@@CutiepieTinWhistle i love the design of your low D. reminds me of a whislte I bought from a guy in the states that designs whistles..Nick Metcalf. he makes some real beautiful whistles.
Thank you for this tutorial. This is perfect for practicing a the full range of the James Dominic low D. I struggled to correctly play it but I'm finally getting the pipers grip down.
Thank you so much 💚💚💚 really pleased you enjoyed it! I just made a 15 minute compilation of everything we've played together recently, you might like that? 🥰 th-cam.com/video/b0FAfd1Vbac/w-d-xo.htmlsi=feVLmeqmyHUV2nPz
Wow! This music is so calming. I just felt like being in another very beautiful world. It's also a quite sad melody. This tune could easily be a soundtrack to a RPG medieval/fantasy computer game.
Hi Stephanie I love your work keep going. Could you pleaaaaase make tutorials of two songs from the Battlefield V OST: "Under no flag" and "I vow to thee my country"
Thankfully the tuning for harp and whistle is perfect! My harp is tuned to E flat major but I can put up my levers so I’m in E minor/G major (the key of this tune) and then Stephanie can play the tune in G on a D major whistle just by making sure she plays C naturals instead of sharps😁
Wow ,Stephanie , first Brian Finnegan , now Phil Hardy , Michael McGoldrick next ? Or maybe Ali Levack . I love that your ability has improved so much that you are able to take on tunes by these great players , play them so well and make them accessible to us.Thankyou
Very beautiful song! In light of the new Topgun movie coming out, any chance you could do a tin whistle cover of Highway to the Danger Zone from the original movie's soundtrack?
try though I may I can't get the hang of tabs. Yes I can see and recognise the notes but there is no indication of the values of said notes. Unless you know the tune I don't see how you can play it only using tabs. I much prefer having sheet music. that having been said you do a great job, as always, Stephanie. You would think after years of following your channel I would get it by now🤔 I even play an MK pro low D in green after watching your videos.
That's literally what you have to do! Learn the tune in your head. Listen over and over until you can sing or hum it to yourself. After that, the letters or tabs are just reference of where to put your fingers, as your head already knows how long to hold each note 😊 But yes, I completely agree! It has to suit your learning preferences. I've tried time and time again with sheet music but the lines and dots blend together and I can't tell you which dot is on which line! (Same applies to tabs, far too dotty for me! 🤣) I just write the letters out 😂
In my opinion you will take far too long to play tunes with sheet music. Playing by ear is what all musicians should do. It is much easier than you might first think. But I agree with you about tabs, they are no better. The way to do it, is phrase by phrase and memorization. Trust me it is the only easy way. The more tunes you learn by ear the easier it gets. In the end it is no harder than singing. That is the amazing thing about playing by ear. But give yourself 2 years of learning by ear many, many simple tunes like this one.
@@TechTins_Projects I do play a lot of tunes by ear but when you play with other people it is nice to all be doing the same thing and in this case I use the sheet music to confirm and or fix any discrepancies.
Thanks for inviting me on this track! loved playing with you as always😁 Wonder if people want to see more collabs between us?👀
I always enjoy hearing you play with Stephanie. You and your harp add an extra level to the music.
Great to have you as always 💚💚💚

Beautifully played. Great lesson. Well done Stephanie. Midnight Walker would be a great follow up lesson.
Lovely. Well done both of you. You played that beautifully Stephanie. Thumbs up from me! :)

How is the tuning of the Harp? How does it match so perfectly with the Low D? 🙂 Love it!

@@gcujimmy Well, this is a very simple tune. Just learn to sing it first, off by heart. Then you should have no problems with it on a whistle.
What are the Syrians lamenting?
Perhaps entire cities bombed? It's a sweet tune, but it doesn't really sound very Syrian.
@@annetteroos370 I suspect it is intended to sound lamentful.
Seems not to understand the phrasing and so lacks the proper expression and emotion. And far too much staccato!
