@@johndeere1951a I guess you didn’t understand my reply as I don’t understand yours. Since I was a little boy an elderly friend of the family called the meringue on a pie calf slobbers. The first time my wife made meringue with eggs that we got from a friend who had just started keeping keeping chickens her meringue was twice as high as normal.
8:50 Suggestion...if you install French cleats on the nesting boxes, you will not need to mess with screws in the future. The boxes simply lift off. Easy / breezy!
I've seen online in TH-cam I think you're the best out there that gets it done I like the way you do it simple stupid we're getting in the farming we need to do it that way...
Hey Pete, maybe try Robertson screws - the Canadian 'square head' #2 most often stays right on the driver as you use it. Not sure if you can get 'em out there, but I love 'em.
Thanks, this video was a big help especially for my wife because she is now working with them as part of her new job. It looks like things are getting busy on the farm and moving chickens is definitely a family affair.
Very interesting video Pete! It’s great that you explain why you do things the way you do!! It was great to see the kids helping. Wishing Hillary a very happy Mother’s Day!!
It is SO COOL to see a family working together getting things done! You know what they say, a family that rounds up hundreds of chickens together, stays together!
As a kid helping my parents with chickens we always used a "catcher." It allowed catching without greatly disturbing the others. Perhaps slower than your family helper method. The "catcher" was commercially made; about 4 foot of heavy wire with a bent hook on one end to catch a chicken foot. The other end was a wooden handle for the operator.
A star screw is a Philipps screw in Canada! We all prefer the Robertson screws also known ais a « square head» screw in Canada. Tork screws are nice but more pricey and less common around here
We always had a hook (about 4 foot long with a bend at one end) that could catch their legs when we cornered them out on the loose, it helped and did not hurt the bird..
Pete, midwest guy here. St. Louis to be exact. I WILL make the trip some day to your farmer's market in Ithaca NY. Would love to shake your hand and thank you for educating me about where my food comes from.
Pete, you run what must be the best channel on Facebook! Informative, fun, funny, and a complete list of bad jokes to avoid telling my family if I don't want them to disown me!
How about a wall bracket or hooks or something like that for the winter brooder and the egg mobile, to mount the nesting boxes. for easier removal and mounting.
Good operation. I’m learning a few things I’d personally do different. But ideas are like rear ends. Everyone has one. Pete I’ll be happy to share ideas if you ask. If you don’t I’ll keep watching! Have good weekend.
We kept about 35 hens in a coop and they had about 4 acres of barn yard to roam around. They typically stuck to about 2 acres near the coop. Boy do I miss those orange egg yolks.
Good morning Pete I've been watching just a few Acres Farm for a couple years now and I've been wanting to meet you to come to your Market but I also heard that you're not going to be filming that's not the point but I want to come to meet you and to buy some of your product I plan on making a trip later on this year probably in the the fall and I hope to meet you then at the market keep making videos and I'll see you then
I like your egg-mobile. I've been considering building one out of an old school bus we have sitting around, the engine and trans were already pulled for a different bus. So it's just a rolling chassis. That idea still may come to light one of these days.
Pulmonary fibrosis used to be called "farmer's lung". It's a lot like emphysema in that it takes many years of breathing in small particulate matter to turn into a chronic condition. I'm sure you are immune to salmonella, but please understand that while pulmonary fibrosis may not be infectious, it is eventually deadly- my grandmother and dad both died of this disease. It's not a pretty death either- it takes years and is excruciating. Please wear a mask whenever you're exposed to a lot of poultry dust. I love your channel and I want you around to make videos well into your 80s. And for the love of God, learn to fell a tree safely! You are an incredibly smart man and I've learned a great deal watching your channel, but a few of the things you do worry me. Please use your intelligence to take care of your health as well as your farm. I wouldn't take the time to write this if I didn't admire and care about you, Pete.
I just found your channel by chance today. LOVED the jokes. hahaha Looking forward to watching your channel and maybe going back and watching some old vlogs. Have a great day!
Pete and Hilary, I am pleased to tell you that your wish has come true: we DID "enjoy this video!" Thank you for all your hard, skilled labor.

Who ever reads this for all you Mother's have a blessed wonderful Mother's day everyone.
I Love your videos and your family being in them with you. Keep them coming.
nothing like farm fresh eggs thank you all for caring so much to produce such rich clean meats.
I love watching the family chaste the chickens after you catch them.
Wow, time just flies as I watched the same video of the chickens going out on pasture a year ago.
I raise my own chickens, and once you have eggs from your own, you realize how much better eggs can be...the yolks are so rich!
Try making calf slobbers “meringue” with “country eggs” they whip up really high compared to store eggs. Can’t beat them.

Best farmer of the Century folks. Period!
I love seeing all the impatient chickens jumpin in the egg boxes while you're screwing them up! They clearly LOVE their little homes!!!
Boy the eggs would sure taste good with all you do to keep your chickens happy. Well done.
You have such a lovely family. What a wonderful place for your sons and daughter to grow up at.
I'm not a farmer, but I enjoy how you explain things. Keep this channel going, you are enjoyable to watch.
Viewer from India 🇮🇳 great to see your style of farming
@@amandar7719 Farmer here are not educated and no one has a you tube channel about farming
My wife and I DO enjoy all your videos. Hugs from Colombia
Love how all of your chickens are pasteurized.

