I can say I used literally every unit in Sacred Stones, thanks for the random skirmishes and Tower of Valni+Lagdou Ruins, I had plenty of chances to experiment and play around with all of the different units. Naturally I had my core team and favorites, so some people didn't get nearly as much play time as others did, but Sacred Stones is the only one of the older games where I never permanently benched anyone. Being able to grind as I please definitely suits Fire Emblem much better than the alternative...I mean, why even have so many different characters to begin with if we're not given the proper chance or opportunity to try and utilize them? But yeah, Vanessa was one of the units I regularly used and part of my typical core team, I referred to her and Tana as my hunter-killer squadron as they were both strong enough to mostly be able to send them out on their own and not have to worry about them surviving against the enemy.
Strink Family cormag joins so much later than tana, who joins so much later than vanessa. Having cormag is not a reason to not use vanessa or tana. Cormag is kinda like heath, he's good, but you already have two fliers so it's likely that he's alot weaker than them

As a kid, I realized that you could reset the game, start the ruins and instantly quit the mission like 3 times in a row, and the fourth time entering the ruins, the 3 closest enemy would drop hero weapons. It was way faster to earn money that way than completing the ruin or the tower, and wasn't risky at all. I farmed for hours and boosted every character to full stats using the secret shop. Every single one of them. I didn't have access to internet either.
I've actually never used Tana because she's always so far behind my Vanessa whenever I get to her lol. I think she's top tier on most FE8 tier lists for the sole reason that she's your early game flier and as demonstrated in this video, stats aren't really that important in this game.
Ben Wagner I use Tana because she's so cheery. On the contrary, Vanessa's personality is just too plain, like an everyday normal person. Even in her supports, she just doesn't stand out, even Marisa has that "awkward in everything except fighting" characteristic. I can't really describe Vanessa.. other than "she's just another pegasus knight in the game". If only the developers give her more attention, then maybe she will get more love from the fans.
Yeah it's kind of an unpopular opinion, idk I just sometimes have this weird fascination with the person who's just played straight as a normal person. It's why I like characters like Catria and Kent.
Ben Wagner It's not really unpopular. We all love different things. For me, I like characters with distinct personality. A great example would be Dorothy from FE6. Most of us, and yes, me included, tend to ignore those with below-average physical traits and choose to use the better looking ones. However, after reading her supports, I actually liked her more than 85% of the army because of how savage she can be when talking to Saul, then get so awkward when Clarine tried to put makeup on her. She can be so adorable at times.

Pretty much every character in Sacred Stones can become amazingly broken, to be fair. I remember I had build Colm Assassin and his state growth, especially his speed and skill, were so broken that he ended up dodging everything no matter what. Also Joshua having a 37% crit rate with a mere iron sword was funny as hell.

The game is still challenging enough for me where I still have fun. And I like the story and characters. Yeah, you can make the game really easy by using pre-promotes, promoting your units early, and grinding at the tower etc... and of course using the Tri-Attack lol. But I choose not to do any of that. The game is as easy or hard as you want it to be.
Same, funny enough I find "perfect run" challenges way harder than "solo run" challenges. Perfect runs being where you get every treasure unlockable, save every villager and village, and let no one die, while doing this without over-exploiting grind chicks. Mainly because solo runs basically guarentee you will have a god mode unit by mid game who can just one shot thigns and tank hits
@@hombojimbo if we are talking about 8, i respectfully disagree. in solo runs you are allowed to not care about saving villages or greens, you are allowed to not care about any consequences, you can just simply focus on tunnel visioning on the objective. Which will naturall result in you having a super unit by basically chapter 7. The only part that gets hard is the final few chapters.
I actually have never used pierce after playing this game +5 times. I always use Vanessa and Tana but always evolved them into falcoknights everytime for the cute sprite. Didn't know pierce was so broken. Regret nothing
Honestly I regretted using wyvern knight because it’s sprite is so ugly. Like Ooh we’re cool looking but not really it’s just a dumb snake dragon rather than a wybern it sucks
@@outofideas7 Strictly, a wvyern actually is a two-legged dragon and can often be seen in British heraldry. All the other "wyvern" riding classes ride what would probably more accurately be called winged dragons or flying dragons and mostly aren't referred to as any sort of dragon to avoid confusion with manaketes and the like.

Fe3 book 1 Caeda is the best pegasus knight since she can grab Jagen's sliver lance and one round most enemies for most of the game and buy more for her in a early shop as well as dismount to ignore bow weaknesses. Thing is Vanessa actually kind of sucks early on due to weak damage and almost getting one shotted by axe enemies. She gets okay then once she goes Wyvern knight she is real good because that classes bonuses are busted. Still really good though and likely best pegasus knight in gba games partly due to Wyvern knight.

Zad Ras it's kinda too late for her to come in low level when you have a perfectly good vanessa right there and the well timed cormag coming up. It feels logical to many to ignore her on the first run
honestly, Vanessa is so much better than Tana just from availability, like, assuming you use Vanessa anough, she can be promoted before you even get Tana if you got the Elysian Whip in chapter 8 and even with early promotion Vanessa should still cap speed, skill fairly easily

I remember as a kid, I was shown the mine glitch and how to perform it. I used it to acquire those eye's spell that have no durability to grind every character to lvl 20. I then found that if you enter and immediately leave the ruins like 4 times in a row, the next time you enter, at least 4 enemies in the map would drop hero weapons. Then you hard reset the game and start over. I used that trick to farm gold to boost all my characters to their maximum stats using the secret shop. I just couldn't figure out how to find boots, and I had no idea that you could manipulate rng using the path arrow. I didn't have access to the internet either

I actually used Vanessa more than Tana, because when I did try using Tana, I was afraid of her dying each map. That way I had an excuse to use Vanessa and keep Tana alive lol

I just love how Joshua flies like a freakin saiyan whenever he does a crit and it’s hilarious but he doesn’t do much damage when he doesn’t crit, but again, he crits pretty often so he’s still cool in my book
I like Vanessa because she was in my killer squad, it's just a little group composed by Cormag, Vanessa and Garcia used to kill enemies far away from the main group
Maybe it's just me, but FE8 is the better GBA FE because it's not so hard. FE6 and FE7 are the definition of frustration (I am looking at you HHM). FE8 is more enjoyable. Remember, it's just my opinion.

