    Why did the UK vote for Brexit? Because they believed the people pushing it versus doing their own deeper analysis.

    • @alantheinquirer7658
      @alantheinquirer7658 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      True. But the majority look to others to do the deep analysis. Not necessarily experts but people who SAY they've 'done the research'. Generally, people want simple answers to complex questions. That's why they go with anyone who gives a simple answer. This is why, during the lead up to the Referendum, instead of countering or proving a criticism wrong they just shouted "Project FEAR!" and walked away.

      Electioneering is an industry in America. The Union is in a constant state of campaigning with elections for President, Congress, fifty State legislatures, public service roles, law enforcement, the judiciary, dog catchers and water board officials. The end result is that the world's pre-eminent democracy throws up the most unqualified and abysmal candidates for office because they are the ones who can secure the donors and funds to pay for this charade. Trump is an extreme example of this corruption of a democratic system but he is not alone.

    The problem with US Electoral polling is that there are very few credible independent pollsters. Most of the polling that we have seen has been produced by either the Democrats or the Republicans and both parties have motivation to make it appear closer than it actually is. For the Democrats it’s to discourage complacency and for Trump it’s to provide a basis for his inevitable (false) claims of electoral fraud.
