MBK, you have no idea how much I truly appreciate your uploading all these episodes... I grew up watching PYL religiously on USA and has always been near and dear to me. It's amazing to see all these non-GSN aired eps... thank you very, very much. (And keep them coming :D)
That’s what it was. I recently learned from James Corden on his final week of The Late Late Show that they had to paid $7K to play Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
Neither Dave nor Paul were the first to hit four whammies in a row in round two. That honor goes to Ed from Episode 312 (12/4/84). The only difference between Ed and the other two was that Ed's fourth whammy ended the game whereas Paul's and Dave's fourth whammies didn't end the game.
I forgot about that one, for some reason. For a while, I've been wondering what was the most recent episode to be used in flashback intros in future episodes. It might have been from the 11/21/85 episode (Kurt makes a fool out of himself).
KMOV was originally KMOX until May 16, 1986 when CBS sold the station to Viacom and became KMOV. PYL aired at 12:30 I believe and was "canceled" in St. Louis during the summer of 86
Lauren, here's the situation. You got one whammy, $0 and one spin left. If you go for it, then you will need something that gives you an additional spin to stay in the game. Anything less than that, Yvonne would win the game. You can pass it to Yvonne and if she whammies, you and Yvonne would come back, not Dave because Dave has four whammies. Although Dave is a record holder.
Dave was one of the worst players (by far) one of the worst players in history ever to hit "4 Whammies in a row," beginning with (12:45), then @ (13:03), then (again) @ (13:25), before the entire gang needed "absolute silence" from Peter Tomarken, to change the direction of the game, when that didn't help, because Dave had his 4th and final whammy @ (13:57), who was not the 1st in history to knock himself out of the game, but was one of the few players ever to make it into The Hall of Shame!

I like how Peter was obsessing over Robin Hood at the end of the first Q&A.
0:03, The image of Peter looks like it came from Hit Man.
I have to wonder: did they add the Whammy animation to the first commercial bumper to cover up Peter's use of potentially copyrighted lyrics?
That’s what it was. I recently learned from James Corden on his final week of The Late Late Show that they had to paid $7K to play Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
This was the last time in which a whammy umpire announces to the loser, "You're Out!"

Do you like Big Bird?
Peter: no one has ever hit 4 whammies in a row
Me: Bruh sound effect #2

Too be fair they taped so many episodes that it's hard to remember who hit 4 whammies in a row. I think it happened about 4 or 5 times.
It's funny the pattern that Dave hit the whammies too. Both Egyptian whammies and Hero pose whammies. 14, 5, 9 and 11.
I forgot about that one, for some reason.

Move one space to $500 or $1500? That's even worse than the Pick-A-Corner conflicts
Ironically Mona is in the intro, she's the one Kristin is hugging. You can see the 4 whammies in front of her.
thats why i made the youtube video titled "PYLs worst players ever"
MBK1997 You know what else you should've made in the title for this video? Episode 712. You know why? Because you got it wrong once again.

Wow. Poor Dave getting four whammies in a row.
Poor Dave. I really felt bad for him. That sucks that 4 Whammies prevents your from coming back, even in a new game.
Yeah, if Yvonne would have whammied on the last spin, only she and Lauren would have returned.
Don't tell me Dave pulled a Paul in June 1985 but sadly I'm afraid he did.
Has anyone ever Whammied out in round 1? I know Leslie Nielson came close on the gameshow marathon episode bu I've never seen it before.
But that would've been a great thing to see since the DVD game won't put you out of the game until Round 3 which is the final round in that game.
Dave looks a little bit like Tom Kennedy.
Really, Damien? No kidding!
12:44 - 14:00 is the worst 1:16 of gameplay EVER!

Was local CBS affiliate KMOV-TV 📺 (Channel 4) in St. Louis preempting the half-hour soap 🧼 opera CAPITOL during the summer 😎 of 1986 at the time?
@@jamesmcclelland1414 I’ll have to dig into the PD Archives. I need to correct my above statement - KMOX Channel 4 became KMOV on 6/18/86
@@defoedude Thanks 😊, you’re a pal!
@@jamesmcclelland1414 Capitol stayed on KMOV up until it’s cancellation in March 87.

Peter made another mistake. There was a contestant with four Whammies in a row before. Mona on the 10/23/85 episode.
Ed hit 4 in a row as well in #312, but his 4th in a row was at the very end of the game.
I think Paul also hit 4 in a row in the Al/Lisa/Paul game.
If you factor in contestants who carried over whammies from round one, eleven contestants whammied on four consecutive spins.
and there was someone in Mid 1985 that hit 4 in a row.
Paul.
Where does Dave make history in a good way?
Dave Hit a Fourth Whammy He’s Out At 13:56
horrorbro Thanks for that major spoiler alert.
Dave is out

That was just a waste between the third and fourth whammy and I especially hoped it would fail.