I started with Sacred Stones as well, and now I play Japanese hacks at the highest difficulty (they're kinda brutal and unbalanced, in case you don't know). HHM is a joke in comparison. What makes a FE player better or worse than others is the level of attention they pay to their actions in-game. Do they leave low-defense units in range of multiple enemies? Do they calc damage if they do? Such things become fundamentals in time, and you reach the point where only an enemy crit (and sometimes even a crit of your own) can ruin your day. Sacred Stones gives you too many good units, some of which can stuff even enemy crits, assuming you don't use supports and have somehow Knoll-levels of luck points. As such, it is easy even without Tower/Arena abuse. Heck, I have a LP of SS in my channel where I oneround Fomortiis with supported Ephraim. Is it enjoyable still? Sure, but many of us seek something harder than mere FE8. Just saying.

Fe girls starts very well but invisible assassins (enemeis without a map sprite) with 80% crit after you kill Orson are just not fair. Heck, even american hacks can fall into this (looking at you, Galagar and Champion Siegfried >.>). The only very good hacks without inflated bs are The Altered Stones and Fe7 Chaos Mode. Maybe fe6 Redux but I never finished that cause fe6 can get boring. Back to your original comment, I see your point. A game doesn't need to be hard to be good.
I did say "unbalanced" when I referred to Japanese hacks. If you don't train you don't stand a chance, and if you don't train PROPERLY you're still screwed. I do see your point, and I can tell you that trying to play those hacks at your level will definitely NOT make you a better player. Clever movement and maneuvers are what raise the player's chances and make them suck a little less at the game, and overpowering chapters with sheer stats is stupid, admittedly. To be fair, I played the GBA series enough times that I know what to expect even in FoW. So no, I don't lose anyone in chapters like 13x (Nomads Galore Lite, the true Galore is chapter 19) and 19xx (Surprise Wyverns and status staves). I agree with the fact that supports take a lifetime to grind so I won't argue with that. You say it took you months to finish FE6/7 and a lot less for FE8, but FE6/7 are 1,5/2 times larger than FE8 (excluding postgame I mean). Seems like an unfair comparison to me. Killer weapons aside, you usually don't even face a crit chance, ever, unless you play FE6 Hard where stats are overall higher than even HHM. Even then, 10-ish points of luck on a unit is enough to make even the crit chance of promoted enemies a flat zero (If your luck is higher than Enemy Skill/2, you will never eat a crit unless they have Killer or Slim weapons). TL;DR: You make good points overall, but some of the problems you run into ARE fixable with actually little effort, in my opinion at least. It's all about learning optimization, not of stats but of playing style

I recently beat a hard mode in sacred stones. It was hard for me mainly because I haven't played an FE game for a year and a half. I can count the amount of chapters I reset because someone died in my hand (I was also trying to get everyone since I've never done so before). 1. First fog of war. It was annoying and I got impatient for a lot of times. 2. The chapter where you get Tana. Promoted units start showing up a lot more and Tana keeps dying. The villages kept getting destroyed, Franz gets swarmed, or Amelia foolishly attacks me. 3. Jehanna hall (yes I took Eirika's route. Back then I thought you can only get Cormag through Eirika's route, so that sucks). Where Colm died because I barely use him but I needed him to unlock the door so I can get Rennac. 4. Second fog of war (night time). The amount of promoted units that siege you is insane, at first I thought I should just rush in to knock Riev down, but that costed a lot more resets than I remember. Someone in a discord server reminded me of the warp staff, and that made things so much easier. Even though Moulder was the only one who can use it, and I can only bring at the maximum 2 units there, the duo of Artur and Joshua made quick work with little risk. 5. My last resets were on the final chapter. Innes died to a 24% hit attack from an eyeball. Another where Seth got sniped (I tried my best to not use Seth as much). Ross got poisoned at the worst possible time. And my dumb brain made Ephraim attack Lyon, not killing him whilst getting one-shotted by him. And I kill Formotiis in turn 4. 5 chapters. The amount of resets are definitely more than that, but just 5 chapters. 4 chapters even, if I wasn't dumb during the last one. Also, I used Tana instead of Vanessa because there a lot of axemen when Vanessa joined, which is just so inconvenient.
Pretty sure they made Sacred Stones easy so players won't reset so damn much (not that it worked). Look at a certain Radiant Dawn interview, and you'll see the devs wanted players to default to iron man runthroughs for a very long time.

Isn't that obvious though? If permadeath is a thing at all, then that probably means the devs intend for players to go through the game without resetting every time a unit dies.
This is still my favorite Fire Emblem game, and one of my favorite games of all time. I just really love the story and characters, the combat system is always fun. It is pretty easy for the most part, I remember the hardest levels being the desert level where you have to fight like 3 of the generals (I think one of the leaves after a while though) and then the Rausten Castle fight, but for the most part everything else is pretty easy. I think it’s because they give you so many broken units, I mean I remember one playthrough where I just used Seth the entire time, and he just killed everything. Joshua, Myrrh, Dussel, Vanessa, Cormac, Colin.. hell even the main two characters get ridiculously strong. It didn’t matter though to me, I just loved playing this game so much. It’s the only game i’ve played through like.. 40 times by this point.

N's Creations and Gunpla Review 75% of your reasons do not make any sense though. 1. Both of them are considered "imouto". (Innes is Tana's onii-san) 2. Both of them can also promote into Wyvern Knights. 3. Both their supports are cute, even though Vanessa has lesser cute moments due to her support targets. So I guess maybe you just like green hair.
Tbf this is only if you know about both pierce and triangle attack, which while I haven't played 8 in a long time I dont recall it ever telling you about those.
One thing that made it easy to me was the recruit units. Amelia (Great Knight), Ross (Beserker with Garm), and Ewan (Druid) become absolute death machines late game.
@@diyas6118 Fliers are only good if the chapter actually requires flying. Out of the first 10 chapters, only chapter 7 had an advantage if you have a flier. The other chapters makes no difference, Seth can cover more ground than Vanessa.
@@diyas6118 The thing is I have never mentioned a single name of any low movement character that is better than Vanessa. I am just stating that overall, Franz is still better than Vanessa, unless IS can change most of the chapter layout to something similar to chapter 7, where fliers can outdo other mounts in terms of movement/rescue.

