Proving once again Adon olam can be sung to anything
I still enjoy it to "Rock Around the Clock.."
We used to sing it to the Star Wars opening theme when I was a kid!
He is fantastic. I live in the middle of the Free State in South Africa and so glad I found him
I live in France and everytime delight in watching vidéos with Avi Schwartz singing in New York. Such a wonderful voice and gifted canton with excellent mise en hebreu diction.
With you all wherever you are in the world.

Wow wow wow! I totally geeked out when I saw this video as one of the recommendations from YT. As an opera singer myself, I absolutely love this music, and it is the coolest thing ever to hear Avi sing these arias (opera songs) to the words of Adon Olam. I enjoyed this so very much, thanks Azi!!! And if anyone is wondering what arias are being sung in this video, here they are:
0:10 1) Ecco Ridente in Cielo - from The Barber of Seville - by Gioachino Rossini
1:03 2) La Donna E Mobile - from Rigoletto - by Giuseppe Verdi
2:00 3) Un'Aura Amorosa - from Cosi Fan Tutte - by W. A. Mozart
3:30 4) Va Pensiero Sull'ali Dorate - from Nabucco - by Giuseppe Verdi (not a tenor aria, but a famous chorus from the opera)
4:08 5) Ah Mes Ami - from La Fille Du Regiment - by Gaetano Donizetti (this aria is famous for having 9 high C's, and is what catapulted Luciano Pavarotti into operatic stardom)
6:12 6) Nessun Dorma - from Turandot - by Giacomo Puccini (most people outside of opera know Pavarotti for this aria, although it was the aria above that made him well-known in opera, period).
Thank you very much for posting the program of arias sung by Azi.
I was ready to ask if somebody knew what all the Arias were and I’m so glad you listed them. They all sounded familiar but I couldn’t name but a couple. Thanks again.
Super, simply the best, my favourite cantor, a gift min ha-shamayim! Que viva Azi!!! Greetings from Italy!
Such a talent. What a voice.
תודה רבה!! Azi's voice is a gift to all humankind.
This man has got a beautiful voice.
I'm not a religious man yet i enjoy watching your videos!
The spirit you bring to the religion is something to be appreciated, modern religion at it's best :]
Well done!
It’s more the faith of god. He had speak to many many people, prophets, kings... it’s only one of the Earth. ( not other „gods“ have do it, only ideas but never a god) read the Bibel.
G-D gave his Children the Voices of Angels.
Bravo, Azi!
Love to watch him. Always makes
Me feel so good.
What a beautiful voice - to sing such a meaningful song/prayer
He is so moving and truly he has a gift from g-d. God bless him and jersuleum
Brilliant and enjoyable to listen to. Adon Olam seems to be a very popular prayer to write new melodies to. Adon Olam is also sung to many familiar melodies. What is it about that song that makes it a favorite? L'cha Dodi is the second most popular to write new arrangements to.
I think it's a great idea to sing a variety of melodies - melodies of the season - of the Jewish holidays. Variety is a spice of life and no one will get bored.
Cantor Scwartz is awesom. Wonderful music with such sincerety.
Love it !!!!!!

Feel like I am at the opera
Sublime escuchar "va pensiero" en hebreo
1:53 That High C
I'd love to hear a Soprano sing that cause I love the higher pitched sound too.
It can be sung to Habanera from Carmen.
@@sherhino Anyone can do it
Mazal Tov!!
Tov Me'od !
יפה מאד
I learned how to daven for the high holidays from your recordings, Cantor Barnoy. I like your tunes particularly for Le Dor Vador and Vekarev Pezureinu
Throw the kitties asunder. Blessings 2 all from Samarqand. Yeah!
Azi Schwartz Which tenor Arias were those? Cause the 3 Tenors could've done it. At 1:53 You sang that High C.
It's also worth noting, Azi transposed many of these arias *HIGHER* than what the composers wrote, including the high C you talked about at 1:53. It's supposed to be a half step lower, so the high note is a B4 rather than a C5.
@@tristanhnl Have a Soprano sing that up the Octave & that'll sound quite bright
@@RockStarOscarStern634 , you pretty much said what I said earlier. The composer wrote it to be half a step lower, but Azi transposed it up, so the note is a C5 (when it should have been a B4).
@@RockStarOscarStern634 , also I took the time to answer your question and typed out the names of the arias, along with their timestamps.....
Sense of humor.
Azi Schwartz Which arias were those?
@CircuitsAndStrings 2 Mr Stern , See in the comment above . K
shabbat shalom
1:53 High C
I think he slipped into counter-tenor mode at one point...
Great performance but not appropriate in shul! Is this a synagogue? What's next? Burlesque? Who put the piano in this shul? Do they not remember the admonishment of Tisha b'Av?
😁😂❤️
Why have this video as apoearing as "Christian music"? This a Jewish person and so are the attendants at the synagogue! The pianist is also great 👍👍😊 someone is writing on the video Christian music so no one would watch it, shame on You Tube!
Beautiful voice - but I would not mix the sacred with the secular.. that dishonors God.
Christian music???? Judaism preceded Christianity by 1500 years. .
What a woanderful performance.
Woanderful!!
Fantastic
Shabbat Shalom!!!
