It is true there was a necessity to select the head of the community so likes of Hazrat Abu Bakr, Umar, and the Muhajarin had to look to that because other newer sahaba coyld not wait for days before declaring the "khalifa" or "imam". Hazrat Ali first task was the funeral- this is the normal muslim way - he was closest family of the Prophet. Those "majority" Muslims do not accept your story that Ali was denied being brother to the Prophet. Ali was his beloved brother. The Shia exaggerate.... since the last 1000 years.