u can do the glitch for darco zombie weapon but really hard to do. once u can get myrrph to level 20. give that darco breath to her and watch her solo lol
I did that with Amelia when trying to see if she doesn't attack Franz. (Spoiler alert, she does) Then I almost did it again when Gerik tried recruiting Marisa, twice since Innes died because of asshole reinforcements that I could not predict. Why Marisa is attacking Gerik when they know each other is beyond me though.
In this game, you can still do the triangle attack with one wyvern. But only if that wyvern is either Tana or Vanessa, and the wyvern is initiating the attack. So, if you have Wyvern Tana and you try the TA starting with Syrene, you're screwed.
Lyon has 4 AS. Amelia, as an armorknight, with 4 base speed, +1 promotion gain, and 40% growth, will double Lyon at level 1 tier 1 on average. A LEVEL 1 ARMORKNIGHT DOUBLING THE PENULTIMATE BOSS!
Ah yes, this game is really easy even on hard mode. The hardest thing is the arena, some of the enemies are broken and if you don't have the weapon advantage is really hard to win... Unless you were blessed by the RNG goddess. I lost the count of how many times I lost at the arena (Looking at you Gilliam) But since this game is easy I can do my favorite thing, which is clearing entire maps using my assassin Colm.
I can definitely contest to the arena bit. I was training Vanessa up a bit in the chapter you get Innes and most of the Gerik mercs (Ewan not included) and I swear 800 or higher was a death sentence unless you're lucky, which I never was. All I was trying to do was get more money.
And here i am just using Lyon instead, naglfar looks so insane to use and to play handsome lyon yourself is awesome - hope you all got into the taste of him too :3
The fact that you used a 20% chance Luna on steroids + autocrit tactic to beat the game is pretty clever. Not exactly reliable on a casual playthrough I imagine, but still impressive. I enjoyed Sacred Stones more than the other FE games I've played even with it's significantly reduced difficulty. Maybe some of it due to it being my first FE game, and also because I don't play these games for their challenge, I play for the story and characters. I might need to replay this game someday, though. Because somehow I'm under the impression that Awakening and Fates are both a lot easier due to how the games are fundamentally designed to give you easy access to instant-win tactics (OP units, pair-up strategy, early legendary weapons, breeding mechanics, etc). Theres already a video I'll try to find it for you. However you have to open either door then maneuver an eye enemy into the top left tile. So you'll need an unarmed flier or 2 to get it to move into the channel.
I once had 'Nessa miss 3 98% attacks in a row. She was attacking an archer on the chapter you recruit Gerik, Tethys, and Prince Innes on Eirika's route. She missed two 98%s consecutively so I decided to turn off the GBA, realizing the game wanted none of my shit. Later that night, I picked the game back up and tried the chapter again. I went for the exact same strategy I had done the previous time and... Nessa missed her first attack on that same archer. I did the math quickly and the probability of that happening is about 0.0001728% because of True Hit.

Why should I use Tana I already got myself a Pegasus that I put time into like + she cute and she got a really nice support whit Forde. Any way so your bassic the difficulty of a game basse on a Exploit insta crit (that force you to have 3 unite and you CAN'T use if you don't use those 3 unite Else you will have 45% hit and 0% Crit makeing Pierce atk do what 40 Damage insteed of one shot. + That if pierce even work (because you only have (User's Level)% AKA 20% of activation And that if you abuse the game to get infinite lvl because your character is most likely to be lvl 10 to 15 at the end if you play the way I play meaning more of a 10% chance of even geting that pierce to even work...) Ok fair than I will give it you you: if you farm lvl to get your "Wyvern knight" because "Falcon Knight" won't work :P to lvl 20 you got a 20% chance to cheesing the final boss if you do a triangle atk that you need to have 3 character to use because else you can't even use this skill whitout those 3 SPECIFIQUE character... Any way I alwas find it funny whene ppl say this game is easy they alwas do something to make it easy It not my prob if you don't want to make it hard don't come crying whene you are useing Seth the OP character... and dodge useing Ewan, Amelia and Ross... Like Come on It probably one of the hardest game if you play it the way to make it harder: Try useing Ewan, Amelia and Ross whitout grinding the tower or fighting the monster on the road... About your other points: Using the triangle attack is not an exploit, it is already intended in the game. The first and the true message of this video is "Pierce + Critical + Vidofnir is broken". If you watched my other "so easy" series, you can easily see the message, it's mainly about the weapon's effectiveness against a final boss. "Abuse the game to infinite level" Did you watch the video? Vanessa is level 20 here, but yes, you got it right with the RNG part, which is my second hidden message. RNG decides the difficulty. Even if you have 99% hit rate most of the time, it still doesn't matter if RNG forbids you to hit. My first message doesn't work if you don't have this second message. "Most likely the way I play". This is the issue with the FE community, everyone have their own game experience. Some loves to max out their characters, some love to rush through the story. This is my final hidden message, even though it's kinda unrelated, but by using the "Tana > Vanessa" caption, I can easily trigger the viewers and let them voice out their opinions, and yes, you included. Well an exploit can be included in the game dosen't need to be cheated (it just a hiden thing Exemple abusing the marth of the game is kinda exploiting the system because there a flaw in it (Exemple ((0+(7 + 15)) x 3) x 2 = 132 It kinda a exploit because for the most part you won't have all your 3 character in all the right possition and whit that 20% rate of geting the pierce to work :D) (any way I think it an exploit even if it not a cheat) Perso I like to use somewhat bad unite whit alot of growth possible (Exemple: Amelia, Ross, tho not all the time I don't really like useing end game unite that are like that Exemple Est, Tana or Ewan But there alwas exception Exemple: Myrrh was fun to use), I also kinda like to use Mix stats unite (whit somewhat higher Skill, Luck and SPD not too much higher but somewhat higher Exemple Frode or Rebecca) Finally I quite like useing some late game unite I like Exemple: Isadora, or Duessel I like playing on Hard (but I useally start on normal whit the easy road frist) I love reseting if my unite got 0 to 2 Stats only (at 2 sometime I reset but sometime I don't depend on how I fell) if it hard to reset to I useally don't reset for Stats Only if someone die than I reset and start again (tho sometime I let them die RIP Meg or Boyd but most of the time I reset even if I don'T like them) Oh yah finally I don't grind XP (outside of the main Story Exemple of place I may grind is the Arena but that about it and it mostly only If I want to get the lvl for Promotion) Because yah I like geting the lvl 20 for the promotion (Even if I know at this point no unite get to max XP any way and that you may as well promoted them before I just Like useing them until they get lvl 20... So my Difficulty curve would probably be Normal at frist than in the early mid game I would go to Hard than in the late mid It would go the normal (aka hard because useally there a difficulty spike there any way) and finally Normal (to easy) for the end game because I got alot of late game unite whit alot of late game power. The reason it is so easy is because of the option of endless grinding. I literally got EVERY character (even the ones I wasn't using, like Moulder, who SUCKS) to 20/20 and just walked through the end. It's even easier than arena abusing. There is risk in arena abuse. No risk to go through the Tower of Vallini 200 times. Then you can pick the units your RNG blessed that game. Altho in SS, there isn't as much variation as in others. Tana will ALWAYS be better than Vanessa, but in Binding Blade or Blazing Sword, it can be different in every run. Normally, Florina is better than Fiora. My Fiora was better my last 3 runs. My Elen was always better than my Saul, and apparently that's really abnormal. Lance was my best first time through, next time, Alan. Next time, oddly enough, Trek. It all depends who the RNG favors. If you're good at fire emblem, you'll find a way. Even without arenas, you can abuse range of characters that don't move. In path of radiance, I had Mist already as a Valkyrie the chapter she joins, and also got Rhys to Bishop in the same chapter just abusing taking damage, healing, not returning damage, abusing bosses ability to heal themselves. Unequip, let everyone break their weapons on you while body blocking for your healers. You just have to be good with being on turn 300-500 when finishing a few chapters, but it's really doable. Although on hard, you still gotta watch yourself. Having everyone promoted way early will not allow you to just walk through the game. However, in pretty much any other mode, yeah, for sure.
Rodney Mills Finally, one of the few comments that I am actually looking for, one that doesn't blindly follow the points mentioned in other youtubers' guides, unless mandatory. There's one thing though, we do need to take note that all players have different objectives. Some only play for the story, whereas some who want to continue with the creature campaign, etc. Different objectives will alter character efficiency. Due to the presence of the tower of Valni, Tana will always be better unless one decide not to use it. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading this review. :3

