Anecdote: a man came to a car repair service. He has some kind of transmission problem. The service has repaired everything. And the staff from the service ask the man how he managed to break the gearbox. Well, this man offered the service employee a ride with him in the car: 1- first gear, 2- second gear, 3-gear, 4-gear, let's go overclocking, well, now the R- rocket!😂😬
Good morning 🌅, Angel and Charley , that was very kind of him to give you a hand 🤚, and what a wonderful gift 🎁 as well, great for turning around, 😂, it was shocking that your shocks fell out, 😮, it obviously hadn’t gone through a road inspection, Great Territorial, with great banter between the both of you, a loyal friend, indeed, thank you Charlie for giving her hand, and putting her in the right direction, 😂, stay safe, ❤ from France,
I'm envious. That looks to be a fine lathe. You'll like turning stuff. All that's left is a milling machine and you'll be able to fabricate anything. Kudos to Charlie.
Great video Angel. You know it's really important to have great friends. Gotta thank God for good solid people. That's how the world works. Kudos to Charlie.
Great content as usual. And that lathe. What a pickup. Just perfect for those smaller jobs. You really are a good role model for people to aspire to. Keep these great vids coming Angel. Summer is a couple weeks old here down under with days averaging high 20s to mid 30s where I live in SE Queensland. Cheers for down under Stan.
I think I need to crawl under my Tundra and check out its suspension! I'm not sure I really want to see though! But you have given me the inspiration to do it. Hopefully it will all be in good order. I enjoyed the video and thank goodness for great friends who arrive bearing gifts and helps with the tasks at hand! Get educated on y'alls new lathe and have a blast with it! Stay warm and safe up in your beautiful B.C.!
Charlie definitely has the "sucking out your soul" sound effect perfected! You could HEAR the applesauce-flavored soul leaving your body :) My guess is, your suspension will be a lot more quiet now that the struts are all in one piece :) And I love the little lathe! That was worth a little applesauce, I would say!!
After replacing the suspension shock absorbers, it is necessary to make a "Camber and convergence of the wheels"(Сход- развал). Don't forget! Please take care of yourself!
If ya build bikes, ya need a lathe! Sooooo useful. Mine came from our version of "Home Depot", your lathe looks cool, old school and solid! Love to see you making spacers for a build.
I would feel sorry for you were it not for all of your laughter! Working outside in the cold is not my idea of a good time; you are definitely made of tougher stuff than I am! Your tiny lathe is a cutie!
Well, I'd say you got your money's worth out of the suspension parts. I have a lathe in my garage shop like yours and have so many parts for my bikes, i love it, and don't have to bug someone to do it. Loved the videos. ✌️
Nice lathe. If you need parts for it look first under Craftsman, then Atlas, then South Bend. The serial number should be on the side of the bed ways near the rear of the lead screw oil port. Most Craftsman lathes were made by Atlas but a few by South Bend. There are facebook groups and other groups with a great deal of info on them. If you need help with something let me know and I will do my best to assist. It looks like there is a half nut on it so you should be able to turn threads, but without a brake it is somewhat tricky.......
@@RedRiderCanadaBC No, most larger lathes have a foot brake that will stop the spindle very quickly. If you're thinking gear wise, putting it in neutral with the spindle turning would have bad results. If you mean power wise (electrical), That may be possible but honestly I wouldn't try threading until you have some experience turning and get a feel for the machine. It's best to have someone show you how to thread and take it slow. I've seen new machinists run tools into the chuck a few too many times.
Please take care of yourself❤
you don seem to have a quick change gearbox on the atlas.Hope it came with a nest of gears then.Gears inside the headstock look kind of warped.Ebay is full of spare parts for them thing.Peery soon yorre going to want a bigger lathe anyway. That always happens
I don't know where to look to check if its quick change or not 🤔 But it does have a couple levers that let you engage different gears... I think one is for reverse and the other lever is for the speed. I'll have to check the book it came with though.
your comment ' riding in underwear looks great until you come off ' so true..... Ive also got a small lathe , they are so useful, used mine to shorten my shovel pushrods as someone had fitted all long ones..

I always thought the R was for Race... But what races faster than a Rocket?! It's "Rocket" from now on!
Charlie is a funny guy, and seems like a really good dude.

Manual labor and a lathe? Man, you need to keep him around! He's a keeper. That lathe is the coolest thing ever! Congrats on finally fixing the truck.

As we get older, our suspensions tend to fall out. I'm 70 now. I miss my suspension. 😢
Great video !
Thank you!!
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Thanks for the smiles you gave me.
Angel. You really need a better jack. That thing is going to get you hurt some day. Good luck, stay safe and God Bless
I'll definitely be getting a better jack!

Damn I've never seen that before.

Is this the same Charlie with the flathead at Beaver camp out 3 months ago? Either way it was good of him to help you, and the lathe ain't bad either.
Yep, same Charlie 😁
