some women really enjoy being abused and mistreated! They do all they can to prolong their 'agony'... "if you call the police, your father goes to jail..." "yeah? good!"
Lovely twist of the story. Never ever live with someone abusive. Living in fear and expecting it to get better is not the answer. Nothing is going to change, if he beats you once, he will do it again and again. Tell someone, ask for help or leave. Anything could be better than living like this. ❤

The monsters we help create in our kids when we are in an abusive relationship, never stops haunting them. Its hard, but its best to put an end to such exposure as quickly as we can before they fail to escape and become monsters themselves.
So true. I never wanted kids and will never have. I got myself a dog and it's scary how fast I found myself barely under control with rage. It's in me just as it's in my mom and her mom. So this rage will die with me.
Bahahaha. That early “action” sequence with the kid charging at his Dad/Mums Boyfriend was hilariously bad. The aggression and the takedown, followed by a small blip where he hit his head. Comedy gold!
Thought the exact same thing. It was sooooo bad it was comical! They switch to his head "hitting" the table and then he has a bloody nose or head or something. LOL
The mother needs urgent, urgent help! The son may grow up to be psychologically impaired. Thank God there are no other siblings. Domestic violence is absolutely heartbreaking! The victim and perpetrator both are damaged. The acting was good!
Big fan of sci-fi that allegories present and pressing matters - your film really nails the harrowing, reality-bending act that stopping an abuse cycle can require. One of the other (many) things I really love about the piece is how restrained Jack's performance is while both Amy and James are volcanic - captures something true about living with and within trauma and shows real maturity as an actor. Thanks to everyone involved for such great work!
You should never subject your children to abuse. Do the responsible thing to give them a better life. The psychological damage is indelible. There could be a whole host of irreversible things that arise due to domestic violence. In my case I had a father that was abusive and one day, whilst trying to defend my mother we got into a scuffle and he fell, his eyesight was permanently damaged and I have lived with that guilt all my life.
well you wouldn’t have had to defend him, if he wasn’t literally hurting the person he’s supposed to love and cherish. i know it’s a complicated thing mentally, but there’s no need to feel guilty - you were just protecting your mom from a monster.

Because of the mom's refusal to leave the abuser, she has caused her son to become a derelict and a monster as well. My God this was powerful and haunting, the poor kid can't escape his past and the mother abused her son as well. Only thinking of herself and smacking him, that's abuse.