Her growths have always been better in my runs. At one point, Moulder, at max level 20/20 had 13 magic. Like I said before, I think it just depends on the runthrough of the game. Also, Natasha can become a Valkyrie, which I like better a unit. And all 7 times I played SS through, Moulder had the lowest magic/speed of any unit. He was basically an off tank that could cast spells. Tried him as a bishop, but I think he works better as a sage. I mean, these are just opinions. No need to get bent outta shape lol. However, from my experience, things vary greatly from 1 run to the next, however, Moulder was always my worst magic unit. Even including Knoll's slow ass and the fact that L'Arachel is a huge pain in the ass to level. She ends up good. Moulder never ended up with enough power for a magic unit and just like...a little tanky compared to the others. Consistently my worst magic user. Ewan or Lute is always my best.

What I am actually looking for are neutral viewpoints from various players. It doesn't matter if a character is good or bad, it's just how you see them in your own eyes. There are also several points I disagree with the initial comment too, but it ultimately comes down to their own game experience. No point telling Dorcas that beef is better than mutton when he had a bad experience with mutton.
Now, let's do the maths on amelia (0% growths) Formortiis has 35 defense on easy/normal mode. Amelia gets a maximum of 7 strength from promotions, and from supports can turn this into (effective) 9 strength. 9+20*2 (Using Garm) is 49 attack. 49 minus 35 is 14 damage. Now let's look at the chance of the attack even hitting. 7*2 + 6*0.5 + 5 + 75 + 12 = 109 to hit, minus 18*2 + 20 = 56, = 58 to hit. As for crit rate, 7*0.5 + 5 + 15 - 20 = 3%. (7+5 -(9-13))= 8 CSpd. Yeah Formortiis doubles. With a 30*2 + 20*0.5 + 60 = 130% - (8*2 + 6 + 25) = 83% chance to deal 48-9 = OHKO damage. Allriiighttt... So that doesn't work well. How about stat boosters? This still counts as 0% growth, because each level gives NOTHING. Chapter 7's energy ring is obtainable. Rennac is supposedly fast enough to steal chapter 19's goddess icon. Infact i'll asuume that the theives are fast enough to steal. Now to recalculate with the boosters, 13+ 20*2 -35 = 18 damage. No wait, 20 because of the fire affinities. 13*2 + 10*0.5 + 5 + 75 + 12 - 56 = 72 to hit, with a 13*0.5 etc = 5% crit. Speed? Weight's negated and amelia now has 13+5 (18) speed to play with. The same as Formortiis. Now he only has a 130- (18*2 + 10 + 25) = 59% to deal 48-10=38 damage, which (due to the final chapter part 1's angelic robe) (16+2+3+21 = 42) does NOT kill her. However, Formortiis has a 30*0.5 - 10 = 5% crit chance. Not much, but potentially deadly. Sooo... this is like a journey challenge, almost. Except with the other monsters. With a little bit of RNG abuse, you can get a 2HKO. I was wrong. Even the memetic loser can defeat the final boss. It's also a good idea to give ross and neimi audhulma and nidhogg to protect amelia. Audhulma to a (Hero) ross, or a (Ranger) Neimi, or Nidhogg to a (Warrior) Ross, or Neimi. All stats used are in Eirika Easy/Normal mode, and I have NO IDEA IF THIS IS POSSIBLE IN PRACTICE. If anyone has a 0% ROM of FE8, please send it to me so i can test this.
Mekachi Shika Doing a Journey type run with FE8 is not really accurate unless statboosters NOT from story are not allowed, due to the fact that the encounters, tower and ruins has a very small chance of a statbooster appearing on an enemy, making it actually possible to cap the stats on a single character even with 0% growths. 0% growth Amelia can't ORKO Fomortiis, let alone OHKO. Just make sure Fomortiis equips Demon Light, not Ravager and she can defeat Fomortiis in a turn with Tethys' dance. Damage: (4+2+2) Base + promotion + (6) 3 energy rings total in Eirika's route + (20*2) Garm with Effectiveness + 2 Supports - (26+10) Fomortiis Defense = 20 (2 criticals gives 120, such coincidence) Speed: 4 + 1 + 2 (Base + Promotion) + 5 (Garm) + 6 (3 speedwings, all Eirika route) - 19 (Fomortiis) = -1 Amelia won't get doubled. Con is ignored since Amelia isn't weighted down by Garm after using just 1 body ring as a general. On Ephraim route, Amelia only deals 18 damage, with -3 speed compared to the demon king. I still don't think there's any point doing it with a 0% growth Amelia when you can just use Pierce + Vidofnir + Triangle Attack. Don't forget Amelia's crit chance is even lower than Pierce chance with no growths in skill stat. Still, FE8 is so easy that we can even use Amelia with 0% growths to defeat the Demon King in a turn. I can say I used literally every unit in Sacred Stones, thanks for the random skirmishes and Tower of Valni+Lagdou Ruins, I had plenty of chances to experiment and play around with all of the different units. Naturally I had my core team and favorites, so some people didn't get nearly as much play time as others did, but Sacred Stones is the only one of the older games where I never permanently benched anyone. Being able to grind as I please definitely suits Fire Emblem much better than the alternative...I mean, why even have so many different characters to begin with if we're not given the proper chance or opportunity to try and utilize them?
But yeah, Vanessa was one of the units I regularly used and part of my typical core team, I referred to her and Tana as my hunter-killer squadron as they were both strong enough to mostly be able to send them out on their own and not have to worry about them surviving against the enemy.

