I like how Melo treated Kiyan like his own man in this interview, not even introducing him as his son. Gave him his own platform to speak about his own experiences alongside his GOAT.

    1. Early Melo. Penetrate the paint then hesi in and out with the right hand easy lay
    2. Middle years… catch in the post. 1 dribble Drop baseline spin back to the paint double pump lay… usually ends with an and 1.
When he first came back in Portland I sent him a dm on ig asking for that spin lay and he tried it the very next game. I like to see it’s because he saw the dm 😂

Melo is 40… his favorite player as a YOUNG KID was Bernard King. He had to have someone close to him showing him the greatness of Bernard King. King only played till 93. He only played with Knicks till 87 (scoring champ in 85). Melo was only 3 when King left the Knicks. Played with the Bullets till 91 and retired in 93 after year with the Nets. From the time Mel left college early and coming into the NBA he was a beast and a problem for opposing teams. When he said Bernard King was his GOAT I could see that because he later became that guy for the Knicks. I am very impressed with his parenting.

This episode inspired me on a different level. I'm 32 and I had one of the deepest conversations with parents that I could remember as an adult. Watching Melo be a father and have his peers help with passing the torch to the next generation is special. I used to play sports and I didn't reach my full potential but I want to coach to help the youth reach theirs. I literally started working out halfway through the episode and I hope that I can continue to find motivation everyday to keep pushing forward. Thanks a lot my brothers you never know how just sharing your experiences and words can help others. Stay Blessed and stay #Melo
