This is such a good video, I love the speed the non chess pounding way in which you describe the musky fishing and pursuit is so awesome I just got into it and it literally is among the greatest pursuits there ever was God bless America lol
While fishing lake st clair a couple weeks before closer on canadian side in '18 i was able to watch real ski fly fishing for my first time. It was incredible to watch!
I got my first Tiger muskie on fly last summer on a Gunnar Brammer super jerking shad Color that I tied up. 15 year journey for a musky on fly in the books. But I'm gunning for an even bigger one this year.
Yes all the gear fishers chashing smallies will always look at ya weird when you start making back cast XD that is until you start hooking up lol then they wanna get close. Glad to see other fly fishers out on LSC!!
So cool. I dont have muskie or pike where I live but I fly fish for striper and spotted bass. Struggling casting the really big flies. Any advice? I've tried the Belgian cast but I cant seem to get any energy into the line if that makes sense lol
@@letsgobrody5608 what weight rod and line you use? i had the same kind of issue when i was trying to throw meat flys on a 5 wt rod and line. double hauling did help but i moved up to a 8wt rod and line, which is more of what i needed anyways, made life easier
Go bigger, Brody..... most guys going strictly for musky are throwing at least a ten weight.... anything bigger than a smallie fly on an 8 wt can be a chore.... also, you can try overweighting your line, sizing up to a nine weight line on a faster 8 wt rod will sometimes change everything when tossing big flies.... lastly, practice your double haul, if you’re not really accelerating the line in the front and back with your left hand, you won’t muster more than one or two false casts without losing momentum
Very well done. Musky on the fly, is the exact reason to fly fish. No better feeling than that first strip set into that big head shake. Great work!
Unbelievably awesome video. This is what it’s about
Awsome footage! Getting one on a fly is a bucket list item for me this coming season!

im a newbie pretty much but a heavier weight rod possibly and double hauling
@@archeryfiend8808 I can cast something really light, like a carp fly, very far. Put any kind of weight or wind resistant fly on and I'm lost