No dear, I use ALL of the units. I spent hours training them all up to 20 and promoting them and training them up to 20 again. Yes, I spent countless weeks in Arena and the tower. I'm crazy.

As a kid, I realized that you could reset the game, start the ruins and instantly quit the mission like 3 times in a row, and the fourth time entering the ruins, the 3 closest enemy would drop hero weapons. It was way faster to earn money that way than completing the ruin or the tower, and wasn't risky at all. I farmed for hours and boosted every character to full stats using the secret shop. Every single one of them.

I've actually never used Tana because she's always so far behind my Vanessa whenever I get to her lol. I think she's top tier on most FE8 tier lists for the sole reason that she's your early game flier and as demonstrated in this video, stats aren't really that important in this game.

I use Tana because she's so cheery. On the contrary, Vanessa's personality is just too plain, like an everyday normal person. Even in her supports, she just doesn't stand out, even Marisa has that "awkward in everything except fighting" characteristic.
I can't really describe Vanessa.. other than "she's just another pegasus knight in the game". If only the developers give her more attention, then maybe she will get more love from the fans.

It's not really unpopular. We all love different things. For me, I like characters with distinct personality. A great example would be Dorothy from FE6.
Most of us, and yes, me included, tend to ignore those with below-average physical traits and choose to use the better looking ones. However, after reading her supports, I actually liked her more than 85% of the army because of how savage she can be when talking to Saul, then get so awkward when Clarine tried to put makeup on her. She can be so adorable at times.

Pretty much every character in Sacred Stones can become amazingly broken, to be fair. I remember I had build Colm Assassin and his state growth, especially his speed and skill, were so broken that he ended up dodging everything no matter what. Also Joshua having a 37% crit rate with a mere iron sword was funny as hell.

The game is still challenging enough for me where I still have fun. And I like the story and characters. Yeah, you can make the game really easy by using pre-promotes, promoting your units early, and grinding at the tower etc... and of course using the Tri-Attack lol. But I choose not to do any of that. The game is as easy or hard as you want it to be.

Same, funny enough I find "perfect run" challenges way harder than "solo run" challenges. Perfect runs being where you get every treasure unlockable, save every villager and village, and let no one die, while doing this without over-exploiting grind chicks. Mainly because solo runs basically guarentee you will have a god mode unit by mid game who can just one shot thigns and tank hits

@@hombojimbo if we are talking about 8, i respectfully disagree. in solo runs you are allowed to not care about saving villages or greens, you are allowed to not care about any consequences, you can just simply focus on tunnel visioning on the objective. Which will naturall result in you having a super unit by basically chapter 7. The only part that gets hard is the final few chapters.

All the other "wyvern" riding classes ride what would probably more accurately be called winged dragons or flying dragons and mostly aren't referred to as any sort of dragon to avoid confusion with manaketes and the like.
I promoted Tana to a Wyvern Knight. Kinda sucks since she doesn't get some unique (or at least subtly different) sprite than a regular wyvern kn

Fe3 book 1 Caeda is the best pegasus knight since she can grab Jagen's sliver lance and one round most enemies for most of the game and buy more for her in a early shop as well as dismount to ignore bow weaknesses. Thing is Vanessa actually kind of sucks early on due to weak damage and almost getting one shotted by axe enemies. She gets okay then once she goes Wyvern knight she is real good because that classes bonuses are busted. Still really good though and likely best pegasus knight in gba games partly due to Wyvern knight.

honestly, Vanessa is so much better than Tana just from availability, like, assuming you use Vanessa anough, she can be promoted before you even get Tana if you got the Elysian Whip in chapter 8 and even with early promotion Vanessa should still cap speed, skill fairly easily

I remember as a kid, I was shown the mine glitch and how to perform it. I used it to acquire those eye's spell that have no durability to grind every character to lvl 20. I then found that if you enter and immediately leave the ruins like 4 times in a row, the next time you enter, at least 4 enemies in the map would drop hero weapons. Then you hard reset the game and start over.
I used that trick to farm gold to boost all my characters to their maximum stats using the secret shop. I just couldn't figure out how to find boots, and I had no idea that you could manipulate rng using the path arrow.

Pierce is just like FE7 Luna, but it ignores defense. This means a unit uses its Attack + Weapon Might for damage.

Maybe it's just me, but FE8 is the better GBA FE because it's not so hard. FE6 and FE7 are the definition of frustration (I am looking at you HHM). FE8 is more enjoyable. Remember, it's just my opinion.
Otavio Lunardi Dal Bó It really depends on how good the player is at FE IMO. I started with Sacred Stones as well, and now I play Japanese hacks at the highest difficulty (they're kinda brutal and unbalanced, in case you don't know). HHM is a joke in comparison. What makes a FE player better or worse than others is the level of attention they pay to their actions in-game. Do they leave low-defense units in range of multiple enemies? Do they calc damage if they do? Such things become fundamentals in time, and you reach the point where only an enemy crit (and sometimes even a crit of your own) can ruin your day. Sacred Stones gives you too many good units, some of which can stuff even enemy crits, assuming you don't use supports and have somehow Knoll-levels of luck points. As such, it is easy even without Tower/Arena abuse. Heck, I have a LP of SS in my channel where I oneround Fomortiis with supported Ephraim. Is it enjoyable still? Sure, but many of us seek something harder than mere FE8.

