I love the North. In my time in 90s u had to be strong to rep the North Pole since we are the smallest. Stayed on aileen st right round corner from 57th, right down st from San Pablo. Went to Golden gate, Carter and Tech. Even met my future wife in Emeryville. North Oakland polar bears

Unfortunately, Oakland now has the highest crime rate in California again and the third most dangerous in America this year behind Memphis and St. Louis this time. It was the most dangerous city in America about 10 years ago. Oakland will get better despite the fall backs. God bless my city.

I lived in every section of Oakland from North to Deep East but some of my earliest memories came from living on 34th/Market. I also went to Santa Fe Elementary so it was really nostalgic seeing “home”. We moved to the South when I was a teenager back in 2001.

it nice to see these tour i mean i have recognised many of the places in all the oakland tours. I mostly lived in the north but i was not that street but i ran around in the streets as a kid growing up in the in the 70s and 80s i lived a few blocks away from Bushrod I went to pre school in that gym at Bushrod park it was runned by merritt college when it was still down on MLK but this was when it was still called Grove street. I would always go with my friends to the baseball field we fly kites and launch rockets out there. I have alway been proud of living in oakland. When you travel out of Oakland everybody got an opinion on you because where you are from they always make it even worst than it is. I still love the town

you can still see the effects of the redlining in Oakland I think they touched on it but west and east oakland was forgotten by the city and neglected for years. the hills and the north have been taken care of. for years.

Peace to Charles Doobie Fort Jr he was my neighbor and a cool dude. He got killed the same week as my Fam Lamont Hill in Richmond Ca. I used to see his pops at the laundry mat on 45th and Market. Peace to Frost.Peace 45th and Market, Peace to 52nd and Market .The Black Panthers were instrumental in getting the traffic light built on Market and 55th .Peace to 52nd and MLK. I went to Detroit in the mid 2000s and it reminded me of West Oakland. Something about the city it was a similar feeling.
