Really fascinating! Being only 17 myself, but having lived in Amble for 12 of those years, I have never seen Amble the way it appears in these photos (though I have noted much change even in the time I’ve been around!). Thank you for the video, Rod :)
@@RodHardisty I went to Amble and the Northumberland coast for the first time last year, I'm 74. So your old photos were fascinating. I hadn't realised that the harbour was a busy coal shipping port as well as fishing. The masted sailing ships and paddle boat must have been wonderful to see.
i am now on a quest to see if thats the harbour chippy that the train passed at 7.38 into vid.....Peggy still about, shes worked there since the dawn of time. cheers folks for the memories from a well travelled kid who arrived there about 78 and left in my teens but still pops back