Most japanese fe rom hacks are unbalanced as fuck and sometimes requires capped stats. Fe girls starts very well but invisible assassins (enemeis without a map sprite) with 80% crit after you kill Orson are just not fair. Heck, even american hacks can fall into this (looking at you, Galagar and Champion Siegfried >.>).
The only very good hacks without inflated bs are The Altered Stones and Fe7 Chaos Mode. Maybe fe6 Redux but I never finished that cause fe6 can get boring.
Back to your original comment, I see your point. A game doesn't need to be hard to be good.
I did say "unbalanced" when I referred to Japanese hacks. If you don't train you don't stand a chance, and if you don't train PROPERLY you're still screwed. I do see your point, and I can tell you that trying to play those hacks at your level will definitely NOT make you a better player. Clever movement and maneuvers are what raise the player's chances and make them suck a little less at the game, and overpowering chapters with sheer stats is stupid, admittedly.
To be fair, I played the GBA series enough times that I know what to expect even in FoW. So no, I don't lose anyone in chapters like 13x (Nomads Galore Lite, the true Galore is chapter 19) and 19xx (Surprise Wyverns and status staves).
I agree with the fact that supports take a lifetime to grind so I won't argue with that.
You say it took you months to finish FE6/7 and a lot less for FE8, but FE6/7 are 1,5/2 times larger than FE8 (excluding postgame I mean). Seems like an unfair comparison to me.
Killer weapons aside, you usually don't even face a crit chance, ever, unless you play FE6 Hard where stats are overall higher than even HHM. Even then, 10-ish points of luck on a unit is enough to make even the crit chance of promoted enemies a flat zero (If your luck is higher than Enemy Skill/2, you will never eat a crit unless they have Killer or Slim weapons).
TL;DR: You make good points overall, but some of the problems you run into ARE fixable with actually little effort, in my opinion at least. It's all about learning optimization, not of stats but of playing style

Actually every game can be cleared without getting a single level up (0% growths), every game gives ridicolous pre promoted (Nomah, Zeke, Percival, Saleh, Xander, Karel, Vaida etc, they all gets the job done) in case you don't have a trained team or your units died in a no reset run.

If you want to prove your point, that "Tana keeps dying in her recruitment chapter" isn't a good argument, because Vanessa dies very easily in her own recruitment chapter due to enemy type.

I recently beat a hard mode in sacred stones. It was hard for me mainly because I haven't played an FE game for a year and a half. I can count the amount of chapters I reset because someone died in my hand (I was also trying to get everyone since I've never done so before).
1. First fog of war. It was annoying and I got impatient for a lot of times.
2. The chapter where you get Tana. Promoted units start showing up a lot more and Tana keeps dying. The villages kept getting destroyed, Franz gets swarmed, or Amelia foolishly attacks me.
3. Jehanna hall (yes I took Eirika's route. Back then I thought you can only get Cormag through Eirika's route, so that sucks). Where Colm died because I barely use him but I needed him to unlock the door so I can get Rennac.
4. Second fog of war (night time). The amount of promoted units that siege you is insane, at first I thought I should just rush in to knock Riev down, but that costed a lot more resets than I remember. Someone in a discord server reminded me of the warp staff, and that made things so much easier. Even though Moulder was the only one who can use it, and I can only bring at the maximum 2 units there, the duo of Artur and Joshua made quick work with little risk.
5. My last resets were on the final chapter. Innes died to a 24% hit attack from an eyeball. Another where Seth got sniped (I tried my best to not use Seth as much). Ross got poisoned at the worst possible time. And my dumb brain made Ephraim attack Lyon, not killing him whilst getting one-shotted by him. And I kill Formotiis in turn 4.
5 chapters. The amount of resets are definitely more than that, but just 5 chapters. 4 chapters even, if I wasn't dumb during the last one.
Also, I used Tana instead of Vanessa because there a lot of axemen when Vanessa joined, which is just so inconvenient.
Pretty sure they made Sacred Stones easy so players won't reset so damn much (not that it worked). Look at a certain Radiant Dawn interview, and you'll see the devs wanted players to default to iron man runthroughs for a very long time.

Isn't that obvious though? If permadeath is a thing at all, then that probably means the devs intend for players to go through the game without resetting every time a unit dies.
This is still my favorite Fire Emblem game, and one of my favorite games of all time. I just really love the story and characters, the combat system is always fun. It is pretty easy for the most part, I remember the hardest levels being the desert level where you have to fight like 3 of the generals (I think one of the leaves after a while though) and then the Rausten Castle fight, but for the most part everything else is pretty easy. I think it’s because they give you so many broken units, I mean I remember one playthrough where I just used Seth the entire time, and he just killed everything. Joshua, Myrrh, Dussel, Vanessa, Cormac, Colin.. hell even the main two characters get ridiculously strong. It didn’t matter though to me, I just loved playing this game so much. It’s the only game i’ve played through like.. 40 times by this point.

it has a grinding system that you can save scum for good level ups. Even Ross can be a good character if you grind for long enough.
Tbf this is only if you know about both pierce and triangle attack, which while I haven't played 8 in a long time I dont recall it ever telling you about those.
One thing that made it easy to me was the recruit units. Amelia (Great Knight), Ross (Beserker with Garm), and Ewan (Druid) become absolute death machines late game.

@@diyas6118 Fliers are only good if the chapter actually requires flying. Out of the first 10 chapters, only chapter 7 had an advantage if you have a flier. The other chapters makes no difference, Seth can cover more ground than Vanessa.

I am just stating that overall, Franz is still better than Vanessa, unless IS can change most of the chapter layout to something similar to chapter 7, where fliers can outdo other mounts in terms of movement/rescue.

I did that with Amelia when trying to see if she doesn't attack Franz. (Spoiler alert, she does)
Then I almost did it again when Gerik tried recruiting Marisa, twice since Innes died because of asshole reinforcements that I could not predict. Why Marisa is attacking Gerik when they know each other is beyond me though.

In this game, you can still do the triangle attack with one wyvern. But only if that wyvern is either Tana or Vanessa, and the wyvern is initiating the attack. So, if you have Wyvern Tana and you try the TA starting with Syrene, you're screwed.

I have played this game so much for so many years and never knew triangle attack existed.
Lyon has 4 AS. Amelia, as an armorknight, with 4 base speed, +1 promotion gain, and 40% growth, will double Lyon at level 1 tier 1 on average. A LEVEL 1 ARMORKNIGHT DOUBLING THE PENULTIMATE BOSS!
Lyon is characterized by being a garbage fighter with Victorian novel disease this makes complete sense
Ah yes, this game is really easy even on hard mode.
The hardest thing is the arena, some of the enemies are broken and if you don't have the weapon advantage is really hard to win...

