ID? If it is, EVERYONE needs to comply. If it's not, Citizens do not need to identify themselves to the cops unless under arrest.