Awesome video mr and mrs Pete and family.
You guys work hard, I enjoy watching your videos. Those piglets and their mama pig is cute. 😊

They also say raw milk is bad for you but my family and most of our relatives grew up drinking it and nobody ever got sick from it.

Wouldn't use any other screw - Robertsons are the best!
Although the French cleat system would work well too.
I like the way your wife works with you..thats really great .you hardly ever see that any more.

That egg mobil is a great design, so many good features, i really like the floor, the roosts and the outriggers. (and of course the tire... ha ha)
We did that today too! We do it at night, works better for us.
It is SO COOL to see a family working together getting things done! You know what they say, a family that rounds up hundreds of chickens together, stays together!
I agree that Phillips head screws are terrible. I have a couple boxes I keep pushing off as well. Lol Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Cool love chickens. This is where happy eggs come from.
Great video Pete. I learned how to carry a chicken!!
My husband and I love your videos. We are going to be raising Barred Rocks. We bought them as baby chicks 🐤🐥
love the sound of the old farmall.
I watch your videos alot, really enjoy them. You two work your butts off! Great Job!
I always had problems backing a wagon. We put hitch on front of tractor. Made is easy.
Very good Video. Thanks Pete and family
I use all star bits now also. Just saves so much time!! Phillips bits strip so easy any more.
You got a good woman there! Laughing at your jokes 😂

Your "bad" jokes are the best! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work!
Seeing the tire flopping like that reminded me of my dad. Plus, he had a Farmall tractor, too. Good memories. thanks

Happy chickens always going on camping holidays
Great video!! I loved watching you guys catch the chickens 🐓
Neat way is 💯 correct Pete! Those who have no experience on the farm are always critical of others.
The dad jokes are gold! Lmao! Love it!!! Such a wonderful guy

love the sound of the old tractors. the bad jokes are fun. always look forward to your videos.
We have a bald Eagle family nearby our farm, so I’m pretty sure broilers in chicken tractors are going to be our safest way to go.
Y’all make a good team !!
☕ Good morning.
Nice video. Thank you.
Have a wonderful day. God bless.

Hello
We use the chicken poop for planting and it's very organic.
Love from Suriname 🇸🇷(South America)
Its awesome vedio and collection of lessons god bless sir from watching from Philippines
Best time catch and move chickens is at night. You don't have to chase them just walk up and pick them up .
Great info! Thanks for sharing your time and life with us. Learning so much from you.
LOVE this post. Thank you for sharing your chicken mobile.
Great video! Came for the DAD jokes! lol
How about a wall bracket or hooks or something like that for the winter brooder and the egg mobile, to mount the nesting boxes. for easier removal and mounting.
There’s something soothing to me about that tire going flop flop flop. ; )-
The eggmobile is like their own customized tour bus lol.

Pete, I’m a little OCD and that flat tire is driving nuts...😂
Just a tad flat-lol!
I would send go fund me money to get that tire fixed.
Man, the H is perfect for maneuvering the trailers.
the yolks on pastured are very bright almost orange and so much tastier!!
I couldn't do this kind of work. I'm glad you can.
YES>>>>>>> I enjoyed the video>>>>>>>>>>>>>thank you for posting it! (chicken and dumplings) Yummie!

All us dads are screaming "Don't stop the dad jokes ! " LOL ! Greetings from Sacramento California !
Your jokes remind me of Hee Haw when the barn board came out and hit them. Remember that?
👍😁
Great video!
Love the videos....and the jokes. Keep it up Pete. Great work!
You are so funny! I love your humor!
I like it. It is the right way to pick tham up if you pick tham up by thir wings you could heart them
Wow Pete I really didnt think you had that many chickens but It makes sense with you selling so many and these are just for eggs
I love catching chickens. Mostly. It's always a white leghorn that gets away, usually. They are just so nimble and flighty!! Lol.
What about histoplasmosis from the chickens? It’s a problem here is the Ohio River valley. Love your chicken systems.
Howdy Pete! Ya know - You can tune-a-piano, but you can’t tuna fish!
Fish go to school for music! 😃
We had a talking catfish thing that said that
I have had pet fish in the river, so cool!!🐔🚜

I love seeing your children help out 🤩 I hope you tell us about your experiment, I would love to have a mostly self sustaining flock
I hope that the children do a few segments on the progress of their experiment

Super video. Wish i personally meet you and learn more about your kind of farming.. Really impressive. 👍
I'm glad you are doing this with the chickens, however the only chicken I like comes from the Colonel.
That is definitely the best way. I work on a pheasant farm and we handle roughly 30,000 pheasants a year and that is how we carry them
I just found your channel by chance today. LOVED the jokes. hahaha Looking forward to watching your channel and maybe going back and watching some old vlogs. Have a great day!
Good you love your hens...!
That sure is neat way to move the chicken tractor
Reminds me of the Rocky movie watching you chase that chicken 😂
Exactly! I was thinking the same thing. Rocky "I feel like a kentucky fried idiot."😅
i love joke
So many chickens! I like the old haggard one laugh!