I lost the count of how many times I lost at the arena (Looking at you Gilliam)
But since this game is easy I can do my favorite thing, which is clearing entire maps using my assassin Colm.
I can definitely contest to the arena bit. I was training Vanessa up a bit in the chapter you get Innes and most of the Gerik mercs (Ewan not included) and I swear 800 or higher was a death sentence unless you're lucky, which I never was. All I was trying to do was get more money.
And here i am just using Lyon instead, naglfar looks so insane to use and to play handsome lyon yourself is awesome - hope you all got into the taste of him too :3

The fact that you used a 20% chance Luna on steroids + autocrit tactic to beat the game is pretty clever. Not exactly reliable on a casual playthrough I imagine, but still impressive.
I enjoyed Sacred Stones more than the other FE games I've played even with it's significantly reduced difficulty. Maybe some of it due to it being my first FE game, and also because I don't play these games for their challenge, I play for the story and characters.
I might need to replay this game someday, though. Because somehow I'm under the impression that Awakening and Fates are both a lot easier due to how the games are fundamentally designed to give you easy access to instant-win tactics (OP units, pair-up strategy, early legendary weapons, breeding mechanics, etc).

Theres already a video I'll try to find it for you. However you have to open either door then maneuver an eye enemy into the top left tile. So you'll need an unarmed flier or 2 to get it to move into the channel.
Thats why I'm thankful for the sacred trilogy mod. It made this game a lot better

I once had 'Nessa miss 3 98% attacks in a row. She was attacking an archer on the chapter you recruit Gerik, Tethys, and Prince Innes on Eirika's route. She missed two 98%s consecutively so I decided to turn off the GBA, realizing the game wanted none of my shit. Later that night, I picked the game back up and tried the chapter again. I went for the exact same strategy I had done the previous time and... Nessa missed her first attack on that same archer.
I did the math quickly and the probability of that happening is about 0.0001728% because of True Hit.
I dont mind games not being hard, my real life is already hard to me I dont need a game that kicks me in the balls all the time I just want fun you know? good game mechanics, awesome characters and fun gameplay and im set

Either restart the chapter that you lose her or just continue without her if you had already overwritten the save file.
Why should I use Tana I already got myself a Pegasus that I put time into like + she cute and she got a really nice support whit Forde.
Any way so your bassic the difficulty of a game basse on a Exploit insta crit (that force you to have 3 unite and you CAN'T use if you don't use those 3 unite Else you will have 45% hit and 0% Crit makeing Pierce atk do what 40 Damage insteed of one shot. + That if pierce even work (because you only have (User's Level)% AKA 20% of activation And that if you abuse the game to get infinite lvl because your character is most likely to be lvl 10 to 15 at the end if you play the way I play meaning more of a 10% chance of even geting that pierce to even work...)
Ok fair than I will give it you you: if you farm lvl to get your "Wyvern knight" because "Falcon Knight" won't work :P to lvl 20 you got a 20% chance to cheesing the final boss if you do a triangle atk that you need to have 3 character to use because else you can't even use this skill whitout those 3 SPECIFIQUE character...
Any way I alwas find it funny whene ppl say this game is easy they alwas do something to make it easy It not my prob if you don't want to make it hard don't come crying whene you are useing Seth the OP character... and dodge useing Ewan, Amelia and Ross... The only thing you got it right is the use of RNG to activate pierce. You are the first person who pointed this out, and revealing my final hidden message in this video.
About your other points:
Using the triangle attack is not an exploit, it is already intended in the game.
The first and the true message of this video is "Pierce + Critical + Vidofnir is broken". If you watched my other "so easy" series, you can easily see the message, it's mainly about the weapon's effectiveness against a final boss.

Did you watch the video? Vanessa is level 20 here, but yes, you got it right with the RNG part, which is my second hidden message. RNG decides the difficulty. Even if you have 99% hit rate most of the time, it still doesn't matter if RNG forbids you to hit. My first message doesn't work if you don't have this second message.
"Most likely the way I play".
This is the issue with the FE community, everyone have their own game experience. Some loves to max out their characters, some love to rush through the story. This is my final hidden message, even though it's kinda unrelated, but by using the "Tana > Vanessa" caption, I can easily trigger the viewers and let them voice out their opinions, and yes, you included.

Not using the tower of Valni for trainees is like trying to write without the use of your hands. I mean it is not impossible, but requires a slightly higher difficulty. Not using Seth is also quite simple, most of us already did unpromoted runs. However, this video is about "pierce is broken", not about "playing a handicapped run". But thanks for the suggestion, as I am running out of GBA content soon.

Well an exploit can be included in the game dosen't need to be cheated (it just a hiden thing Exemple abusing the marth of the game is kinda exploiting the system because there a flaw in it (Exemple ((0+(7 + 15)) x 3) x 2 = 132 It kinda a exploit because for the most part you won't have all your 3 character in all the right possition and whit that 20% rate of geting the pierce to work :D)

Perso I like to use somewhat bad unite whit alot of growth possible (Exemple: Amelia, Ross, tho not all the time I don't really like useing end game unite that are like that Exemple Est, Tana or Ewan But there alwas exception Exemple: Myrrh was fun to use), I also kinda like to use Mix stats unite (whit somewhat higher Skill, Luck and SPD not too much higher but somewhat higher Exemple Frode or Rebecca) Finally I quite like useing some late game unite I like Exemple: Isadora, or Duessel
I like playing on Hard (but I useally start on normal whit the easy road frist) I love reseting if my unite got 0 to 2 Stats only (at 2 sometime I reset but sometime I don't depend on how I fell) if it hard to reset to I useally don't reset for Stats Only if someone die than I reset and start again (tho sometime I let them die RIP Meg or Boyd but most of the time I reset even if I don'T like them) Oh yah finally I don't grind XP (outside of the main Story Exemple of place I may grind is the Arena but that about it and it mostly only If I want to get the lvl for Promotion) Because yah I like geting the lvl 20 for the promotion (Even if I know at this point no unite get to max XP any way and that you may as well promoted them before I just Like useing them until they get lvl 20... It fell more right to do so.)
So my Difficulty curve would probably be Normal at frist than in the early mid game I would go to Hard than in the late mid It would go the normal (aka hard because useally there a difficulty spike there any way) and finally Normal (to easy) for the end game because I got alot of late game unite whit alot of late game power.
Still Any way THX for the Reply also I most said I never use the tower more than one time same for the monster on the map I try it and than I saw it was kinda just grinding and boring stuff so I went back to normal story stuff

Oh right also if you want to make it hard you can alwas use Myrrh too she quite a bad unite whitout lvl (whit that I can be sure you will have some hard time at less training them (If you don't go in the tower or something to make them lvl 10 and promote them quickly))

