Thank you very much for this wonderful review !! I have two questions: I would like to know if zapp plus works with any kind of metal ?(for example aluminium, inox) I live in Belgium(Bruxelles to be exact); how would it work for the warranty, the customer service ? I am about to purchase this 🤩wondertool 🤩🤩 Thank you very much in advance !
Hello to Bruxelles from Toronto! Zapp Plus, as well as any of the Sunstone welders, will weld any metal that conducts electricity. As for warranty, it has 3 years warranty and customer service from Sunstone is excellent. I offer customer and user support to all those who bought the welders through me (Stones And Findings).
@@stonesandfindings Hello to Toronto ! ;-) Thank you so much for your quick answer ! So i'll contact you very soon for this wonderful tool, have a nice morning/evening !
Dana thank you so much. My Zapp plus arrived yesterday and I am now feeling confident to set up my machine 😅. You are brilliant I am in the Uk and would be interested in seeing how buying chain etc from you would compare with me buying from the uk Also I am a little confused re argon gas. Do I need and what are the benefits x
You are so welcome, Emma! Hello from Canada. Despite what some people say on the internet, you do not need to have argon gas in order to achieve strong and secure welds when micro welding. We filmed an honest review and comparison for welding with and without argon: th-cam.com/video/lkS1-k8KKWQ/w-d-xo.html Argon is way more controversial than it should be. The benefits of argon when used for permanent Jewelry are less noticeable than with other forms of welding, because the size of the weld is so small. In larger scale welding the welding systems would not work, and damage would occur if gas was not used. Simply put, in normal welding (outside of Jewelry) there is no application where gas is not required, it is universally used and required. The main benefits of Argon are: Pushes Oxygen away from the weld site preventing unwanted oxides to form in the molten metal. Protects and prolongs the electrode tip. Electrode will remain sharper and last longer. Less porosity (holes) in your finished welds. Oxygen & Oxides cannot get trapped in the metal. Pulse arc welding uses a plasma arc. This plasma is what generates the amount of heat needed to melt the metal. The ions in the gas are positively charged and help create a stable arc. More consistency in creating welds as the Arc will be stabilized by the argon gas. More consistency of welds - Less misfires Argon will help the metal flow together better - Less oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen contaminated the weld flow) The key is the use of a Noble gas - there are 7 total, all but two are far too expensive for welding use. Argon & Helium are the two options that can be used for a shielding gas. Argon is used on all metals and all applications, is ideal for every welding condition. Helium is more expensive in most cases, less effective is some alloys. That is why Argon is the most recommended. I hope this helps. Best Dana
Thank you Dana! I appreciate the review ❤ I already upgraded 🙊 in terms of fabrication, what are ten easy things to make with a welder? Would you ever be able to weld a ring band in a thin gauge?
You are so welcome! There are soooo many easy pieces of jewelry to make with the welder! I have created a playlist "Unleash Your Creativity with Micro Welding" with demos of jewelry pieces. I had hoped that we could release one video per week, but alas, editing out my hums and hahs require more attention than one would think. A quick answer is yes! You can weld thin bands, just like bangles. I've demonstrated 16ga. I should demo for people how to use ring sizer etc..... and also, right away, you can make chain rings of any size. They're gorgeous and easy sellers. Stay tuned! I will be posting many jewelry designs that will utilize welding.
You are so welcome! THank you for this note! I really appreciate the encouragement. I like trying out things and sharing, but it's low budget production, LOL
Yes I do! We use DHL for international shipments, and we ship all over the world. I need a specific postal address to go into the DHL site and enter it for a rate quote. Some places are more rural (in the countryside) and cost more. As for taxes, we do not charge sales tax for packages leaving Canada, just your import tax. Please email me: sales@stonesandfindings.com with your postal address and your question above. Thanks, Alejandra. Best Dana
Hi, Dana. Do you offer certification to become PJ? Very much interested in this new kind of business. Thankful I stumble upon your channel. Also, Is Zapp plus welder good investment. I read that some jumprings are not working with this kind of machine. Please enlighten me. Lastly, Do you ship in Dubai?
Hi! We have training that is being edited at this point, and should be ready mid-May 2024. Yes, we will have certificate of completion for the course. It is very thorough and above and beyond welding. Zapp Plus offers the best value in the market place, of any welder. If there is a jump ring that doesn't work with this welder, those are faulty jump rings and would not work with any arc pulse welder. We carry genuine 925 silver, gold filled, solid 0K and solid 14K jump rings and they weld perfectly. We ship to Dubai and anywhere that DHL delivers. I hope this helps and PJ is a great business to enter into. It is still at its infancy outside of North America, but it is just a matter of time. I feel this is the kind of opportunity that comes once in every 25-30 years (I'm speaking from my background in business studies as well as from personal experience in the industry). Good luck, whatever you decide. Best Dana
Does green light turn on? If you have purchased your welder from me, please email/call us in the morning. We will figure it out together. No worries. I have to see a photo or video of what you're doing once you switch it on. If you didn't buy it from me, call the place you bought it from. You might have to wait a bit, I know we have a reputation of being the most responsive, but they should support you. Or contact Sunstone - they're awesome.