The reason it is so easy is because of the option of endless grinding. I literally got EVERY character (even the ones I wasn't using, like Moulder, who SUCKS) to 20/20 and just walked through the end. It's even easier than arena abusing. There is risk in arena abuse. No risk to go through the Tower of Vallini 200 times. Then you can pick the units your RNG blessed that game. Altho in SS, there isn't as much variation as in others. Tana will ALWAYS be better than Vanessa, but in Binding Blade or Blazing Sword, it can be different in every run. Normally, Florina is better than Fiora. My Fiora was better my last 3 runs. My Elen was always better than my Saul, and apparently that's really abnormal. Lance was my best first time through, next time, Alan. Next time, oddly enough, Trek. It all depends who the RNG favors.
If you're good at fire emblem, you'll find a way. Even without arenas, you can abuse range of characters that don't move. In path of radiance, I had Mist already as a Valkyrie the chapter she joins, and also got Rhys to Bishop in the same chapter just abusing taking damage, healing, not returning damage, abusing bosses ability to heal themselves. Unequip, let everyone break their weapons on you while body blocking for your healers. You just have to be good with being on turn 300-500 when finishing a few chapters, but it's really doable.
Although on hard, you still gotta watch yourself. Having everyone promoted way early will not allow you to just walk through the game. However, in pretty much any other mode, yeah, for sure.

Finally, one of the few comments that I am actually looking for, one that doesn't blindly follow the points mentioned in other youtubers' guides, unless mandatory.
There's one thing though, we do need to take note that all players have different objectives. Some only play for the story, whereas some who want to continue with the creature campaign, etc. Different objectives will alter character efficiency. Due to the presence of the tower of Valni, Tana will always be better unless one decide not to use it.

Her growths have always been better in my runs. At one point, Moulder, at max level 20/20 had 13 magic.
Like I said before, I think it just depends on the runthrough of the game. Also, Natasha can become a Valkyrie, which I like better a unit. And all 7 times I played SS through, Moulder had the lowest magic/speed of any unit. He was basically an off tank that could cast spells. Tried him as a bishop, but I think he works better as a sage.
I mean, these are just opinions. No need to get bent outta shape lol. However, from my experience, things vary greatly from 1 run to the next, however, Moulder was always my worst magic unit. Even including Knoll's slow ass and the fact that L'Arachel is a huge pain in the ass to level. She ends up good. Moulder never ended up with enough power for a magic unit and just like...a little tanky compared to the others. Consistently my worst magic user.
Ewan or Lute is always my best.

The moment I saw "Moulder is the 5th best unit", you just proved my point, you clearly watched Mekkkah's character sorting list and reflected his views here. What I am actually looking for are neutral viewpoints from various players.
It doesn't matter if a character is good or bad, it's just how you see them in your own eyes. There are also several points I disagree with the initial comment too, but it ultimately comes down to their own game experience.
No point telling Dorcas that beef is better than mutton when he had a bad experience with mutton.

Now, let's do the maths on amelia (0% growths)
Formortiis has 35 defense on easy/normal mode. Amelia gets a maximum of 7 strength from promotions, and from supports can turn this into (effective) 9 strength.
9+20*2 (Using Garm) is 49 attack. 49 minus 35 is 14 damage. Now let's look at the chance of the attack even hitting.
7*2 + 6*0.5 + 5 + 75 + 12 = 109 to hit, minus 18*2 + 20 = 56, = 58 to hit.
As for crit rate, 7*0.5 + 5 + 15 - 20 = 3%.
(7+5 -(9-13))= 8 CSpd. Yeah Formortiis doubles. With a 30*2 + 20*0.5 + 60 = 130% - (8*2 + 6 + 25) = 83% chance to deal 48-9 = OHKO damage.
Allriiighttt... So that doesn't work well. How about stat boosters? This still counts as 0% growth, because each level gives NOTHING. Chapter 7's energy ring is obtainable. Rennac is supposedly fast enough to steal chapter 19's goddess icon. Infact i'll asuume that the theives are fast enough to steal.
Now to recalculate with the boosters, 13+ 20*2 -35 = 18 damage. No wait, 20 because of the fire affinities.
13*2 + 10*0.5 + 5 + 75 + 12 - 56 = 72 to hit, with a 13*0.5 etc = 5% crit. Speed? Weight's negated and amelia now has 13+5 (18) speed to play with. The same as Formortiis. Now he only has a 130- (18*2 + 10 + 25) = 59% to deal 48-10=38 damage, which (due to the final chapter part 1's angelic robe) (16+2+3+21 = 42) does NOT kill her. However, Formortiis has a 30*0.5 - 10 = 5% crit chance. Not much, but potentially deadly.
Sooo... this is like a journey challenge, almost. Except with the other monsters. With a little bit of RNG abuse, you can get a 2HKO. I was wrong. Even the memetic loser can defeat the final boss. It's also a good idea to give ross and neimi audhulma and nidhogg to protect amelia. Audhulma to a (Hero) ross, or a (Ranger) Neimi, or Nidhogg to a (Warrior) Ross, or Neimi. All stats used are in Eirika Easy/Normal mode, and I have NO IDEA IF THIS IS POSSIBLE IN PRACTICE. If anyone has a 0% ROM of FE8, please send it to me so i can test this.

Doing a Journey type run with FE8 is not really accurate unless statboosters NOT from story are not allowed, due to the fact that the encounters, tower and ruins has a very small chance of a statbooster appearing on an enemy, making it actually possible to cap the stats on a single character even with 0% growths.
0% growth Amelia can't ORKO Fomortiis, let alone OHKO. Just make sure Fomortiis equips Demon Light, not Ravager and she can defeat Fomortiis in a turn with Tethys' dance.
Damage:
(4+2+2) Base + promotion
+ (6) 3 energy rings total in Eirika's route
+ (20*2) Garm with Effectiveness
+ 2 Supports
- (26+10) Fomortiis Defense
= 20 (2 criticals gives 120, such coincidence)
Speed:
4 + 1 + 2 (Base + Promotion)
+ 5 (Garm)
+ 6 (3 speedwings, all Eirika route)
- 19 (Fomortiis)
= -1 Amelia won't get doubled.
Con is ignored since Amelia isn't weighted down by Garm after using just 1 body ring as a general.
On Ephraim route, Amelia only deals 18 damage, with -3 speed compared to the demon king.
I still don't think there's any point doing it with a 0% growth Amelia when you can just use Pierce + Vidofnir + Triangle Attack. Don't forget Amelia's crit chance is even lower than Pierce chance with no growths in skill stat. Still, FE8 is so easy that we can even use Amelia with 0% growths to defeat the Demon King in a turn. Sacred Stones is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. That said, even I will acknowledge that it's piss easy.
